down, moving quickly. a moment ago birds flying all over. excuse me if i get dive bombed by live birds on the screen. 75 in philadelphia. winds out of the west, 21 miles an hour. a little breezy out there today, still a big improvement over yesterday. get to the spotty showers. doppler radar sweeping the sky. you can see spots of green out there. go a little closer. into motion, can you see them pretty much fizzling out as they approach the coast. so approaching a more -- ah, a more stable environment along the beaches. you can actually see some of the spotty clouds all this that you see, the clouds over philadelphia. we continue to watch all of this on a northwest flow. streaming through the area. none of this is a washout. again, just a quick sprinkle, a quick spritz out there. not this. this system is the one that's going to come in here. looks like perhaps maybe a midday tomorrow bringing a chance of a quick shower. tornado watches south of

today. >> a charter bus hit by a tractor trailer on the new jersey turnpike. victims taken to hospitals across the area. the crash happened around 12:45 this morning. it wasn't until after 11:30 a.m. that the company told victims another bus was coming to pick them up. >> nobody's doing nothing. >> reporter: when you say nobody, you mean the bus company? >> doing nothing. i called the police. they can't do nothing. nobody's doing nothing for us. we're out here stranded. >> people who weren't hurt were picked up by another bus to continue their trip south. and releasing a preliminary report in ten days about the deadly helicopter crash in delaware. new jersey pilot mike murphy died in that crash. the only one on board when the medical helicopter went down during a training exercise yesterday. murphy flew for penn hospital and was actually our backup pilot in sky 10.

he had more than a decade experience. loved by all those who knew him. >> excellent pilot. knowledgeable. meticulous. >> for murph's family, wife and kids. they have a big support group. >> mike murphy was 37 years old, he has a wife and 2-year-old with another child on the way. breaking news in philadelphia. two officers have been hit by a car. this is along courseville avenue. looking live in sky force 10. loaded into an ambulance now. those officers were responding to a call for shots fired. a very active scene there. right now, again, looking at philadelphia and you can see that intersection shut down. two officers, again, hit by a car. we'll continue to monitor this developing story, this breaking

news story. and bring you the very latest soon as we get it. we're told the officer it's are expected to be okay. >> one of those on the ground, moving forearms up and down. another loaded into an ambulance. serious situation there we will continue to keep apprised, you apprised, of any updates as we get them. meantime, a delaware man accused of murder and arson will not go on trial next week. michael rivers was accused of killing his mother in 2014. then setting fire to the harbor house apartments where she lived. now prosecutors dropped the charges saying surveillance video allegedly supported his alibi and gone and recently learned a 34569er key was sold to a man who robbed self of the apartments. a judge is deciding if the husband of a murdered new jersey radio host must hand over his dna. an atlantic county prosecutor made the request in court today.

dr. james kauffman, they want him to submit a dna sample and are taking a new look at the case after five years. now, april kauffman was found shot to death in her linwood home. her husband denies any involvement in her death. a blood sample from the scene included dna from more than one person. >> that is one reason why the state would like to get the dna sample from mr. kauffman is to either exclude or include him in that blood sample. >> coffman's lawyer tells us his client has fumy cooperated with authorities and it's time to move on. the judge will make a decision on tuesday. lawyers say jared kushner will cooperate with federal investigators. they say if asked, the president's son-in-law will cooperate with fbi investigators over what he knows about ties between russia and the trump campaign. nbc news learned the kushner is under federal scrutiny, however, that doesn't mean he's

suspecting of committing a crime. meanwhile, president trump continued his overseas trip with a meeting at the g7 summit. the group of seven wealthy nations and the european union agreed to do more to fight terrorism. the president reportedly called germany very bad on trade. ruffling feathers. an aed visor said the president does not have a problem with germany. in italy, president trump gave a shout-out to the republican who won yesterday's special house election. praised greg gianforte for his "great win in montana." gianforte won, despite being charged aallegedly slamming a reporter to the ground during an interview on wednesday. he was charged with misdemeanor assault. gianforte apologized during his victory speech. today pennsylvania governor tom wolf signed a new real i.d. bill into law. the state is now up to date on new federal security guidelines for people who want to fly or enter certain federal

facilities. real i.d. drivinger's licenses should be available in march of 2019 without one you'd need another form of i.d. like a passport for domestic flights beginning next year. wilkes-barre police getting lafrs about crack cocaine discovered in a parking lot. $1,600 work of its drug in its lost and found box hoping to reunite it with its rightful owner. to claim it, bring in a picture showing you holding the item along with an i.d. and written statement. back to that breaking news where two officers have been hit by a car along touristdale avenue. a very active scene. as you see right now, they're cleaning up the intersection. we stleress, the officers responding to a call of shots fired and are expected to be okay. this is serie. we saw two being loaded on to stretchers and loaded into those two ambulances still on that

breaking news. we've been covering this since it happened about ten minutes ago. two officers have been hit by a car. this is touristdale avenue, an intersection there. cordoned it off. a lot of road around there are completely closed down. we want to stress, however, that these two officers are expected to be okay. we know that they were responding to a call for shots

fired. and they are on their way currently to a hospital not far from that area, but you can see the video. we'll show it to you now. when we first went to the scene, sky force 10 live overhead from before. look at this. you see that, the severity of what's going on here. two officers being loaded on to a stretcher. one currently in the middle of the intersection. >> the other one already in the ambulance. sky 4 sent the video, zooming in, you can see the officer is moving. he's on a stretcher with a neck brace on. and, again, it's important to stress that even though this scene looks like it does, those officers are going to be okay. you can see that blue car there. told that the officers were hit by a car. you can see the yellow tape around it. so presumably, that may have been the car that hit those two officers who were responding to calls of shots fired in that area. >> those ambulances headed to the hospital.

the whole area shut down. this is where you see the vehicle with front-end damp. we plea zoresume that's is the striking vehicle. those in the white shirts usually run the investigation. they're out there currently. we're in the newsroom making phone calls right now, trying to determine the details leading up to this. people are still close enough to walk that crosswalk to the bottom of your screen there. currently making calls to our assignment desk to mfigure out what happened. two officers hit. expected to be okay. taken to the hospital. to the fresh turmoil facing the trump administration as nbc news first reported, the president's son-in-law and senior adviser jared kushner coming under fbi scrutiny in the russia investigation. we're joined by nbc news political collector and host of "meet the press" chuck todd. chuck, thank you for joining us.

>> happy to join you, keith. >> investigators here believe that kushner has significant information. it's important to note this doesn't mean he's suspected of a crime. but any idea what kind of activity has drawn the fbi's interest? >> well, look. what we know publicly. we know there were meetings he had with some russian officials. russian business associates of russian officials. some of it may have had to do with his business and not the trump administration, but we don't know. investigators don't know what -- what part of these contacts should matter and what shouldn't, and that's the information they're seeking for now and why we've got to be careful here. they're seeking more information from him. it doesn't mean he's a subject, or a target. all of those things. it just means they believe he's got significant information that will help them in the overall investigation into russian interference into the presidential election. and so, look what this does, though, politically, is really

first alert weather center. >> tammy breaking down the all important weekend. begin with tammy. >> begin with clouds out there today. a beautiful sight. actually we had these cumulative clouds coming through the sky quickly. this from bucks county. this is what you saw overhead. some of the clouds thickened, lifted and a few sprinkles. this sums up our day. sun with some of these very fun clouds and an isolated shower. back here, tell you what's going on. wilmington, hosing down the dirt out there getting ready for practice or a game. not sure which. temperatures, 71. winds out of the west to nine miles an hour. cape may, everything went dark. camera's blinking on and off. west wind to 14 miles an hour, why we're in the 70s along the beaches. that won't last. we do have a few showers around the area.

you can see with doppler radar and moving quickly and diminishing making they're way out towards the beaches. all in a northwest flow. the system from yesterday out here across the atlantic, and it's swirling around out there. it's going to be long gone. we're focusing on the one coming out of chicago. severe weather to the south there out of chicago. but what happens is this -- diminishes a bit and heads our way. west with spotty showerers. clear out. start beautiful tomorrow morning, 9:30, west wind but get a chance of, look at this, wi widely scattered showers until 2:00. barbecues, anytime after 4:00, unless in delaware or perhaps south jersey. you may want to hold offing in about 6:00 tomorrow. sunday winds turn off the atlantic. much, much cooler. and we may see an isolated shower. i think that holds offing in it looks like perhaps the evening. so here are your temperatures for the weekend. 73 tomorrow. 73 on sunday and philly, lee

high valley 69 and 71 the jersey shore. 68 and 66. now, glenn, what's going to happen monday? i can't wait. that's my big barbecue day. >> yeah. the wettest of the three. and even that is not going to be any kind of a washout. this is what it looks like. sunday night. this latest system starting to come in. we have onshore winds keeping things on the cool side. there it is. monday morning, we could see the showers. late sunday night, into monday morning. this model keeps it into mid-afternoon. others push it out quickly. and if that happens and we have that summerly wind we could really warm up on monday and actually get above 80 degrees. so the difference between sunday and monday is -- look at the temperature. going up 81 degrees in philadelphia. could see a showerer or thunderstorm during the morning

keeping you updated on breaking news we've followed since the top of the nbc news at 5:00. two police officers rushed to the hospital after being hit by a car. this video from sky force 10. we know their injuries are not life-threatening. they will be okay. video taken about 20 minutes ago of those officers being loaded on stretchers and put in ambulances. right now at aria torresdale hospital. sky force 10 hovering over the scene of the crash. new information. the driver of that blue car that you see right there that hit the cruiser is not in custody. again, the driver of that car, that hit those two officers, not in custody. the hood is crumpled up. you can see, looks like it t-boned the officers' suv. philadelphia police telling us the two after was responding to a call for a shooting. right now parts of torresdale avenue are closed. nbc 10 is headed to the scene

hurt in a crash when hit by a van. responding to an emergency, and it happened right before three this afternoon in northeast philadelphia. police say the officer had his lights and siren on when he was hit. that officer is stable at the hospital fwop men in the other car hurt. no word on their condition. a south jersey couple accused of human trafficking. christopher white and adrian reign both charged saying the couple force add 1-year-o17-yea sex with men at a hotel for money. the investigation started while the teen ran away and told police. she met them under the impression she would be baby-sitting kids. a dream deal's dash. losing hundreds what they thought was a great deal. harry hairston has what you need to know to protect your money in case that good deal goes bad.

the west winds keeping it warmer along the beaches. again, moisture on the back side of yesterday's system, and that's what's being lifted creating brief, brief sprinkles and showers. this is a different system. a tornado watch box south of chicago and there is a system driving this batch of rain, and that's going to make it in our direction for tomorrow. and then we have yet another one that comes in sunday night, and monday. that one's bringing snow to wyoming. we're not getting snow. just seems so wrong. hour by hour we'll watch the west winds and dottie showers that die off tonight. a pleasant night. here we are tomorrow morning. that system passing chicago could bring us some scattered showers starting as early as maybe 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning. widely scatters. not seeing a washout. notice at 2:30, by the time we get to 4:00 or so most of the area is dry. maybe southern delaware and south jersey still looking at brief showers until 6:00 or 7:00 tomorrow night. now, we get into sunday we see the winds turn to the east.

more breaking news to get to from sky force 10 in northeast philadelphia. firefighters arriving on that scene. a mobile home that is on fire. it's behind a warehouse. cottman avenue and melrose. like we said, northeast philadelphia. these flames are raging here as we see three firefighters to the left battling those flames with a single hose. now, about two minutes ago when we first learned of this, when sky force 10 just gotover head, firefighters hadn't gotten there yet. just the early stages of the fire fighting effort. we'll keep an eye on this. northeast philadelphia. today on nbc 10 responds, a warning about companies that suddenly shut down. >> several viewers asked for help when a local furniture store went out of business. so we sent nbc 10 responds reporter harry hairston for answers. >> reporter: you can't miss the sign for discount city furniture

that breaking news, a driver plows into a cruiser carrying two philadelphia police officers. the officers were trying to get to a shooting scene when they were hit by a car.

you can see them right there on their stretchers. good evening. i'm jacqueline london. police now tell us the driver who hit the officers stayed on the scene and did not leave it. live to nbc 10 live on the scene of the crash in philadelphia. andrea what are you learning? >> reporter: show what you it looks like on the ground. take a look that blue carolla is the car that struck the police damage. you see the damage. a tow truck moved the police suv a few feet forward. if you look closely you see the air bags deployed in the police car. accident investigators arrived on the scene at this moment. it's unclear who was at fault. police confirmed the two officers were responding to reports of a shooting when they were hit by that carolla. sky force 10 was there as the officers were put on stretchers. one officer complained about having pain on his left side. both officers were taken to aria torresdale hospital and expected to be okay. the driver of the
