student who was blocks away. >> reporter: there's a the lo of o student housing around here and they are not able to get back into their homes because of the police activity opinion ab elementary school has been placed on lockdown a block over. this has been going on for two hours. there was a shooting here. 17-year-old boy who was shot in critical condition at temple university hospital. police chased two people down the street. one of those men was barricaded in a small apartment a block away. listen to what he had to say. >> i just heard five gunshots from that direction. i look back and didn't see much. i didn't know what it was. i just kind of looked back and walked past my house. >> the s.w.a.t. team has been busy trying to diffuse the

situation. we have seen detectives out here gathering evidence from that shooting. they have been pulling physical evidence trying to see if they can find some surveillance video of that shooting. the person who was shot is in critical condition. a 17-year-old boy at the hospital now. we'll keep you updated and see if this ends peacefully or anything that develops down here in north tld. back to you guys. >> thank you. also tonight new charges in the death of a toddler in philadelphia. police have arrested that boy's caregiver, but there's many questions surrounding his death. police are still waiting to find out just how this toddler died. here's the new details. i have found out the boy was discovered curled up on a bed in the rear bed naked ask emaciated.

>> something had to be done. a kid shouldn't go that way. this man who asked that he not be identify ied smith is charge with concealing the death of a a child. and abuse of a corpse as police say she tried moving the body. the man we spoke with claims he offered him $1,000 to dispose of the body. it's the size of a loaf of bread. >> the child belonged to the girlfriend and showed signs of determine how he died. they are waiting on toxicology results. there is some evidence drugs were found in the toddler's system. nbc 10 news.

new video police are back at a strip club 24 hours after a car wash was shot up in the parking lot. now they are trying to figure out two key things. first, where were the shots fired from. they are looking into a construction site cross the street. the second, who was the intended target. when the gunshots rang out. at this point, we don't know if she was the intend issed target of the shooting. >> detectives were looking at that vehicle again this afternoon. they are also looking at surveillance video to help them identify the shooter or shooters. >> now to our continuing coverage of philadelphia district attorney seth williams. he was back in federal court today as his lawyer tried to quit the case. he has three days to hire someone else. his current attorney told the judge that will yms just can't afford hill. the indicted d.a. said he doesn't need a court appointed

florence at 48. hopewell township at 46. 54 degrees after the 62 yesterday. sunshine tomorrow pushes back up to 61. then it's going back down as the clouds come back in and northeast winds come back in. and then rain comes back this. today's rain, the heaviest of the stuff is is up in new england. we have some lingering rain. generally on the lighter side. especially in the northern and western areas. and then down toward cape county. this is over delaware bay. that's a pretty good thunderstorm headed in the general direction of cape may county. here's the steady, rain. it is on the lighter side. . so it's going to be adding to your problems.
