the day on easter sunday. >> i'm going to kill this guy right here. >> a video shows steve stevens getting out of his cash and approaching robert godwin apparently chosen at random telling his victim he is going to kill him because of a woman. the victim tries to cover his face but is shot at point-blank range. >> she is the reason. >> reporter: moments earlier stephens said that the motivation is a woman he is dating. >> alost everything. i lost everything i had, man. >> reporter: 37-year-old stephens says he snapped because of the woman and the family of the elderly victim is left to grieve and wonder why. >> they just don't know what he took from us. he just don't know. >> we not new to this. >> reporter: a vigil to remember the father and grandfather who is described as kind and loving.

the search for the gunman spanned multiple states including pennsylvania with fear that stephens could be here. with 911 calls pouring in, police canvassed fairmont park and two dozen schools were placed on lockdown. a memorial stands on the spot where godwin was gunned down. >> on the facebook page that is no longer active he claims he killed others but that has not been confirmed. >> and authorities continue to look for a white ford fusion with temporary ohio tags. they are asking stephens to come forward and to reach out to family for help. a $50,000 reward is offered for information leading to his capture. another case of cemetery vandalism. police in cherry hill will investigating after statues were

beheaded. police say they were alerted to the vandalism yesterday. it's unclear when the gravestones were damaged. a vacant restaurant is now a crime scene after burned human remains were found inside today. police were called to the old sushi kingdom restaurant after construction workers made the discovery. investigators are waiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death. the pennsylvania trooper who survived an ambush today took the stand at the eric frein trial today. he said the gunfire sounded like a firework exploding and testified that getting shot felt like i was hit in the back with a baseball bat. brian dixon was killed in the ambush. we are learning details about what caused the death of a philadelphia firefighter. she was killed in december of 2014 while battling a house five. today the fire department and

osha released reports on her death including photos from inside the home where craig was trapped and later found unconscious. another photo shows craig's breetszing mask with a hole in it. both reports said the cause of her death was this. the fire department also acknowledges there was no coordinated effort to respond to the seven may day calls made by craig. the department said it has made several changes in response to her death. the officers held hostage in a delaware prison are expected to file a federal lawsuit. floyd was killed during the deadly standoff in february. new at 11:00, a tale of two town halls tonight. two south jersey congressmen held events ten miles apart but voters had different reactions. but voters said they just want answers from their leaders in

could have an impact on the jury. they are expected to visit the site during the critrial. the mayor's office released a report that shows the prison population is down 12% from last year. the city would like to reduce it by a third over the next three years. penndot says that nearly 1200 deaths were reported on the roads last year. that is the lowest since 1928. there is mixed progress though. more people were killed at intersections and pedestrian deaths. septa wants to make it easier to take the train to and from philadelphia international airport. starting today, customers using the regional rail can purchase quick trips. a did posable ticket valid for one-way travel and must be used on the day it is purchased. preserving the past ore diving to the future. why neighbors disagree on plans

the organization's building is getting ready for a makeover. >> but some are worried about the impact it's going to have on the neighborhood. we have more on this. brandon? >> reporter: bottom line the point of the meeting was to get the leaders and the homeowners on the same page, developers say this building which houses the current boys and girls club is obsolete and in need of change. but homeowners say the renovation project could tie up traffic on this small one-way street outside the building. they want people to know that this is for the kids. everyone you see standing here is 100% on board with the renovation project in germantown. but others have reservations like marcus who has lived here for 50 years. >> my biggest concern is you are on a business strip. and our business district right

now is in a depressed state. >> reporter: he is worried that construction and an increase of visitors may complicate traffic and parking which could stall progress. >> i want to make sure we have a fair shot at being a positive and moving forward progressive neighborhood. >> reporter: but he is willing to put the concerns to the side for the benefit of the children the boys and girls club serves. 700 children who live within a mile and a half of this city. 50% of them are living below the poverty level. >> it's important that everybody embraces the kids of the neighborhood. >> reporter: the proposal includes a music studio, a cafe, a technology center and a youth hockey rink to teach kids hockey free of charge. the reverend who organized the event believes that tonight cleared up misconceptions. >> this area is fighting for its new identity.
