a student has lost his life.

bumped then dragged. an airlines forced a passenger off of his flight and now everyone is weighing in. a quiet neighborhood. it is unassuming. kids are having fun all of the time. >> he is a neighbor and father who can't believe what was happening right on his own street. a man accused of abusing his kwloiown children for years. he used sticks to pipes to a dog collar. we are live outside. if it weren't for a trip to that hospital the alleged abuse could have stayed hidden. >> reporter: that's right. she drove herself after she was beaten over the head to the point where she had a skull fracture. she old said her husband beat

their children a combined 900 times over the past years. he beat his own wife and children almost every day the past few years. police paperwork shows it happened inside this home which has aluminum foil over some of the windows. it is in a neighborhood described as quiet and family friendly. according to charging dockument they endured years of abuse. investigators say said his weapons of choice included sticks, lan sets, pvc pipe, pliers, shoehorn and even a dog shock collar that would leave burn marks. >> to see someone like that, it is horrific. >> reporter: he lived a few

houses down. he heard about the allegations and says as a father he is outraged. the police report goes on the say the children told officers their dad would strangle them until they passed out or were in a dream state and often beat them until they saw stars. he said some times he would use his foot, his knee like kick boxing. he would hold my hands and kick me right in the stomach. >> something like this is just -- why. that's all i could say is why. unfortunately that's the way a world is going. >> reporter: he did admit to hitting his kids with sticks around grabbing them by the neck and arm. police say they went into the house and they found that the kids used wooden boxes as beds. although he had a shock collar he never owned a dog.

an eight-year-old student is dead in california tonight. he was one of two students shot bay man who went to his wife's school and shot her dead before killing himself. a vigil is wrapping up outside of a church in san bernardino. they resited prayers for everyone impacted at north park elementary today. parents went rushing when they heard a gunman was inside. outside frantic mothers and fathers tried to reach their children. police took 600 students to a near by university before reuniting them with their families. >> all of the kids started running out. >> police say the gunman checked in as a visitor with the front office before heading to his wife's classroom. karen smith was shot to death

and two students standing behind her were hit. an unidentified nine-year-old is still in the hospital tonight. >> new at 11:00, one person had to be rescued after crashing a car into a home. crews were called just before 9:00 to this home. about a dozen firefighters helped get a man out of that car. he was taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. three people taken to the hospital after a crash backed up traffic for miles. you can see a van wedged under the tractor trailer. it happened in the southbound lanes. two people had to be pulled from the van. no word on the severity of their injuries. with the start of pass over tonight religious groups are focused on their faith and their security. dozens of people were killed yesterday in egypt after bomb g bombings at two christian churches.

forces the governor of alabama out of office. he resigned late this afternoon amid-charges he used state funds to hide an affair. he denied having a physical affair. the now former republican governor pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges. he agreed to never again hold public office. the supreme court is once again operating with a full bench after today's swearing in of kneel gorsuch. he officially took the oath of office with john roberts. then off to the white house for a ceremony in the rose garden. gorsuch said he is humbled by his appointment. ? i will never forget that much will be expected. i promise you that i will do all of my powers to be a faithful

it comes after two separate derailment just weeks apart. no serious injuries were reported. . closing arguments are set for tomorrow in the trial of three teenaged girls accused in the death of a high school student. she died ton bathroom floor last april shortly after she was attacked by one of those students. francis later died of cardiac arrest. medical examiner testified her death was the result of a homicide. anchts south jersey police officer accused of exposing himself to children is no longer facing charges. prosecutor says there was no crime. two weeks ago a police officer was in a bathroom stall at an apple bees when a 13 and 9-year-old opened the stall door. they say the police officer exposed himself. the prosecutor says he was just going to the bathroom.

the plane. >> i have to go home. i have to go home. >> the man ran back onto the plane after yelling about having to get home. the department of aviation placed at least one of those officers on leave pending a review. airlines are allowed to pump passengers from a flight but they do have to follow certain rules. passenger that is know those rules could make some cash. they could if they rebooked flight arrived more than one hour after their original flight. the amouns is based on the flight of your ticket and how long you're delayed. the most a passenger can receive is 1350. you should also know that the airlines are required to give you a written statement of these rights. also tonight, he's one of the most controversial players in history.
