home. end of an era, an iconic center city restaurant closed up shop but it might not be the final chapter in the story of little petes. horses taking part in a memorial day parade storm off into a nearby crowd. right to breaking news now. a teenager dead and another in critical condition after they were shot. this video just into the newsroom. a 14-year-old was shot several times in the neck and back. he was pronounced dead at the hospital. a 16-year-old was also shot. he is in critical condition. it happened in philadelphia's kensington neighborhood. right now police are on the scene number one has been arrested. that gun has not been recovered. >> can't go around making these mistakes, man. somebody got to be held

accountable. >> calls for justice from a local family who says a s.w.a.t. unit barged into their home but it was the wrong house. and that family was embarrassed after s.w.a.t. raided their home and the moments sent their 66-year-old grandmother to the hospital. they share their story with brandon hudson. >> open the door. all of this is broken. >> reporter: sonya shows us where she says s.w.a.t. officers mistakenly broke down her door at 7:45 last wednesday morning. she was at her home with her friend. >> the police come in with the gun and pushed me and her on the floor. i said what happened? he said no talking the police will explain later. >> reporter: she told us that the s.w.a.t. used a flash bomb in the kitchen.

but then realized it was the wrong home. >> two police coming by again he say i'm sorry. that's my mistake. that's wrong house. >> reporter: you can see the door is wobbly. the city crews fixed part of the frame but the family has to use a 4x4 to lock it at night. the family showed us how they use it to keep the door closed. they also shared photos with nbc 10 of the damage left behind in the home. >> do you get nervous being in the kitchen since last week? >> yes. >> reporter: her sons say they drove their mother to the hospital and learned she had high blood pressure because of the tense situation. now they are exploring action for legal action. >> we make mistakes we pay the price for the mistakes. you can't do nothing like that

up, thousands spent the last four days honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. it put the final touch on this memorial day weekend. parades pressed the savement like here in pottstown. huge crowds gathered. the old and the young in lower marion. rain didn't stop anyone from honoring our fallen heroes. the penn crest band marched in media, delaware county. >> my father was a marine. my son-in-law is a marine. and my stepson was in the army. so this means something to me. >> reporter: over at landstown, boy scotts gave out flags and others carried them in the

parade. >> reporter: we caught a surprise proposal. she said yes. hundreds of delawareans gathered as the rain held off. just as it did down in ocean city. the boards were packed with jackets, long pants. no one was complaining though. >> we had nice weather on saturday and sunday, nicer than i expected. i was expecting rain and i'm completely burnt. >> reporter: the jersey shore was too much for some. >> we had a great time. >> and of course the real reason for the holiday, a day of remembrance and honor for those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. nbc 10 at the tomb of the unknown revolutionary war soldier, one of the many ceremonies honoring those who

lost their lives for our freedom. memorial day was born out of the desire to honor those who died in the civil war and expanded to include those who died in any war, for veterans like pat clancy today is more than a day off. >> people will never know if you haven't been through it. unless you have family or friends, personal, that's been through it, you tend to forget them. >> reporter: more than 1.1 million americans have died in american wars. president donald trump honored u.s. military heroes at arlington national cemetery. he paid tribute to fallen soldiers and the families they left behind. once the president laid a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier he gave a speech calling on all americans to continue to honor the sacrifice of fallen

soldiers. >> we pay tribute to those brave souls who roars into battle and ran into hell to face down evil. >> mr. trump recognized the son of homeland security secretary kelly who was killed in 2010 while serving in afghanistan. we are hearing from tiger woods after his early morning dui arrest. he released a statement saying i take full responsibility for my actions. i want the public to know that alcohol was not involved in what happened. what happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. i didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly. here's the booking photo taken of the 41-year-old after he was taken into custody. tiger was released just before 11:00 this morning. the arrest follows his fourth back surgery that has sidelined

him from golf. and back in november 2009 he was cited for careless driving after crashing in his driveway in orlando. it sparked rumors that he and his wife were involved in a domestic dispute that led to the crash. a center city landmark served it final meal tonight. little petes closed its doors for goods a couple hours ago. denise nakano spoke with customers who are thanking the diner for more than just great food but a lifetime of memories. >> reporter: memorial day 2017 marks the end of little petes. >> an institution. >> reporter: for many customers this is where it all began. >> it's life changing. >> reporter: eileen met chris by chance after grabbing late night eats at the diner.

police have arrested a 31-year-old man for the death of a 6-week-old baby. the baby was taken to the hospital with a nosebleed and later died. the cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries.

a suspected drug dealer busted for handing out free samples of heroin in kensington. investigators said he didn't know who of the men he handed free baggies too were undercovered septa cops. he had 22 bags of heroin on him when he was taken into custody this morning. in germantown, a 27-year-old is recovering after he was shot multiple times. police say it started during an argument on green street. the victim drove himself to the hospital and is in stable condition. towering clouds of black smoke rising from a fire in north carolina. this is a janitorial supply company. everyone escaped unharmed. no word on what started this fire. and you have to watch this video. a memorial day parade goes downhill after these ponies, two

of them took off running. police in wisconsin say fireworks may have startled the two ponies as they were pulling a flag-draped wagon. three people were hurt. a group of good samaritans have been credited with saving a police officer's life. this video shows people trying to push the patrol car back on its tires. a pickup hit the car and sent it into a creek 30 feet below. the officer is expected to be okay. now to the latest from manchester, england. 14 men are in custody in relation to last week's bombing. investigators have collected more than 600 pieces of evidence as they try to close in on the network behind the bomber. the memorial continues to grow as people bring more flowers and gifts over the holiday weekend. 22 people died and more than 60

baseball team, a college baseball team making a push for a national title. the university of delaware got the word they are heading for texas for round one of the ncaa baseball tournament. delaware has not qualified since 2001. they won their conference over the weekend. the confidence is riding high right about now. >> this wasn't expected out of us. so to be here means a lot and i'm very confident. i know if we play like we've been playing we can beat any team in the country. >> let's hope so. after the party the team went right back to work. they leave for texas on wednesday. their first game is friday afternoon against texas tech. let's go blue hens. can't say the same for the phillies. and one player sums it up with two words. and a base brawl for the ages. it is all next.
