new images surfaced of a man police say is responsible for monday night's suicide bombing in manchester, england. they say he is likely linked to a rnlg laer network. cameras captured these images they believe to be salmon abedi. they appear to show him at a shopping center wearing a back pack believed to have been used to carry the bomb. police are searching for possible accomplices with eight in custody so far including one of abedi's brothers. a woman arrested was released without charge. and in libya officials arrested another brother and abedi's father. live from manchester with more. what do we know? >> reporter: good morning. we're now learning as you say that authorities in libya arrested hashim abedi, the younger brother of the manchester attacker arrested

over suspected links to isis. turns out authorities had him under surveillance for a month and a half, libyan authorities, they moved in over intelligence he may have been planning an attack in libya's city tripoli. he. the father was arrested over links to isis. he spoke denying any link to militant groups so we'll be waiting to see what kind of intel comes out of that. another brother of the attacker is in custody here at the moment so the authorities are trying to place together a picture of -- a bigger picture what kind of influences this young man might have had, what could have led this 22-year-old to choose to commit such an act of carnage. another significant development, "the new york times" publishing photographs of the explosives used by the suicide bomber, this came from leaked information by american officials from the britts, apparently we're now learning from the bbc the british authorities will not be

sharing information with the americans over this investigation because of those leaks but those photographs reveal a high level of sophistication in that bomb, there was a hand detonator. it wasn't simple. that means there could be a more experienced bomb maker out there. that's the focus right now. >> chilling to see those. lucy, thank you. now to a stunning development in today's special election in montana. republican house candidate greg gianforte allegedly body slammed a reporter for the guardian ben jacobs. jacobs was trying to ask about the gop health care bill when the incident happened. witnesses corroborated his claims and "the guardian" uploaded this audio from the confrontation. >> talk to you about that later. >> there's not going to be time. >> speaker shane please. >> sick and tired of you guys. the last guy that came in here you did the same thing. get the hell out of here. get the hell out of here.

the last guy did the same thing. you with "the guardian"? >> you broke my glasses. >> you did the same damn thing. >> you body slammeded me. >> the campaign released a statement saying after asking jacobs to lower the recorder jacobs declined. greg then attempted to grab the phone that was pushed in his face. jacobs grabbed greg's wrist and spun away pushing them to the ground. the sheriff who had previously donated to the campaign issued the candidate a citation for misdemeanor assault. in making matters worse, multiple montana newspapers rescinded their endorsements overnight, right before voters-ed to the polls. jacobs explained how he felt. >> it's very strange and mortifying because i don't mind being blown off by politicians, and i also am always terribly uncomfortable being part of a story. and now it seems like i became

the story. >> officials say after the confrontation jacobs was examined at a hospital and released. president trump is now in brussels and has a heavy day ahead of him. while world leaders may welcome the president many locals are up in arms over his visit. hans is in brussels. how are they reacting to the president and how is he being received? >> reporter: he was received with protests yesterday afternoon. a couple thousand here, gathered here in front and chanting things, also a few hats that said we love our hell hole. remember candidate trump used to call brussels a hell hole. he did during the campaign. another thing candidate trump said during the campaign is he called nato obsolete, today he meets with nato, there is a big gathering not an official meeting but it's a dinner. and at that dinner each leader of the 28 leaders macedonia is

joining so 29, each have about three minutes to talk. they want to hear especially in the eastern part of the nato alliance they want to hear assurances from president trump that he is committed to the alliance. rebel he said secretary mattis here, vice president pends was in munich saying nato is part of the u.s. agenda. a lot want to hear that from president trump. president trump is expected to talk about not only global terrorism but other countries and their commitment to the 2% of gdp spending that amount on their defense budget. >> certainly another day of watching the president and all of the activity out of there. thank you. while the president's trip appears to be going smoothly the white house dealing with a headline on russia and the trump campaign from "the new york times." the report says in part quote senior russian intelligence and political officials were discussing how to exert influence over donald trump through his advisers according to three current and former american officials familiar with

the intelligence. the conversations reportedly uncovered by u.s. spies last summer, apparently focused on paul manafort, the former trump campaign manager and michael. the flynn, the president's first national security adviser. both have previously denied allegations of collusion. much anticipated score card is out on the plan passed by house republicans to replace obamacare. the budget office estimates the plan would leave 23 million more americans uninsured by 2026. tracie potts joins us. what's the reaction there? >> reporter: the reaction to that has been as you might expect from democrats but also republicans who would have to go home and explain this to a lot of constituents who are currently on obamacare and worried about the new plan. here is how it connects to the budget. the president's budget proposal assumes that this republican plan passes, so therein lies the

connection. the budget itself has some lawmakers here worried, in part because of the math that even republicans say doesn't add up, the same $2 trillion used to justify big tax cuts, the biggest in history the white house says, and to balance the overall budget, defending the numbers saying that was done deliberately. some of the cuts the white house says aren't cuts like medicaid, slowing down the growth of that government insurance for lower working class americans, for people who have lower incomes, that's got some republicans here worried. other prominent republicans now saying the president's budget is dead on arrival as a result of that. also, the build-up of money for defense in lieu of money for the state department. and diplomacy. looking at a 30% cut, not everyone's comfortable with that. the pentagon has even said that more money for diplomacy could mean less for defense.
