>> doing a double take. how an ostrich got loose on the streets of chester county. right now at 11:00, new video shows the random attack that sent two teenagers to the hospital. and tonight the victims tell us they're worried this will happen again. good evening, i'm jacqueline london. >> and i'm jim rosenfield. we first told you about this story last night. the kids were leaving hunting ton park. >> and they tell us they were attacked again. brandon? >> reporter: family members say it was some of the same group that jumped the two teenagers at this intersection of erie and whitaker. this was the company's first day without any parents or friends. it happened as the couple left the carnival and walked over here to be picked up. that's when a large group jumped

them and it was all caught on camera. the now viral cell phone video starts with one punch on an unsuspecting jayla santana. seconds later, santana and her boyfriend are attacked by a swarm of teenagers, a tragic end to a first date. that's why santana can't sleep at night. sdplz tha >> that's all i hear is me screaming. >> she was still in a neck brace when we spoke to her today. she and her boyfriend showed us their scars. this was santana after the brawl, in an emergency room with a concussion. >> i blacked out at one point. >> as soon as she came in, she had to go straight into trauma. she was still screaming the whole time, walking and limping there. >> reporter: miguel didn't look good, either. his face scraped and his back badly bruised. the couple were attacked after leaving a carnival tuesday. they don't know their attackers but miguel's dad shared this surveillance video which he says is the same group threatening

him at his store in frankfort, hours before interviewing him today. the couple plan to be at school monday. >> i'm just grateful for all the support i'm getting from my family and all my friends. it's not going to stop us from going out on, like, other dates. >> reporter: jayla santana said one of her attackers reached out to her on social media and apologized. her family says they're worried more attacks may happen as soon as tomorrow. philadelphia police have not made any arrests. live in huntington park. a fire sent a woman to the hospital in critical condition tonight. the woman was trapped inside until firefighters could rescue her. investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire. also at 11:00, a teenager is in the hospital with serious injuries after he was shot in washington's brooks county. firefighters over the scene at

stauffer road. police used a taser but people thought it was a gunshot. officials say amtrak police used that taser to arrest a man at the station, and the noise triggered a stampede. the rumors of an active shooter even made their way outside of the station, with people running out of a nearby macy's. >> adults, kids, everybody just running. everybody is just really nervous. >> reporter: it was a stampede? >> it was a stampede. >> also at the penn station, a new jersey train carrying 10,000 passengers finally fixed after being stuck for three hours. they suffered a problem after a power outage. the train finally pulled into

the station around 6:30 tonight. this is just the latest issue for nj transit this month. you may remember back on april 3rd, a train derailed at penn station at the height of the morning rush. that shut down service out of manhattan for more than two hours. four people were hurt in that derailment. just ten days before that, a train slipped off the tracks and bumped a train also at penn station. we have details of this deadly crash on the boulevard. family members tell us they were on their way to work when their suv slammed into a truck that was parked on the boulevard. >> nbc 10's drew smith spoke to the people when that crash happened. drew? >> reporter: an extremely tough night for people who knew these women. they died right here after an impact with a big rig, and you can see there is still debris from that car wreck. darrell holland woke up to headlines about this deadly

wreck. >> i was just sitting there thinking. like always, something is going on up there at the roosevelt boulevard. >> reporter: at that point police had not yet come to his door to say his daughter, aisha holland, had died in the collision. >> it happens to somebody else but it doesn't happen to you. you kind of take things for granted. >> reporter: the 25-year-old was with her friend, marche flowers, who also died. marche's husband was driving them to work. he is recovering in the hospital. her mother was already grieving. first she learned her friend died of cancer, and now this. >> it's too much. i haven't slept until this morning, until lately. i'm so hysterical from crying. >> reporter: the suv so badly damaged, neighbors could barely recognize it. >> that's where his car used to be. he puts it there. >> very tragic. >> reporter: the tractor-trailer was parked legally, but that's

now sparking a debate. >> i can't figure out why that tractor-trailer was there, anyway, parked on the side and nobody could see it? come on. that's dangerous. >> reporter: but nothing will bring back two lives. a family now reflecting on the last words they'll ever speak to their daughter. >> i told her, i love you, i love you, asia. >> reporter: so there is the proof that you can park here any time except during the evening rush. of course, people do go very fast here. police are not saying if speed was a factor in this wreck just yet, but they are investigating. we're live in feltonville. i'm drew smith, nbc 10 news. happening right now, it's almost noon in north korea and the country is already celebrating its most important patriotic holiday. this is a live picture from that celebration. but here in the u.s., concern is growing over north korea's possible test of a nuclear warhead. a top aide for north korea's leader lashed out, accusing president trump of pushing the

world towards war by tweeting out that north korea is, quote, looking for trouble. the u.s. itself isn't facing a threat, but it's a different story for allies japan and south korea and 78,000 u.s. troops in the area. president trump was asked if the use of the mother of all bombs in afghanistan was meant to send a me say sassage to kim jong-un. >> i don't know if it sends a message. it doesn't make any difference if it does or not. north korea is a problem. the problem will be taken care of. >> reporter: right now two u.s. destroyers are within 300 miles of japan and south korea and they are equipped with anti-missile defenses. back here at home, two air force members in delaware are accused of sex crimes against a minor. dale washington picked up someone from dover last summer. he and a friend had sex with the woman several times at the air

force base. washington confessed to the crimes. aaron hernandez has been found not guilty to the 2010 murders of two men in boston. hernandez said he opened fire on the car in boston because he felt disrespected when one of them bumped into him and spilled his drink. the jury deliberated for six days before reaching that verdict. >> he was innocent of those crimes and the jury spoke with one voice, and we were delighted. >> reporter: they did find hernandez guilty of a weapons charge. he was already serving life in prison for a 2013 murder. delta airlines is giving the green light to offer up to $10,000 for passengers giving up seats on overbooked flights. delta is hoping it will prevent them facing the pr nightmare that hit headlines this week. united police were caught on camera dragging a passenger off

tgif, right? >> yes. >> and the weather is beautiful. >> maybe that's why two animals tried to make a break for freedom today. >> in this case a really big ostrich was running for his life in chester county. look at the size of that thing. cell phone video caught the running bird. plils are are are trying to contain the animal. it escaped from a bird farm. no animals were hurt. the ostrich was captured finally and will spend time in its new temporary home in haxtun. >> can you imagine seeing that running past your window? a scenic trip through fishtown this morning. a horse named big mama had quite the trip. she escaped from the urban riding club in strawberry mansion and made it all the way to sugar house casino on delaware avenue before being corralled. >> he was coming so i jumped. he hit me. i fell down. i say, wow. >> big mama is doing just fine.

worship pers gathered at hope church to pray and meditate. good friday is generally a day of fasting and repentance. to the jersey shore and the story we've been following for years. market homeowners are giving up the state rt to the dune plan. it was started after hurricane sandy. some of you have already started the long holiday weekend. >> but the best is yet to come. glenn schwartz has the holiday forecast. glenn? >> you're not going to see temperatures in the 80s here. at cape may or other places along the jersey shore? it would be nice but there is a sea breeze coming and it going to make things cooler. cape may itself is 50 degrees.

49 in ventner and holgate. as long as the wind is coming off the ocean, it's limited to how warm it can get during the day. it's kind of mild right now -- well, across the area for this time of night. but if you think this is mild, wait until you see the temperatures tomorrow night at this time. they should be in the 60s. for low temperatures sunday morning in the 60s. we got to 68 today, 67 tomorrow because of all the clouds coming in, but sunday, 85 degrees. and that's not a stretch, either. it's going to be easy to get to 80. we've got clear skies right now. we head back to the west. we've got some clouds in ohio, thicker clouds in indiana and showers there, so some of that will be moving eastward. it's not going to get here fast enough to bother you during the day tomorrow. wind out of the south. that means sea breeze at the shore.

you see clouds here but you don't see raindrops. the chance of rain is not zero but it's probably less than 10% in any spot tomorrow. voorhees 64, but longport, avalon in the 50s for the high temperatures tomorrow. watch the clouds come in. lots of clouds during the day tomorrow, but you don't see any of that green for the raindrops. it's just cloud cover. then on sunday we get more sunshine, more of a west wind that pushes the temperatures into the 80s and then in the evening, that's when we get some of those showers coming through. quick-moving showers. so it's not going to last for very long and then we clear out again for monday. so any showers we get over the weekend is going to be brief and likely light, and most of us are not going to see it at all. saturday a lot of clouds around. no rain expected. temperatures pretty close to average, a little bit above,

perhaps. engineer sh jersey shore, 58 degrees. sunday it's a lot warmer, but at the beaches, only 70 degrees. if you go closer to new jersey, it's probably 80 degrees. the delaware beaches will be in the 80s on easter sunday. then next week, things start cooling off a little bit. we'll have more on that later. >> all right, glenn. what goes around comes around. you've heard that expression. a guy tries to do some damage with this bench but gets some bad karma instead. you'll see what happens, next.
