tangy lemon bars, and creamy cheesecakes. fiber one, we are starting with breaking news. two women killed in this accident this morning. a look at what happened and ways to get you around this crash. you don't see this every day. a horse is corralled. find out how police lured the horse to safety. >> and what could help you live longer. we begin with breaking news. two women killed this morning in an accident involving a tractor trailer on roosevelt boulevard. we were over the scene along the northbound lanes of the boulevard in the section of philadelphia. >> we are live on the scene. what can you tell us?

>> reporter: well, you see police are still out here at this horrific scene. we have to tell you some of the damage you see is due to the rescue efforts. let me show you what happened. that tractor trailer was parked when some how the suv slammed into it. the driver of the tractor trailer was not in the truck at the time. two women in the suv were pronounced dead ton scene. one was in their 20s and the other in their 40s. both were passengers in the suv. a man that was the driver was transported to the hospital. we have learned he is in stable condition. it is important to note that the investigation has slowed down traffic here along the boulev d boulevard. now, trucks are allowed to park during certain times of the day. residents say they should change. we have more on what they said coming up in 30 minutes. nbc 10 news.

>> thanks for that. let's see how the accident is impacting travel in the area. >> yeah. we are watching travel delays towards the accident scene. again, just to repeat that it is in feltonville. you can see we are seeing the delay approaching the scene and even delay on the southbound side, so moving back towards the expressway. to get around it right now staying in the inner drive is the best bet. it is still getting by. the right lane is partially blocked. the outer drive is completely closed. if you want to avoid the scene all together you can take wyoming and get back onto the boulevard that way. we have been watching this overturned tractor trailer. here is the expressway. it is slow on the westbound side, vai and tracy. >> thank you. today is one of the holliest

pamela was at there when they opened up. right now she joins us live with more on what's expected to be a busy day ahead, pam. >> reporter: yeah, vai, we actually got here at 9:00 this morning before the doors opened up. there was already a line of people forming. take a look. the people here i'm guessing you already know what they are here for. this is a huge seller hire. i spoke to the owner. she tells me in the three weeks leading up to easter they have been through 10,000 pounds already. so the families that we spoke to get out early to avoid some of the crazier crowds. it's less about what they buy to put on the table an more about the memories they make with people they gather to eat with. >> we have the blessing of the table and keeping up my parents tradition besides the ham, of

course. >> reporter: easter dinner wasn't the only thing people were shopping for. we saw people picking up flowers for the table as well. when i come back we'll take you inside and show you some of the treats people were picking up while they were there. i'm pamela osborne, nbc 10 news. >> thank you. guests are back in their rooms after being evacuated when police found a 27-year-old man dead in one of their rooms. >> police found a man sick in the hallway last night at the suites. the hazmat team checked out a powder found in the room where the man died. we expect to hear from investigators what that powder was and what killed the man.

they say a 22-year-old man was shot in the back at 27th and sergeant early this morning. he died at the hospital. there had been a fight at a near by bar but police are not sure if the shooting is related. new this morning from delaware, two airmen are charged with sexually abusing a teenaged run away. they hid the girl. the teen told the social worker she stayed on the base and had sex with service members. those men are locked up waiting for trial. philadelphia police corralled a horse after he got loose from his stable in fa fairmount parks. officers managed to get the horse inside this trailer. we spoke to the animal's owner after he was reunited with his horse named big mama. >> i guess somebody left the door open or something.

she is very good. she is seven years old. >> how often do you take her out in. >> every day. i guess she got good sleep last night. >> we learned officers used carrots to calm big mama who blocked traffic for a little while. and new this morning afghanistan officials say three dozen isis fighter were killed after the u.s. dropped what the called the mother of all bombs to go after isis. >> they say the military may be planning a preemptive strike all hoe the pentagon disputes that. tracey pots is tracking it all from washington this morning. >> reporter: this is actual video of the strike. the commander of u.s. forces defending to drop the mother of all bombs on what she calls a safe haven for isis fighters coming from syria. >> just last month they shot and stabbed hospital patients lying in their beds. they are animals.

we have breaking news out of the midwest. the manhunt far man considered armed and dangerous is now over. >> police arrested him.

he is accused of stealing weapons from a gun store and sending an anti government manifesto. police started looking for him ten days ago after the gun store burglary. now check out this video. this is a fire at the bellagio hotel in las vegas. the rooftop fire forced them to close the strip for a while. fighting the fire was extremely difficult because of the location of the fire and access to it. no one was hurt. murder trial will resume on monday. police got a look at the diary frein kept while on the run in 2014. he cataloged every day at his time at large. he often detailed his struggles surviving in the woods during the 48 day manhunt. he is accused of shooting two state troopers in an ambush, killing one of them. robert tracy begins his

first day on the job today. he comes to the wilmington department from the chicago police department. bobby cummings is retiring after 32 years on the force. i'm meteorologist erika martin. temperatur temperatures right now are pretty mild. we are expected to hit upper 60s by today. a little warmer in allentown at 57 and philadelphia current temperature 58 degrees. we are seeing northeasterly and easterly winds which means an on shore influence. i'll explain why in just one moment. let's take a look. lots of 50s. upper 50s for you. allentown 55. nazareth 56 degrees. east is warmer, 58 degrees.

philadelphia seeing lots of 50s. some of us will see temperatures above average. port richmond 50 degrees. it looks like parkwood also seeing 58 degrees. so again, a nice trend. we'll stay above average for the next couple of days. really warm temperatures by easter sunday. let's take a live look outside. i tell you here, you're seeing brighter white clouds. we do have mid-and upper level moisture. the good news is it's not make it to the ground. this is our local perspective. we are seeing the whites here. telling me we do have the mid-and upper level moisture. this area of high pressure. notice the arrows. i love to show you where the wind is coming from. we have the northeasterly influence. that on shore flow for right now is keeping those clouds around just a little while and as that high pressure system continues to develop we are going to see

clearing skies by this afternoon. current winds right now on shore atlantic city 8 miles per hour. toms river at 5 miles. millville 3 miles per hour wind speeds. so just light winds across the entire delaware valley. that is because we do have that area of high pressure that is our weather maker. overnight low on average 43 degrees. tonight we'll see temperatures about 1 degree warmer than average. trenton 43 degrees. allentown 44. wilmington 44 degrees for you. some times i see so many 4s i keep going with that. easter sunday we'll break this down for you. we have been talking about the chance for showers possibly getting here later on in the day and perhaps one or two thunderstorms. right now the molds are pulling back on any types of showers

moving through. i'll stick with clouds for now especially by 3:00 p.m. the pa suburbs sticking with clouds on easter. don't be surprised that you'll see mostly cloudy skies for much of the day. it looks like lehigh valley you will see a passing shower. the latest models are showing a pull back on showers. jersey shore we are seeing a little bit of clearing by the afternoon hours. definitely enjoy that. i bumped this down 2 degrees on saturday. we were at 67. i went with 65 as our expected high. we jumped 20 degrees on sunday. 84 degrees there, 73 by monday and tuesday seeing low 60s. this would be below average. we start to see showers moving wednesday and thursday but for the most part at least we have a very nice stretch of weather. get rid of the jackets on easter sunday and have fun easter egg hunting. back to you. a new recall could impact

nancy says it is her 38th easter at the bakery. she loves seeing the same customers come back every year and every holiday. customers appreciate being able to add some of these sweet treats no their own family tradition. >> usually we have din we are my son. he makes a great lamb and ham spread. even though they enjoy the dinner they look for this at the end every year. >> reporter: and we talked to a lot of people who are trying to get together for easter dinner. while the food and deserts are special everyone really seems to agree they are most looking forward to people they will have gathered around their table. i'm pamela osborne, nbc 10 news. switching gears now to breaking news we are following. two women were killed this morning in an accident involving a tractor trailer. you can see it there. sky force 10 was over the scene

along the northbound lanes of the boulevard. we are live on the scene of the crash. >> you just learned more information about the victims. what do you know? >> reporter: well, those two victims were passengers in the car. according to police one was 25 years old and the other one was about 40 years old. they are both from the philadelphia area. according to police they were pronounced dead here on the scene. we want to give you a look at the scene. the medical examiner is here. they put up a white sheet as they premoremoved their bodies. some how he slammed into a tractor trailer parked on the outer lane of roosevelt boulevard. now first responders had to cut the suv open in an attempt to rescue those inside. no drugs or alcohol has been found here at the scene. the accident has caused a slow down in the inner lanes going

northbound on the boulevard. it is legal for tractor trailers to park here during certain times of the day. some near by residents say that should change. >> i am always concerned about the trucks parking there and cars parking in the outside lane in the boulevard. it's crazy. you so many cars running, speeding. i'm driving some times and i feel like you have to some times maneuver, do something to get out and be able to keep it over there. it's crazy. >> reporter: the driver was not around during the crash. he has since returned and has talked to police. investigators are canvassing the neighborhood and trying to look for surveillance video to figure out exactly how this happened. nbc 10 news. >> thanks for that. short of impacting travel in the area. >> yeah. jessica boyington, we saw the

shot there. cars are getting by there but slowly. >> yes. that is still closed off and considering there were fatalities on this accident scene as well there will be an accident investigation underway. these type of accident scenes tend to stick around for quite some time. this is where the crash was. on the northbound side right now you want to stay towards the inner drive. part of the right lane of the inner drive is a little bit compromised because of this accident scene and barricades they have for the outer lanes. there are lanes open there. you will see slow downs appro h approaching there. you will be in delays. you can still do that. you can take wyoming to whittaker. cameras around south street. here is the westbound side. you can see a disabled vehicle here. here on the westbound side is what's moving towards the center city area.

>> it lost momentum. >> we thought it was one of those stops supposed to fool you. >> incredible. >> no one was hurt. the family took this picture shortly after the rescue saying they are grateful they made it out of the park alive. in idaho one college student in critical condition and three others after an experimental rocket exploded. it happened near the university of idaho. of they say fuel in the rocket burned too quickly leading to the blast. one said he heard the explosion at his home five miles from the campus. the parents of a nine-year-old boy say that his recovery is going well. the san bernardino school district released this photo. nolan was shot and wounded when his teacher's estranged husband

killed his wife and eight-year-old student. his family is asking for prayers for his recovery and for families of the other victims. remembering dan rooney that died yesterday at the age of 84. his father founded the steelers in 1933, the year after rooney was born. dan was president when it won four super bowls in six years. he also served as u.s. ambassador to ireland under barack obama. they released this statement. dan rooney was a great friend of mine and of the people of miss burg and someone who represented the united states with dignity and grace on the world's stage. this weekend nikki will be remembered. the walk is tomorrow, five years to the day the 18-year-old died in a car crash caused by a

distracted driver. it is a program notifying drivers using a hand held device while driving is illegal. finds that being unemployed can increase your chances of having a stoechlkt they hoped middle-aged adults were more likely to have a stroke and die from it. the findings are unique since it is typical for workers to have jobs for life. experts suggest job security could help reduce the risk of stroke. and running could help you live longer. that's according to a new study that shows one hour running can add seven hours to your life, more than any other form of exercise. regular running could give you about an extra three years. > an arizona teenager makes

clouds. d we do have an on-shore influence. temperatures will be seasonable across the delaware valley. let's focus on the jersey shore. atlantic city 54. dennis township current temperature for you 60 degrees. delaware also seeing really nice temperatures. again, temperatures for today above average. the only thing we are seeing is a few clouds. everything will start to improve as an area of high pressure dominates. farther south we have milton at 61 and reading at 62 degrees. notice the winds right now. we are seeing northeasterlies and easterly. our local radar and satellite there. it is telling me we have

moisture mt. miin the mid-to up levels. any greens not making it to the ground, just some returns. a lot of times that moisture stays in the upper levels of the atmosphere. here it is sitting to the north of us. we always have that clockwise influence here. that's why i have arrows pointing in our direction. it is keeping clouds around a little bit plolonger. we'll see clearing skies at least for later today. of course we are tracking what to expect for easter sunday. so temperatures will top out pretty much in the 80s with the exception of the jersey shore. south jersey 83 degrees. i have kept the rain icon here for the lehigh valley just because i do think we could see a scattered shower moving in from the northwest from the southeast. i do have a mix of sun and clouds. i think temperatures climbing into the low 80s as the warm

front sweeps on through. philadelphia your expected high well above average, 84 degree. let's take a quick look. we could see showers for easter sunday. for easter weekend models always change. we have so many we look at here because we want to bring you the most accurate forecast. it picks up on the clouds hovering around the delaware valley. i will go ahead. not too many pause points. i want to show you what we could expect. we are seeing clouds over the delaware valley but really we start to pick up on those showers moving from northwest to southeast. i just don't think a lot of it will get here simply because the atmosphere because when it's too dry it evaporates any rain heading in our direction. let's take a look at what you can expect. pittsburgh right now you're expecting temperatures to top out in the mid-70s on saturday

and sunday you may see an isolated thunderstorm. that's as you're headed in that direction. washington d.c. temperatures topping out at 85 or 86 degrees on easter sunday. 75 for the expected high on sunday. if you're traveling towards new york mid-to upper 60s on saturday. boston seeing nice temperatures as well. ten day on ten. it will be unseasonably warm especially on sunday. we are going from 65 on saturday to 84 on sunday. it has to tell everybody at home we are getting a warm front sweeping through. we had a cold front behind that. so cooler temperatures follow that cold front and we'll dip into the low 60s by tuesday. our average high is usually 63 or 64. we'll see 62 on tuesday. showers on wednesday. 64 the kexpected high temperatures. from there on out pretty much seeing 60s.
