the jury deliberated four hours before going home or to their hotel last night. today jurors revisited evidence surrounding cosby's deposition. and they also questioned the wording around the third kaunt they are considering. we heard from a spokesman today outside the courthouse. he claims cosby did not get a fair trial because a key witness was blocked from testifying. and in the statement, he allegations that andrea constand told her she intend ed to set u cosby. she says andrea constand told her about plans to falsely accuse a a high profile beperso of sexual assault so she could sue and get money. here's a portion of that statement. >> i wasn't shocked that it was exactly what andrea constand

that night after 1:00 in the evening. to this officer and responding officers from the police department. they took a simple police report her what happened, what did she remember. and the jury didn't want to see that report. they wanted to read back to them to hear the prosecution ask their questions and the defense come in and ask about that night ask why she waited so long to make that report. >> who is in the courtroom? >> the legal team is on both sides. the jury and a lot of press. and the jury because people are moving in the gally, we can get a better shot looking at the jury. also there have there was a little confusion.

a couple men in the back of the jury box there went like this and said report on testimony. and then the foreperson stood up and said we want to hear the testimony. so it was read back to them entirely. >> she's sitting on the prosecution side closer to the jury box front row. he looks down at the table and will lean back and the two have not a. >> you mentioned the third count. they wanted wording of aggravated indecent assault and wanted to know without her consent what that meant. at one point, one juror was

shaking his head and they went back to deliberation. >> i know you'll go back in as soon as we get word of any other questions. >> we appreciate you being there. >> we want to brick in a court judge. >> when you hear about the latest question. going back to the original police report. >> they heard other statements at other times. now they are going back to one of the very first statements that she made and i think what they are doing is comparing all the statements to see if they are consistent.

>> tonight we have more e details in the murder investigation of a 1-year-old boy. >> he was arrested last week after police found the boy unresponsive inside a home. he identified himself as the boy oes stepfather also facing sexual assault charges. this was the scene in center city today after the driver of a mini van jumped a curb and hit several people before plowing into a newsstand. it happened at the international of 16th street and jfk bfld around noon. two people had taken to the hospital. both in stable condition this afternoon. the lunchtime crowd was there to the crash including one woman who said she could have easily been o that corner. >> scary, yeah. e we usually walk through here. they took a little long for lunch. weren't out here at the time when it happened. >> it's not clear what caused the driver to jump the curb.

today? >> reporter: you know, these are former colleagues of jeff sessions. he was a senator before he became attorney general. so he knows them and things got a little heated today. this is where the senators come out and as you can see folks are gathering around to the hearing just ended. that's where we are now. this afternoon jeff sessions came here as part of the russia investigation. it was also very clear heavy want. ed to defend himself and his reputation. he said he did not have any conversations with russians or any foreign officials about interfere i interferings like that with anyone from the trump campaign. immediately because of the department of justice rules.

the jury is deliberating right now at the montgomery county courthouse. the country is watching and waiting for an answer. >> nbc 10 is standing by live waiting for the moment the courtroom let's out. you're looking at it live right now. once the jury reveals their decision, the doors will open. we're outside the courthouse as well. this is where prosecutors or cosby's defense team would make a statement. >> they are voicing their opinion. the jury could send americans to jail for the rest of your life.

>> she talked with them about what they will happen. breaking news center is breaking down what the jury's questions today mean for the trial. >> as you know, this is the second day of jury deliberations. they have to decide whether cosby drugged and sexually assaulted andrea constand dating back to 2004. the jury came back with a third question this. they wanted to hear testimony from the officer who responded to andrea constand's home in canada in 2005 and took her initial report. the jury want. ed to know the phrase without her knowledge meant in one of the three counts they have to decide on.

and then outside the courtroom, away from the jury, cosby spokesman read the statement of a potential witness. koz wi's defense team wanted her to testify, but the judge ruled her statement was hearsay and he did not allow her testimony. that statement was from a woman who is a temple university academic adviser in the statement she alleges andrea constand told her she intended to set up cosby. she claims it happened in a hotel room during a conversation they had. a conversation she shared with andrea constand this rhode island during a temple women's basketball trip. >> i did ask what she was saying really happened. her response was that it had not happened but she could say it happened and file charges.

>> i'm joined by e retired superior judge. thank you for being here. we know now the jury has asked three questions today. one to hear more about cosby's own words about giving andrea constand pills. another trying to get clarification about one of the charges. the third, testimony from the police officer who first took alasndrea constand's assault ret in canada. what you lock at those three questions, do they give you any clues about what's happening? >> they are all appropriate questions. the testimony that came in in this case and the conflict in the testimony and the cross-examination, these are all appropriate questions. now i spoke with deanna durante on the phone to get a sense of what she's seeing from the jury. is she seeing frustration, despair, she told me no. she said there's a couple jurors that don't quite seem satisfied with all of the readbacks and the answers that they are getting, which means that they might have more questions and

means they are not quite with the other people yet. that's understandable. that happens. so i do expect there might be another question or two and might take a little while longer, but she assures me she doesn't see frustration on the faces of the jurors. that's a good sign. >> at this point, we know we have not heard an inkling of we're dead locked and can't reach a decision. >> that's a good sign because they are talking. they are debating. they are going over the testimony. they are going over the conflict. they are answering people's questions. that's all good. so e we need to relax a little bit longer. there may be another question or two. this jury seems to be a hard working jury. it wants to do the right thing.

only nbc 10 was there as an atlantic county doctor and husband of a murder vick was taken into custody outside his medical practice. dr. kaufman, the husband of april kaufman, was arrested today on gun charges after a brief standoff with investigators. >> they were serving a search warrant when he pulled out a gun. radio host april kaufman was

shot in 2012. last month a judge decided whether her husband had to give a dna sample in the unsolved case. that decision was sealed. authorities say today's search is not connected to the killing. only ted greenberg was there today when dr. kaufman was taken into custody. he has what happened next. >> dr. james kaufman seen here in exclusive nbc 10 video surrounded by authorities, taken into custody after prosecutors say he displayed a .9 millimeter handgun when investigators showed up to search his egg harbor township medical office this morning. patients arriving for appointments stunned to learn the doctor had been arrested. >> i'm more than a little speechless that to hear that the physician had a weapon in his office. >> a hostage negotiator convincing kaufman to vending following a 45-minute standoff.
