now. they are asking to judge to spare them prison time. matt delucia is live. you have been following developments coming out this morning. tell us more. >> reporter: we are standing by for that sentencing of two former aids to governor christie. here is new video from newark. we watched as bill and bridgette worked in. baroni was scheduled for sentencing at 10:30. kelly is scheduled for noon. the scandal became known as bridgegate. governor christie was never

charged with any wrong doing. today he was asked for his thoughts on the upcoming sentencing. he said it's not his role to pass judgment. it calls from 37 to 46 months. the exact sentence is up to the judge. they have asked for leniency in the form of probation and house arrest instead of prison time. we are following what happens out after that courtroom and we'll let you know what happens. nbc 10 news. >> thank you. the man accused of killing an 81-year-old grocery store owner owner is in court for a hearing. he walked in and shot a man 11 times. a man walk his dog was at the right place at the right time to save his neighbors from a house fire. it happened this morning in

philadelphia. many people were home when it started. a neighbor helped them out of the home. medics took the family to the hospital as a precaution. that i are all in stable condition. >> new this morning, a woman is in custody after she rammed her car into a police cruiser and officers opened fire at her. it started around 9:30 this morning when police tried to stop the woman driving erratically. no one was hurt. right now chris ttie is meeting with president trump. this morning on the today show christie talked about what steps the commission will take to help save lives. >> our charge is to look at what the federal government is doing and all of the states are doing and say how can we do this better help them not first start taking drugs and then move onto say if people fall victim to this disease what can we do to get them appropriate treatment.

right now two former aids to new jersey chris christie are in court. last year a jury found bill and bridgette kelly guilty. they could face 37 to 46 months in prison. they are asking the judge for lenien leniency. >> jay gray is following this from outside the courthouse. what can you tell us? >> hey. . >> reporter: yeah. we are outside the courthouse. they could face 36 to 48 months in prison. they are con visvicted of using their positions to cause a traffic jam, part of a plot against a major who did not endorse christie. they have been convicted of fraud, conspiracy and misusing
