tribute to his late son. good evening and welcome to nbc 10 news at 11:00. i'm denise nakano. a cool down across the region after days that hit the 70s. nbc 10 here in center city where the jackets were out after a warm day. let's go to nbc 10 first alert meteorologist erica martin. the temperatures are really dropping. >> you know what? this is sobering. today's high temperature in philadelphia was 77 degrees. and we have dropped 32 degrees because right now current temperature in philadelphia, 45 degrees. in trenton, 45 for you. and allentown, 44 degrees. mt. pocono colder at 36. look at the winds. northeasterly and northerlies. why we're getting the colder temperatures and a look at the

gradient. see the blues to the northeast and the greens, a sign of slightly warmer air to the southwest and that colder air sliding into place and colder tonight into tomorrow. temperatures below average for this time of the year. now, your out the door forecast while it's dry right now, i am tracking some showers through theover night hours into tomorrow morning morning and 6:00 a.m. seeing scattered showers, temperatures at 46 degrees. around 46 for philadelphia. mid-40s for the p.a. suburbs and then again tracking those showers and that major cool down but then a roller coaster ride hitting 70s by tuesday, denise. back the you. >> all right. thank you. now to a nbc 10 exclusive. a brawl at a basketball game. fists flying in the stands in temple center tonight. it happened during the all-star celebrity basketball game. we're told there were police inside the building who helped break up the crowd. no arrests were made and the

event went on as scheduled. people across pennsylvania are now getting letters in the mail about changes happening to easy pass tolls along the turnpike. nbc 10's andrea cline-thomas has a look. >> reporter: soon they won't get a green light that the e-z pass has registered and some fear that this e-z will not live up to the name. going through toll plazas with an e-z pass is usually a breeze. >> helpful to see that you got a green light and that, you know, you know that it paid. >> reporter: drivers are given a green light or some sort of indication that their e-z pass registered and then free to go. >> you don't get a green light, when's the first thing the driver does? slow down, stop.

>> reporter: the signals are against federal guidelines. over the next year, it is being removed along the pennsylvania turnpike. >> it produces a, you know, a backup, a problem. you know? we don't want that. we want things to work the way it's accepted. nice and smooth. gets the traffic moving slower. >> reporter: that's the fear amongst drivers saying the change will be confusing and the pennsylvania turnpike commission expects drivers to get used to it as they upgrade the technology. if your e-z pass doesn't register -- >> doesn't seem to always do that and then i get, you know, the mail that says that i have a fine or something. >> reporter: to avoid problems, commissioners advise mounting the e-z correctly and keeping the account up to date. another tip is checking your account monthly just to make sure that the charges are accurate and may be helpful to set up notifications on the

account. nbc 10 news. >> thank you. philadelphia police had to juggle two competing demonstrations in center city today. supporters of president trump held a make america great again rally on independence mall and planned to march to the art museum and never made it there. opposing group calling itself anti-fascist showed up and officers working to keep them away from the trump supporters. >> it can give their opinion. that's fine. we are giving it right back to them. it's a free country. >> police say they gave out two citations for disorderly conduct. tensions were running high in california where there were also duelling demonstrations. crowds of people gathered in huntington beach saturday for a great america great again rally and met with proest thors and the president tweeted his thanks

this evening saying thank you for the trump rallied today. amazing support. we will all make america great again. a home surveillance system helps a philadelphia man catch crooks breaking in the home as it was happening. the homeowner immediately dialed 911 and police showed up to the home in northeast philadelphia to see two guys running down the street, one of the guys carrying a tv. he ditched it and then got into a car. a short time later, that car crashed into some parked cars and that's when police arrested a total of five people. >> he was at work. his phone went off and watching the guys in the house. called the detectives and thank god they were able to catch them. >> neighbors say they want to invest in the cell phone surveillance after this burglary was busted. next, a deadly shooting on the las vegas strip. we have an update after one man opened fire and then barricaded

burlington county this afternoon. see the flames pouring from the home on wentwood court. this is video of a neighbor. no one was hurt. well, the man accused of planting bombs and getting in a shootout with police in north jersey want it is move the trial. the lawyer for the man says he can't get a fair trial in union county because there was just too much coverage about him. he was arrested after a gun battle with police in lyndon. police say he was on the run for days after planting bombs in seaside heights and two in manhattan. two fallen firefighters are being immoralalized in a new mural. neighbors were welcomed to engine 38 to paint the mural of the lieutenant and firefighter. when it's finished it will be hung on the library. lieutenant craig is the first female firefighter in philadelphia to die in the line of duty. former vice president joe
