tonight on nbc 10 news at 11:00, out cold. a goalie knocked out on the ice without being toughed. a five-car crash on the roosevelt boulevard. we're talking to some of the victims, including a young mother with a special story behind her car. and a water search at the jersey shore. we'll tell you what triggered that search. nbc 10 news starts now. >> good evening, this is nbc 10 news at 11:00. take a look at this. the five-car wreck on the roosevelt boulevard sent 10 people to the hospital. and nbc 10's andre acline thomas is live on the scene.

what have you learned? >> reporter: an accident on roosevelt boulevard near second street set off chain rea kz. >> when she looked out the door, all four cars were smashed. >> and all cars were involved, including the camry used to transport her special needs son now four years old. but her mother helped her put belongings into a trash bag. this is the second car that's been damaged in front of her apartment. other residents have had prob lms in the past parking here but there aren't other options. >> i had a hit and run saturday before last. >> the crash caused two people to be taken to the hospital. >> when the light changes at

fifth street, if the light is still green at second street, they are really flying when they come past here. >> it causes problems on roosevelt boulevard. they have not confirmed that is the case here. come monday morning when she has to find a way to take her son to his appointment and get herself to school. >> take the bus early in the morning like 5:30/5:00. >> reporter: now back out here live the city say they've spent a lot of money implementing other measures to try to make the boulevard safer but talk to residents who live along here and they can tell you how dangerous it still can be. nbc 10 news. there's the over head. he collapsed on the ice. >> new at 11:00, philadelphia

flyers goalie collapses on the ice in the middle of tonight's home game and you can see medics rushed out to put him on a stretcher and take him away. tonight we're getting an update after he was hospitalized. live with the it latest. danny. >> all the talk about the flyers for the last few weeks has been about trying to chase down a playoff spot but something like this makes this seem so inkaungs kwengsal. michael noibering collapses. the flyers bench were able to get the trainer out quickly and respond. according to the general manager he was alert and taken to penn hospital for observation. no further update until tomorrow. steve macson was unavailable. there's a bug in the locker room. the flyers led to a shut out

victory. back to you. >> good to hear he's recovering. a major drug and weapons' bust landed 16 people behind bars. they seized 21 guns more than 10,000 bags of heroin and fentanyl. investigators believe the drug ring begins in southeren states and ends in atlantic county. they reported seeing something in to the ocean off cape may. the search lashed several hours. it's been suspended. coast guard officials tell us they found nothing in the water and there are no reports of people missing. a 14-year-old boy was killed when the atv he was riding or driving in flipped over this afternoon in south jersey. two passengers were also hurt. the accident happened in tabor nackal. police are investigating what

caused that crash. the death toll now scanned at 193. 100 more remain missing. an avalanche of water swept through the southern border along ecuador. it caused three rivers to over flow their banks and witnesses say the mud and debris went through toppling homes and lifting trucks downstream. a state of emergency has been issued. >> well, hanging out by the fire on a chilly night. here at xfinity live in south philadelphia. we're already tracking more heading our way. time for the first alert neighborhood forecast. let's go to erica martin. >> in fact, you asked me top speed, wind speed 24 miles per

a house collapsed in west philadelphia, setting off a frantic rescue effort. neighbors say the sound of the collapse woke them before 3:00 this morning and then they heard screaming from inside. when firefighters arrived, they dug through the rubble and found a homeless man surrounded by ada cratch on him. a sea of red tonight in south philadelphia. the phillys aren't in action just yet. this was for the american red cross's annual ball at lincoln

field. and tonight's party with a purpose. the red ball raises money for the red cross. the eagles mascot, swoop was across the street at citizens world bank helping raise money for the charity little smiles. who hosted its event to raise money for children in local hospitals battling life altering conditions. and this morning the philly fan attic took a break from baseball to help kick off the 5k at the ball park. thousands of runners made their way around south philadelphia to raise money for philly's charities. and they return to action next week and nbc 10 will help welcome them home so you can watch the home opener right hire
