draft day, payday. businesses are looking to cash in when thousands of football fans descend on center city this week. an airline employee is suspended tonight after a mom claims she was hit with her baby in her arms. how safety upgrades could impact your next ride. we begin tonight with breaking news from delaware county where a pregnant woman has been shot. let's get right to andrea cline-thomas live near the scene in chester. what have you learned? >> reporter: that woman is 12 weeks pregnant. police say she was driving in this complex right behind me when she was shot in the arm.

that woman was taken to the medical center with non-life-threatening injuries. police were on scene. this all happened just after 9:00 this evening. now within the last 20 minutes or so a tow truck pulled in to take the car out at the apartment complex and ninth street was reopened to traffic. we have learned that the woman is 27 years old. again, her injuries are non-life-threatening. she is expected to recover from this. reporting live in chester, andrea cline-thomas, nbc10 news. now to our weather. after a rainy start to the weekend, the wet weather is moving out and things are shaping up to be a much sunnier sunday with the wind blowing out there. for more on that, let's go to meteorologist erika martin. >> we do have a sunnier sunday in the forecast, so i'm sure

everybody's looki ining forward that. doppler radar right now. this is your one-hour loop. showing the green moving offshore. also showing a clearing as those showers move offshore. pretty much not effecting us tonight. the good news is we do have a little bit of a high-pressure system building for tomorrow. current temperature 52 degrees and northerlies at 30 miles per hour. dover at 52. wilmington, 51. northerly winds keeping everything just a little bit chillier right now. lots of 50s, a few 60s for the lehigh valley. a mix of sun and clouds. you're still going to need your jackets, but maybe the sunglasses because the sun will peek on through. and i am tracking 80s by next week starting on thursday. in fact, it's going to be a

trend. so right now we'll enjoy this warmup for tomorrow, a mild one, and plenty of sunshine for your sunday, but denise, tracking those 80s by thursday. more information coming up in the ten-day on 10. the nfl draft takes over the parkway in just a few days. and local businesses are counting on it to boost their bottom line. the party on the parkway is less than a week away. while crews are getting the stage outside the art museum ready, nearby businesses are preparing for an influx of people. we are live along the parkway with more on the impact of this massive event. drew? >> reporter: denise. there's going to be so much to do down here. check it out. they have the nfl museum tent they're building right around on the other side. they've got the nfl shop they're going to be setting up. we're pretty far from the museum down the parkway. this is the biggest footprint of any nfl draft festival in history, so businesses around here are hoping to make history

next week too. it's all the buzz at logan's square. >> are you ready for the draft? >> reporter: she plans on pouring a ton of draft beers while teams make their draft picks just outside her bar. >> i'm super excited. it's going to bring in a lot of revenue for everybody. it's going to be so much fun. >> reporter: the city of philadelphia is hoping this is the biggest and best draft yet, but even if it meets what chicago managed, it will be big. the windy city had 200,000 fans come down to its draft grounds. it generated $81 million in economic impact, plus 2,000 temporary construction and labor jobs. >> we're preparing to have one of the busiest weekends we've ever had in city tap house history. >> reporter: city tap house will have beer specials. they're expecting some big names to be staying at the hotel next door. >> a lot of the players that have been invited, along with their families. >> reporter: parkway museums

at the art museum. that is 30-foot drop. it happened around 2:30 this afternoon. he was taken to the hospital. we're working to learn his condition. vandals cause at least $20,000 in damage at a montgomery county swim club. they hit the upper moreland swim club with graffiti and overturning a fridge and destroying kwidestroy ing equipment. authorities issued an amber alert this morning for 5-year-old dion dixon and jahad bailey. the boys were found safe this afternoon. investigators have not said if the babysitter was taken into custody. a 12-year-old in delaware is accused of being behind a string

of car break-s ins. around 1:00 this morning the oyy was seen rummaging in cars. he is accused of stealing from cars in the same area earlier this month. tomorrow new regional rail schedules go into effect. those are all posted on nbc10.com. positive train control is being installed on the tracks. it's designed to automatically stop a train before crashing. ptc was not on the tracks back in 2015 when an amtrak train crashed in port richmond killing eight people. and airline employee is under investigation after a woman says he hit her and almost hit her baby on a plane in san francisco last night. it happened on an american airlines flight from san francisco to dallas. the flight attendant reportedly

ripped the woman's stroller away from her. another passenger demanded to know the attendant's name. those two got into a screaming match. the worker has been suspended. american airlines released a statement saying, quote, the actions of our team member captured here do not appear to reflect patience or empathy, two values necessary for customer care. in short, we are disappointed by these actions. this comes less than two weeks after a man was forcibly dragged off an overbooked united airlines flight. it created a public relations nightmare for the airline and caused its stock value to plummet. still ahead, mourning the death of a 70s sitcom star. coming to pennsylvania, president trump announces a big rally. when he'll be here and why the trump administration considers it so important. and a return of the flying hawaiian, why this world series

today he's coming to pennsylvania a week from today. he's heading to harrisburg next saturday. he'll be marking his 100th day in office. the big rally, as the president called it, is scheduled to be at the pennsylvania farm show complex and expo center. making change happen. how nbc10 joined other comcast employees in giving back to the community in a big way today. congressman macarthur promised to protect our health care.

but when right-wing politicians tried to pass a disastrous health care repeal bill that raises costs and cuts coverage, macarthur wouldn't oppose them. macarthur wouldn't protect us from a bill that raises premiums and causes 24 million to lose their insurance. wouldn't oppose a massive "age tax" on people over 50. but supported a 600 billion tax break for the wealthy. tell tom macarthur - stop trying to repeal our health care.

some say the government needs to focus on facts, and others protested the president's proposed cuts to the national institutes of health and the environmental protection agency. it is comcast cares day. the country's largest single day corporate volunteer event, and 2500 people volunteered at 50 projects in the philadelphia region. now some people went to the boys and girls club to spruce up the building. the former philly showed up to support all the hard work. comcast is a parent company of nbc10, and our nbc10 team took the lead at the share food program, packing up boxes, painting the loading docks, and supporting the effort to feed the hungry. >> we have a very small staff of about ten folks, so volunteers for us actually make it happen. they make the world go around. >> there's so many hungry people in philadelphia and specifically children. i think it is a worthy cause for

news is we do have an area of high pressure, a weak one developing. it means high and dry conditions for your sunday, so more sunshine in the forecast. so let's break down your out the door forecast. temperatures in the upper 40s. early tomorrow morning still seeing some clouds stick around, but by 10:00 a.m. more sunshine peeks on through. for the pa suburbs, 51 degrees. notice this trend for tomorrow still below average for this time of year. the lehigh valley, 41 degrees by 10:00 a.m. 51 for you. the jersey shore seeing that chilly trend for tomorrow, but we are seeing some sunshine. of course that's what we've been looking for considering just how chilly it was for today and just how rainy and soggy it was pretty much all day long. the ten-day on 10 brings us warmer temperatures. temperatures below average for sunday, monday, and tuesday. on wednesday we'll climb into the 70s. we have some showers in the

forecast. monday and tuesday, perhaps an a.m. shower on wednesday. more importantly, it is all about the nfl draft thursday an friday. it's something i'm tracking very closely because we could see some showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorm. with temperatures that warm, we could see a cool front move through. right now models don't agree, so i'm going with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of some showers. then we'll hit 85 degrees on saturday with a mix of sun and clouds. so a very nice bump up in those temperatures. >> but with that could come the possibility of thunderstorms. >> of course. we're tracking that for the draft. hey, denise. hey, erika. how about the phillies?
