evening. what a week it's going to be. first alert merierologist erica mar teen is tracking some summer like temperatures in the 40s. >> conditions right now are obviously very warm. we have that high pressure system bringing everything from the south towards our region. we topped out at 59 degrees in the philadelphia international airport. and upper 50s for you, a lot warmer than we've had to see the past couple of weeks. you guys are looking good right now. fleetwood also seeing 57. and easten, upper 50s for you. the p.a. suburb seeing plenty of 50s.

they're not mourning alone. outside of this orthodox church he lights candles as a sign of solidarity. >> i'm hoping they can understand we're all brothers. we all bleed red. we're all abraham's children. >> the inside the church, leftover palms lay. >> i saw some people tearing, and people were shocked. the father says he had to break the news to his congregation. many were unaware. more than 100 people are injured including family and friends of those who worshipped right here in northtown. >> there isn't better than that.

live drew smith nbc 10 news. a 20-year-old man is in the hospital in critical condition after a man shot him in the face. someone picked up the victim and rushed him to the hospital. no arrests in this. in south jersey a man was shot and killed in broad daylight. police suspect it was a drive-by shooting. investigators have not released the victim's name or announced any arrests. philadelphia foyer fighters have their hands full this afternoon. this images are from a fire. it took crews just about an hour to get it under control. fortunately no one was injured. tonight a warning from the white house to the leaders of syria and north korea.

the u.s. will strike back if those countries violate international peace agreements. the warning comes as a navy strike group moves closer to the u.n. peninsula. today u.n. ambassador nikki haley blasted russia over syria's chemical attack this past week. >> russia's reaction was not oh, how horrible or how could they do this to the innocent children or how awful is that. they're initial reaction was assad didn't do it, the syrian government didn't do it. >> secretary of state rex tillerson arrived in europe earlier this evening for highly anticipated meeting that will happen this week with the russians. >> united muslim relief joined other student organizations to host a bankt to benefit the

was no severe weather or active emergency. that'll definitely keep you up. officials say a hacker accessed the emergency system and activated the sirens to repeatedly sound. foyer fighters had to go to each siren location and manually sut them off, a task that took about four hours to complete. the search is on for 32-year-old. he's suspected of stealing weapons from a gun shop last week. they say he set his car on fire, threatened to harm schools, and created a manifesto. authorities say he has also expressed anti-religious views. >> all of the action he's taken to this date may well just be the groundwork to get people to

listen to him. >> he is considered armed and dangerous. it was a mix of sorrow and celebration as rock and roll legend check berry was laid to rest today. family and friends attended the late musicians open casket. barry died last month at the age of 90. philadelphia's own now has a road named after her in south carolina. she still wearing the net she cut down paraded today with her team. the coach told them there's a lot more to come from this team.

the subaru cherry blossom festival in fairmont park. the event featured dance, drumming, and martial arts performances. i'm first alert meteorologists erica martine with your first alert forecast. we're trending above average for the next couple of days. right now we're seeing 52 in philadelphia. coast vil at 50 and dover 52 degrees. notice the wind direction from the south. so yes, we have warmer air moving in from south to north. that will be in place and set us up for a very nice trend at least through tuesday with temperatures pretty much giving us a taste of summer. and here's why. we have an area of high pressure

building just offshore off the carolina coast. and notice how massive and kp s expansive it is. we are seeing very warm temperatures by monday into tuesday. overnight lows on average we're seeing 42 degrees in philadelphia. right now we are seeing 44, that's our expected overnight low. so above average. atlantic city your expected overnight low a 45 degrees, but still bundle up nonetheless. lots of sunshine by 10:00 a.m. for philadelphia. 61 by 10:00 a.m. and the p.a. suburbs also seeing 60 by 10:00 a.m. lots of sunshine. and i advise you to get up nice

what are you going to do? >> go outside and play basketball. >> reporter: what are you going to do with that weather? >> i have to work. >> reporter: the kids who have the plans, and the adults who have the work. but it is good timing for some. philadelphia schools are on spring break this week. very busy day for firefighters who battled several blazes across the region. an nbc 10 viewer captured this video. you can see the flames shooting out at that apartment. crews had to rescue several people here. the american red cross has opened up a shelter to accommodate any misplaced families. >> out at north philadelphia where two garages went up in flames. crews had this fire under control in a matter of minutes.

fortunately, no injuries to report. crews were called to this home, and you can see the damage here on the second floor. three adults and a cat had to be rescued. tonight all are doing okay. some some news we will be keeping track of. tomorrow president trump's pick neil gorsuch will be sworn in. the republicans changed the rules so he could be confirmed with fewer votes. tackling controversial issues like religious freedom and gun rights. he's accused of killing a state trooper and wounding another in an ambush back in 2014. testimony continues tomorrow in the trial of three teenage girls charged in the death of a delaware high school student.

defeating isis remains its t priority. russia's failure to help eliminate chemical weapons in syria will be a major topic of discussion. today thousands of people took to the streets of downtown dallas for the maga march on immigration and racial equality. participants carried signs and waved american flags. this year's theme is focused on families, community, and empowerment. they say they want an end to immigration reform. >> it's christians, it's muslims, it's jews, hindus, people who may not have a belief. >> a similar march brought about half a million people to the streets here nine years ago.

okay, we all know exercise is good for us, but right now cycling is getting some new attention. it turns out psychollg can help relieve the symptoms of parkinson's disease. it can even slow down the progression of the disease itself. experts found cycling increases certain proteins in the brain that help movement and cognitive functions. >> when you have medication you be an increased activation and an increase activation following exercise. so exercise is in fact medicine. >> to get the benefit patients have to cycle three times a week for 80 to 90 rpms. ymcas are offering classes across the country. nbc 10 was at the church where hundreds of people

dedicated their time and energy to filling the baskets with toys and candy. >> there's a couple of domestic violence shelters actually. there's elementary schools with low income students in it so, it's a whole different variety. >> nine different stores offered up donations for the event. in center city thousands of people made the most of a sun chilled spring day by running and walking for a good cause. these folks ran for the environment, specifically clean air. the goal was to raise money and awareness. this 10k, by the way, has been happening for 36 years.
