forcibly removed from united airlines flight. good evening i'm jacqueline london. the airline says the man was ripped off the plane because it was overbooked. united says it needed four seats on that plane to get a crew to another flight. lauren mayk went to philadelphia international airport to find out your rights as a passenger. >> reporter: the video appears to show the narrow walkway of a plane. passengers on either side, then one forcibly dragged out. >> no, this is wrong. oh, my god! >> a witness tells nbc10 news it all happened on an overbooked united flight. leaving the choosing passengers at random and escalating to this. >> that blows my mind. >> reporter: we showed the video to passengers at philly international. i. >> i think it's ridiculous. they let him on the plane. they should've stopped him on

the gate. >> reporter: the issue was handled before passengers boarded. >> they shouldn't have let him on if they were going to pull him off. >> we checked the rules and it is legal for airlines to overbook but if you're bumped ask for your rights in writing. airlines are required to tell you how they decide who loses a seat and if your new flight gets you in more than an hour later there's a certain amount you should get paid. for this incident the ut natured airline ceo is apologizizing to customer and reviewing what happened. >> i'm lauren mayk, nbc10 news. >> turning to our weather. a warming trend is underway across our area. we could get close to some record temperatures. you're taking a live look at broad street from our kimmel center campus camera. an unseasonably warm day. those coats, they were left at home on main street. we go there. we spotted some people in shorts. other people rolled up those sleeves and broke out the

sunglasses today. what can you expect in your neighborhood for the rest of tonight and tomorrow. tammie souzza is here to take a look at that. >> it is so delightful. we hit 80 for the first time since last october. and right now look at the temperatures around the area. we cooled just a bit. philadelphia now at 78. we were 80 last hour. atlantic city 70. see the shades of green out here. if you're right along the shoreline we do have winds that are coming out of the south and the east. because we developed a sea breeze it is only in the 50s and low 60s right on the shoreline but the rest of us all very comfortable for tonight. rain in the distance. there's a huge system across the midwest that's going to arch up across the eastern great lakes and that has the chance of bringing us some showers late tomorrow night and wednesday. but that is so far away from where we are now. let's focus on tonight because it is a beautiful night if you want to go out, walk around,

burn off some of the dinner. 78 right now, we'll drop to 65 at 10:00 tonight and 2:00 a.m. we'll still be hovering at 60s. it's going to feel like 62 so it's going to feel warmer than it really is. we will talk about the rest of the week. of course i'll have your easter forecast because it's never too early to look at the weekend, right? >> all right. we'll see you then. a neighborhood on edge. today a child screams startle people living near the center of a child abduction investigation. last week a 4-year-old girl was kidnapped, sexually assaulted and found baerl dressed. walking from a park seven miles away from home. parents are now pleading for answers. >> once i hear bloody murder help, what do you do? >> police are taking every report seriously of course as they look for this kidnapper. tim furlong is live with how they are responding.

>> reporter: they're not just saying they're taking it really seriously. we saw it for ourselves today. this is now the county's top priority. families in some parts of northern delaware not letting their kids out of their site. >> we used to let her out front, now we can't even do that. >> reporter: many parents still shaken up. police say a man in a dark see dan lured her to the car and drove away and sexually assaulted her before leaving her in the back area which is a few miles from her house. >> no normal person will do that. he needs serious mental health. >> as soon as i heard them say help i came in and got the phone. >> reporter: she called police right away. >> when we came here the police was flooded with police. >> reporter: neighbors saw for themselves just how seriously new castle county police are taking this case. officers swarmed the area and started asking to see neighbor's surveillance video. this turned out to be a false

alarm. families praying other children or even their own kids don't become victims. >> if that was her, i don't know what i would do honestly. i would probably lose my mind. >> reporter: and police aren't offering any updates today on the investigation but they are hoping for a break in this case. if you have absolutely any information that might help crack this case you're asked to give the police a call right away. i'm tim furlong nbc10 news. >> an 11-year-old boy is recovering right now from a gun shot wound. he was walking home from the grocery store with his father in allentown when he was shot. police were called to fountain and liberty streets around 7:30 last night. he was hit in the wrist a man in his 20s was hit in the leg. investigators aren't sure who the target was. they are still looking for the shooter. >> new surveillance images at 6:00 of a man police say robbed a bank in radnor. the suspect walked into the bank of america on lancaster avenue

and demanded cash in big bills. he then drove off in an older toyota camry. >> the state trooper who found a sniper accused of killing a pennsylvania trooper and injuring another took the stand today. he says discovering eric frein was like finding a needle in a haystack. frein is charged with a deadly am push outside trooper barracks in pike county three years ago. the manhunt after that shooting spanned more than 300 square miles of the poke noe mountains. frein faces a potential death sentence if he's convicted. >> new surveillance pictures at 6:00 show two men are murder suspects. officers say these men drove away from a murder scene on north 25th street back in november. a 28-year-old man had been killed. there is a $20,000 reward for any information leading to a conviction. continuing coverage. the united states has a new supreme court justice. neil gorsuch was sworn in today.

gorsuch fills the supreme court vacancy which has been there for more than a year bringing the total number of justices to nine. >> we'll never forget that to whom much is given much will be expected. and i promise you, that i will do all my powers permit to be a faithful servant of the constitution and laws of this great nation. >> at 49 years old gorsuch is the youngest justice on the court by more than a decade. >> senate republicans changed those rules to confirm gorsuch. it took a simple majority of 51 votes needed instead of 60 to push him through. he says the rule change has him worrying about future nominations. >> that whatever parties in control, whatever president is in the white house, is going to be more inclined to nominate even more extreme potential justices both democrats and

republicans. >> justice gorsuch is expected to have an immediate impact on several important cases that could be heard. >> among them whether businesses can refuse to provide services to same sex weddings on religious grounds. also state laws that prohibit spending tax dollars to support churches and whether the second amendment gives you the right to carry a gun outside the home. >> if you drive on i-95 overnight be ready for lane closures. crews will be doing work between exit 6 and 7. that work will run every day from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. crews are working on a $16.6 million project to repair bridges in the area. >> do you love a little painting and day copath? a.c. moore opens in philadelphia tomorrow. nbc10 is giving you a sneak peek at the arts and crafts store. it is the largest a.c. moore in the country. the store is offering deals all week to celebrate the launch.

in delaware some of the states youngest residents could take a major hit because the budget cuts. child advocacy centers stand to lose nearly $100,000. it's part of governor john carney's proposed budget plan. there are three centers in the state and funding cuts could mean cutting staff or maybe closing one of the centers. >> the search is on for a group of teenagers who van dallize cars in northampton county. police say five teen ijers puncturing tires sunday morning. 17 of those cars were hit. some of them had all four tires flattened. >> passover security, dozens dead in an attack overseas. now changes to celebrations in south jersey. >> and we're going to hang on to this warmth. take a look at the numbers when you wake up tomorrow morning in the 60s unless you're out along the jersey shore. look where we're headed tomorrow, everybody gets 80s unless you're out along the

a close eye on security at home. 44 people were killed in twin suicide bombings that two palm sunday services. cydney long went to a jewish community center in cherry hill to talk about the attacks impact on their passover plans. >> reporter: well, they're responding with poise and positivity and security has been tight. what was a very packed jcc parking lot earlier for exercise and rec programs now turns to crowded, passover dinner tables for prayer, the mood is bittersweet. >> passover's all about freedom and today is no different. >> reporter: head of south jersey jewish federation spent the day off and cooking. she'll host 40 close friends and faunl at tonight's sundown dinner. >> i feel grateful that we live where we live, that we live in this country where you're allowed to be who you are. >> you dip it in the saltwater -- >> reporter: she shared with us

this passover, not fear. i'm cydney long, nbc10 news. >> two people are under arrest tonight for a home invasion in chester county. justin harris and monica dejesus are accused of bursting into a home sunday morning. police say the pair had a gun and fought with the two men inside the home before taking off the credit card. they take they determined dejesus was working as a prostitute and was upset because she wasn't paid after visiting the home. >> major road delays are coming to northampton county. in less than an hour, crews will start working on a gas line on route 378 in lower sauken township. this is all happening between mountain drive north and west radars lane. >> in chester county, a monster drove through malvern today. a peeved up truck crushed cars.

another incredible day. if you were headed out to the phillies game today and if you have tickets for tomorrow, you're very smart. it's gorgeous. flip flop weather, sunglasses and ladies it's going to be a good hair day. i call it terrific and toasty on tuesday. the last time we hit 80 degrees was october 21st, 2016. until today. the average day for 80 degrees is june 4th. we are exceeding it. the record for april of '95 we're not getting any near there and the all time record 106 that's not happening either, so go ahead and don't even focus on that. let's take a look right now, philly has dropped to 78, winds are out of the south to 14 miles an hour. high thin clouds out there but it was a beautiful day with blue skies. the doppler radar, nothing in the area. we have high pressure that's sitting right off the east coast and that usually means sinking warming air. as opposed to the low pressure

coming across the midwest bringing severe weather. this front is going to approach. the models were conflicted. two hours they had rain coming through wednesday morning. just last hour they took it to the north of us. we'll have to wait and see on this one if that front weakens or if it truly makes it in our direction. here's what's going to go on. and i will explaining why all of you along the sea shore are cooler. you see the winds coming in out of the south. the wind is coming in across that cooler ocean water which is in the 40s. but you're also getting a sea breeze developing, so inland we're getting a warmer air mass that's coming in but you're going to continue to see that wind coming in off of the water so along the jersey shoreline, even the beaches of delaware, you're going to be in the 50s and 60s tomorrow while the rest of us are in the low 80s. tomorrow morning, look at this. clear skies, winds out of the southwest. here comes that front. look at this tomorrow night. it looked like it was going to come into the area. it may clipped allentown, you

may see it at mt. pocono. the most we'll get now unless this front drops further south is just some clouds. look at this. the winds turn more out of the west by the time we get into wednesday, then we clear out on wednesday evening. everything is hunky dory. nice and quiet out there. here's your neighborhood forecast through tomorrow. 80s out there in the lehigh valley and berks county. west chester you're 82, phoenix shil, 82, newtown 83 degrees. fairmount 83. mt. airy in the 80s as well. south jersey area, 83 in trenton, glassboro you're going to be in the 80s. now we get to the shoreline, 60s and that's simply because of the effect that the cooler ocean water. delaware, rejoice you're also going to be in the 80s. i'll have your ten day trend coming up at the end of the show. jackie? >> i'm john clark. the phillies will have a new closer tonight. pete rose is going into their hall of fame and the eagles sign
