a 13-year-old girl was grab bed and assaulted by boys not much older than her. >> 13 to 16 that's usually over there. >> reporter: it happened as the girl walked down the street just before 5:00 sunday. >> sometimes nowadays you can't be safe around here. >> reporter: detectives aren't saying, if any, surveillance video sift or would prove helpful. half block off market street. >> there's a black window opened up there so they could have been climbing through the window. >> reporter: it's unclear how the girl might have been coaxed or dragged by the boys and how she finally managed to get help. she remains in stable condition at the hospital. >> this area right here, is like really a danger zone because there's nobody down here to see anything. you get caught up, that's it. >> reporter: now police commissioner has asked anyone with knowledge of what he called a quote, nasty and ugly crime to include the full names of those suspects allegedly involved to reach out to detectives right

more weather with heavy rain and thunderstorms, maybe even some severe weather. we'll get into that in just a few minutes. >> happening right now. bill cosby back in court and prosecutors want the jury to hear his decade old deposition testimony at trial. >> but cosby's attorney say that testimony is irrelevant. >> prosecutors say some of the most valuable evidence in this case may come from bill cosby himself. lawyers want to introduce cosby's own words about women, drugs and sex at his summer trial. this is video of the comedian today back in 2006. cosby settled a civil suit with the victim in this case. those documents are sealed but prosecutors want the jury to see what andrea was given for her silence when she accused cosby of sexually assaulting her in his home in 2004. prosecutors also want to

introduce cosby's lines from his memoir where he recalls he and a group of friends unsuccessfully tried to slip what they thought was a spanish fly to a group of girls. he wrote, quote, women are never in the mood for men and they quote need chemicals. now the defense wants this to be kept away from the jury saying in part this is all part of his stand-up act and it's not the truth. cosby is being convicted in the media. they are pushing the judge to change the rules in selecting a jury in hopes of vetting out impartial jrz. we're live in the breaking news center, erin coleman, nbc10 news. >> the battle over the next supreme court justice could soon get messy. >> thanks to delaware senator chris coons. senator coons became the 41st democratic to support philly bustering gorsuch's nomination. republicans can get around that by using the nuclear option.

nbc10 news first brought you this story as breaking news friday at 5:00. officers say anthony and robyn potter were stabbed several times in point breeze. 63-year-old robin was dead at the scene. anthony was later arrested. he's pushing for answers about a possible motive. >> pennsylvania representative mark rossi led a rally on the steps of the state capitol today. the reason statute for limitations reform. victims should have more time to seek justice from their abusers. >> the home of former trenton mayor mac will be up for auction. he's serving time in prison. as a result his home is heading to a sheriff's sale. the buyer will have to pay close to $400,000 pause of judgments and liens. mack is expected to be released

daiichi facility. it will keep all the current employees. >> right now pennsylvania's coroner's office is trying to figure out what killed a runner who collapsed at the end of a half marathon. 36-year-old lindsay dropped at the end of this race in scranton sunday. emergency crews gave her cpr and rushed her to the hospital where she died. she ran the same half marathon last year. she lives behind three children. >> 20 minutes of nonstop news. 16-year-old amy joy ner frances died after that fight nearly a year ago. tim furlong has been in court following the bench trial. what's the judge saying about this case? >> reporter: it's a bench trial so he's not doing much talking, doing a lot of listening. he's going to hear all the evidence. he's going to make the decision over guilty and any punishments

if need with. it happened on april 21st of last year. one of the girls threw a punch and continually built amy. it was captured on snapchat. prosecutors say after the beating amy laid on the floor and told a witnesses the girls had jumped her. then she died minutes later. in their opening statements defense lawyers made a bad decision that day but they argue amy had a rare heart condition and there was no way that the girls would know that punching amy would lead to her death. the defendants are charged as juveniles. child psychologist, school employees. we'll hear from a couple of the victims friends today. no one's willing to go on camera to talk about this case. i'm going to head back in the courtroom now and get an update. for now we're live in wilmington, tim furlong, nbc10

news. a violent scene in central louisiana yesterday. it brought down tree limbs causing them to take out power lines. that was just one of many areas across the southern u.s. that dealt with heavy storms. look at that lightning. more than 40,000 people in five states are without power. a woman and her daughter were killed in louisiana after a tornado with wind speeds in excess of 100 miles an hour flipped their mobile home. and those storms are part of the very same system headed our way overnight. >> chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is tracking the thunderstorm threat in your most accurate weather forecast. >> we just have cloudy skies now. there's no immediate threat of rain, no problem for the afternoon rush or the early evening hours but later tonight it's a different story. cloudy skies now and 65 degrees, so it's been a nice mild day but the clouds are starting to really increase ahead of that

next system. we do have a southeast wind over the ocean. it's 48 degrees so that's why ventnor's only 52 and it's 50 in ocean city while it's 63 in woodbine and of course even warmer farther to the north and west. so we have some heavy rain mainly from midnight till 4:00 a.m. so the timing helps us out because that will cause that system to weaken somewhat during the middle of the night rather than at this time of the day it is at its peak. 70s on tuesday and maybe even wednesday, but stronger thunderstorms coming on thursday. the first radar blips coming just west of reading now. that's a big area of rain. even some thunderstorms down to the south and that's just part of this gigantic system. you see the spin in there, the upper air system so that thing

is still going to be effecting us at the end of the week. that's how big it is and slow it's moving. as we go through the evening, look what happens by midnight. it's mild but we've got some heavy rain, maybe even thunderstorms as early as midnight, three in the morning, may be the peak of this thing. the orange indicating some of the heaviest rain. 61 degrees at 4:00 in the morning. it's going to be a warm day tomorrow. and then we're drying out by the morning rush. so you combine sunshine and we're in the 70s tomorrow and if we get enough sunshine and get in between the showers, we're going to go way up in the 70s but we could also see some scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon before we dry out again tomorrow night. how much rain? well, this is one particular computer model. by tomorrow morning, that's a pretty good amount of rain falling in the middle of the night so there could be some

ponding on roads first thing in the morning and with the afternoon storms, that adds to the total and again some more localized flooding but that's nothing compared to the storm that's coming in effecting us on thursday. meteorologist tammie souzza has more on that. >> something all of this rain is actually going to put us above average for the year so far. we've been below average but it looks like this, this storm may put us above and what comes later in the week is going to be actually very messy for your thursday. we're going to look out to the west. the same upper level low is out there churning around. watch what happened. this turns into a monster snowstorm for parts of the midwest and great lakes region. then it approaches us on thursday, leaving snow on the backside, bringing us the potential for strong, maybe even severe storms on thursday. that's the day that we have to keep an eye to the sky. this whole thing parts over us

right now tracking a stormy week and mother nature kicks it all off tonight. first ladder radar showing the heavy rain and thunderstorms they're heading our way and that same severe weather system already being blamed in the south. a woman drowned in her car after fast moving flood waters swept her car away. >> first meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is tracking the storm threat in your most accurate weather forecast. >> we're definitely going to get rain overnight. there is no doubt. don't leave the windows opened in the house or the car even though it's not going to rain in the next few hours. the clouds have increased across the area, no more of that beautiful sunshine. starting to see a few radar returns near reading but that's way ahead of the main system and not reaching the ground. there's plenty of rain down here

heavy rain, the thunderstorms, they're going to move in overnight, right, glenn? >> right. tomorrow's going to be extremely warm and perhaps more thunderstorms during the afternoon. it's cloudy in philadelphia and across much of the rest of the area. as you can see and we're going to be okay for the next couple of hours without any kind of rain, but there we go by 10:00 in philadelphia, we have the chance at least of some showers but by midnight, the chance would be for perhaps heavier thunderstorms and as we go into chester county, montgomery and bucks county, temperatures are in the 60s. this is above average, but not as warm as it's going to be tomorrow. west calen 61, west chester 65, st. david's warrenton at 64 degrees.

all of those places should be in the 70s tomorrow. you see the wind coming out of the southeast, the south 21 mile an hour sustained wind in wilmington and it's going to be a windy day tomorrow too. a few showers west of reading not reaching the ground yet. this stuff is and especially south of roanoke, virginia, we're getting some pretty heavy rain and thunderstorms, but you see the spin of this thing here. that's the upper air part of this gigantic storm and that's the part that could be affecting the phillies by friday. that's how slow this whole thing's going to be moving. hour by hour, dra at 8:00 but not so much by 11:00, 11:30. that comes through between midnight and 4:00 a.m. and as you can see things start really tapering off by the morning rush, maybe a couple leftover

showers and some leftover flooding from what we saw overnight. some areas of ponding on roads at the very least and the normal places that get flooded with heavy rains could be flooded and effect the morning rush tomorrow. later on during the day, we see a couple of thunderstorms move through, most places not seeing it but everybody's getting a west wind and some pretty, pretty gusty winds and warm, warm weather. there's tuesday evening as we dry out. i showed you one computer model a little bit ago with well over an inch. this is a different computer model predicting way less than an inch of rain between tonight and tomorrow, so that's why only some localized flooding is expected. can be a different story thursday and meteorologist tammie souzza has more on that. >> two things we're lucky for, no severe weather here and no snow. look at this storm system as it

approaches thursday. it's going to dump heavy snow across the upper midwest, the great lakes, all the way back to chicago. no snow for us but we could deal with some very strong, perhaps even severe storms on thursday. too early to tell. i can tell you the storm prediction center is keeping an eye on this. as we get into thursday, we're going to see some of these returns with stronger storms approaching the metro and in this area of low pressure moves in thursday night and it brings rain on friday. look at the amount of snow, an april snowstorm. how much rain? we're going to add to what we get already, maybe an inch or so tonight. by the time it's all done on friday we could be looking at some areas picking up as much as two inches of rain. now friday is an important day for one big reason. it's the phillies home opener. it's going to be breezy and cool. we'll be lucky if we can make it into the upper 40s. we'll see a little bit of rain and drizzle. that is throughout the game so you'll have to bring that rain

nbc10 news drew smith just arrived on the scene. drew, what have you learned? >> reporter: we now know four people have been shot as part of this two are dead, two others z-wrurd. we want to show you the scene down here where scene have been placing down evidence markers. one of those victims was shot multiple times including twice to his head. there are a lot of police department leaders down here. this is an intense investigation. we saw them looking for some of that evidence as well as searching around this property which is a public housing property. the director of public safety for philadelphia public housing is also down here on the scene. so far there have been no arrests. they have not found the gun. motive is unclear but that is a large scene, a lot of attention down here as well because there are four people shot multiple times. i want to tell you about the surviving victims. one was taken to the hospital in critical condition and the other in stable but some of those victims were shot multiple times. their ages rank from
