phone calls and time lines, today bill cosby's defense attorneys used these two e key elements to question andrea constand's credibility. i'm jim rosenfield. >> and i'm jacqueline london. today andrea constand completed her testimony. deanna durante has been in the courtroom from the very beginning of this trial and join us live. >> constand's mother was on the stand. >> reporter: she took up the later part of the afternoon. this is bill cosby leaving the courthouse moments ago. we were told ly bihis representative she would be speaking in support of her long-time friend. andrea constand was back on the stand again today. she was not thrilled by defense. they were picking apart her

testimony. then police sent detectives since the first report in 2005. they were picking apart cell phone calls, how many times she called, how many times he called her since the alleged assault. and prosecutors were quick to point out to the jury when they had that chance for redirect questioning of constand to show she was using her temple university cell phone and those calls were all business related because he was a trustee of the university and she an employee. however, the star witness of the day, andrea constand's mother came in. her long hair wearing a long skirt. making a few jokes about how she couldn't remember a few things. but it was when she was asked about some phone calls she had with bill cosby she became emotional on the stand. talking how much she loved her

daughter and how cosby betrayed her daughter's trust. she said in a phone call she was able to get bill cosby to confess to drugging and sexually assaulting her daughter. she wished she had recorded that call and spent more than $170 on recording devices from radioshack and was ready for when e he called back again days later. she says that then she asked him and that call was played for the jury where she asked him what he gave her daughter. he said, we are not going to talk about that. he did offer to pay for ann ddrs continuing education. the case has wrapped up for the day, but we'll be back here tomorrow. bill cosby has left the building as have all the witnesses. the prosecutors are not talking about who will be up next, but they are having a a dispout over some of the evidence that will happen early tomorrow morning. that's the latest, deanna durante, nbc 10 news. >> thank you for that report.

in delaware county a drug bust at a chipotle after a month-long investigation that led police to the restaurant. police arrested a 24-year-old worker and two others after an undercover narcotics officer bought nearly a pound of marijuana from the employee. the lunchtime drug bust forced 20 customers to evacuate. >> it was really insane. we just came here to eat chipotle. we were so confused. >> canines found drug residue in the men's bathroom and police imed a car as part of the investigation. federal and local official says they have broken up a major drug ring that ran through delaware. authorities say this house was home to a massive marijuana lab. . the operation was being run by. fighting back in wins, a

wawa customer decided to take matter sbos his own hands when a stranger pulled out a gun and tried to rob the store. rosemary connors spoke with the man who stopped that robber right in his tracks. >> i just took it upon myself to try to save somebody. >> reporter: his about of heroism could have cost him his life. still the customer wasted no time tackling the suspect identified by police as alexander ray. the struggle ensued through the store, around the counter and eventually out the front doors. >> i had to do it all over again. >> while daryl who does not want to show his face on camera doesn't hesitate to defend himself and the wawa employees. e he doesn't recommend anyone else doing it. the battle left him with bruises to his hands and four stitches above his eye. >> i wouldn't advise anyone to take on a gun.

senate panel tomorrow. comey's prepared statement was released this afternoon. a portion of it focuses on a conversation he had with president trump during a a meeting in january. it reads in part, the president said i need loyalty. i expect loyalty. i didn't move, speak or change my facial expression in any way. we simply looked at each other in silence. and this comes as president trump prepares to officially name christopher ray as new jersey attorney and former justice department employee as his nominee to become the next fbi director. lauren mayk traveled to washington, d.c. ahead of comey's hearing. she joins us now live. you spoke with lawmakers today. what could they tell you about ray? >> reporter: two democrats that i spoke with said they have questions about his ties to chris christie. meanwhile, a republican who has worked with him called him even keeled and a good choice.

meanwhile, capitol hill is gearing up to hear from james comey about his final months as fbi director. jim comey is expected to detail his conversations with president-elect trump and president trump. nine one ob one conversations and it's not just the content under scrutiny. one senator today raising questions about the sheer number of them because there are so many more than he had with president obama when he was in office. both democrats and republicans i spoke today, though, anxious to hear directly from jim comey. >> we want the to get at the truth. every day it's something more. every day it's a little spin on this. every day it's a little different detail. i just want to get at the truth. >> i'm glad he's coming to testify. he's a good man. he will tell them exactly what happened. >> reporter: and that last member of congress you just heard from was republican brian

fitzpatrick. he is also a former fbi agent. he worked under jim comey. he called him a true leader and he always had agents' backs. this hearing starts tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. one building over from where we are right now. i will be inside that hearing looking for both jim comey's testimony and reaction from lawmakers afterwards. >> i know it starts at 10:00 a.m. how long is it expected to last? >> reporter: you know, about an hour and a half to two hours. however, i will say that last time we were here for the testimony of jim comey in the house, he was speaking in front of the house committee. it went way long er than anticipated. so all of the senators will get to ask questions and that may go a little longer. we'll be watching. >> lauren mayk, i'll be joining you tomorrow in washington as well. thank you. back here at home, all lanes on the delaware memorial bridge

we have a peek of blau. we'll be in the 70s tomorrow. lehigh and north hampton counties. 67 in hopewell. 65 in reading. 66 in sin is king spring. and 6 in white hall and easton, we don't see any place that's hit 70 degrees in our area today. and look what's going to happen here. we have 67 for the official high. 75 tomorrow. then it just keeps going up. every single day. you're going to be complaining about the heat. here's the dry air coming in right along the coast. we're starting to see more breaks in the clouds. as the sun goes down, the clouds are going to break up. clearing skies tonight.

that's going to allow the temperature to go down into the 40s in some parts of the area. look at allentown. and then with some sunshine, we get into the 70s but not at the shore. we're going to have a coastal storm offshore, but the clouds are going to hang around and keep places like atlantic city cool and cloudy. but not over the weekend. i don't see any storms for the weekend. a lot of sunshine at the jersey shore. it's going to be 92 degrees by sunday. that's getting up there. and we are not used to that. we're going to see big changes between the cities and the shore over the next several days. look at friday. 82 degrees in philly while 72 degrees at the jersey shore. over the weekend, look at all this sunshine. how long has it been since we had four straight sunny days at the shore?

i don't see any cold days. i don't see any days with the easterly flow or strong winds. we really have some nice weather coming up at the shore for the next several days. tomorrow is not going to be great. but then it gets better and better. here are the temperatures going up and up and up. we have the three days at least of 90 degrees. a lot of sunshine here. and then as we head toward wednesday and thursday of next week. we have the possibility of some cooler air coming down from new england. and that sometimes is how you break heat waves. especially in june from the knot northeast. and then it does look like we get into a wetter pattern later next week. i'm john clark. we're going to hear from carson wentz's teammates. the phillies going for five straight wins tonight. who did the manager challenge and why it's working? that's next.

here. chilly out there overnight. overcast in our area. but it sure looks nice around the shore. >> that's a sign of things to come. these clouds are thinning out a little bit behind us. that trend is going to continue. we're going to clear out tonight. then tomorrow we'll be ab improvement. it's not going on to gorgeous or even up to the normal of 80. it goes up every day. we have more sunshine every day. the only real chance of any kind of rain in the next five days would be friday after afternoon with a brief shower. it looks like the weekend is great. nice sea breezes at the beaches. giving a nice comfort there. don't have any ciggen cant rain for another week. >> it's a really good stretch. >> but there will be people complaining about the heat. by tuesday, the humidity is going to be probably ret high and feeling like close to 100. >> that's quite a change.
