those box cars were carrying butter. the problem is the fuel powered to keep those cars cool is now leaking and it is believed some of that fuel is leaking into that basin, which ultimately dumps into the creek. we've been told by emergency officials here in bucks county that hazmat teams are working on containing that fuel, soaking it up. where we are standing right now on the ground is at ninth street and franklin. fire police out here working very hard trying to control traffic. some people who live on the 200 block of ninth street are able to get to their homes. no widespread evacuations in the area. you are looking at the scene right now from sky force 10. all of this happening around 2:30 this afternoon. that scene a mile long. five to six box cars derailed here. we're told that three are affected and could be leaking fuel. and that the police, the fire, police, hazmat teams all working to clean up this area. right now if you're trying to get to this area, it is going to

be shut down for several hours. that is the very latest in sellersville. deanna durante. following more breaking news this time out of belgium where there has been an explosion and shooting at the train station in brussels. authorities say the explosion was small and that police shot the man responsible. a nearby square in the heart of the city has been evacuated, but police say the situation there in brussels right now is under control. 20 minutes of nonstop news continues with the story you'll see only on nbc 10. the family of a hit and run victim is pleading for anyone with information to come forward after their loved one was hit by not one, but two cars near her south jersey home. >> please, please. go to the police and say something. no one wants anything to happen. >> nbc 10 showed you this surveillance video last night. investigators believe it shows one of the suspects getting away

just moments after the crash. that crash happened sunday night when the woman was crossing route 130 in burlington township. investigators believe the second car dragged the victim about a block and a half. only nbc 10 south jersey spoke with the victim's family. >> joins us live near the scene of that crash. cydney? >> the 53-year-old victim is kim henry. lives just down the street with her boyfriend who tells us that kim is legally blind, but she can see. what happened here on sunday night no one ever saw coming. when one car struck her in the roadway and then another dragged her about a block down route 130. >> kim, i love you so much. i miss you and i need you to come back. >> reporter: speaking to nbc 10, despite his tears, todd smith says his heart is beyond broken. >> broken ain't the word. that's my other half. that's my baby, my buddy, my

friend. not just my girlfriend. all the above. >> reporter: he is broken by the fact that two drivers took out without a care. one knocked kim off her feet and the second dragged her and just kept going. he heard police and an ambulance arrive. >> i've seen her feet and i couldn't look and watch any more. >> reporter: detectives spent a second day canvassing businesses for surveillance video after they saw this. watch as this small sedan pulls into a car lot and shuts off its lights within moments of when henry was struck. >> the driver exits the vehicle at the same time as the passenger. they switch positions and now the passenger is in the driver's seat. >> suspicious? >> absolutely. >> dragged maybe a block and a half. >> reporter: police believe the first car that hit kim is a 1997 mazda protege. smith plans to spend weeks at

cooper medical center. >> she had no brain damage, but she's been sedated. so not able to talk to her. if anybody knows anything, please, please go to the police and say something. >> now, police just told us the car in the video is, in fact, a silver 1997 mazda protege. smith is hoping if anyone out there knows the drivers involved, then they will take a moment to think of his girlfriend's pain and call police. from burlington township, i'm cydney long. 20 minutes of nonstop news continues with opening statements in the corruption trial of philadelphia's district attorney seth williams defense team admitted that the d.a. made bad mistakes and exercised poor judgment, but they claim he didn't commit a crime. lauren was in court for day one. >> reporter: the federal prosecutor told jurors today that seth williams was constantly on the take.

seth williams did take things but doing so was not a crime. philadelphia's district attorney entering federal court today for day one of his trial. it's a case the government prosecutor today told jurors is about fraud, corruption and concealment. in his opening statement, the prosecutor portraying williams as a man living beyond his means who knew better but took rides in exchange for selling the power and influence of his office. at one point, showing jurors a photo of williams in punta conta on a trip with a man who wanted his help to limit airport screenings when he came back into the country. they'll hear from the police inspector who williams approached for help doing that. williams' defense attorney called it a search for a crime. he told the jury the district attorney made bad mistakes and exercised poor judgment, but said none of the things he did were crimes. he said the two businessman the government paints as being part

of bribes are williams' friends and that they "text each other like a couple of school girls." williams, he says, did take the trip and that the government won't be able to prove a this or that relationship. seth williams did have some supporters in the courtroom with him today, but not as many as he would have wanted. his attorney asked the judge to allow character witnesses to stay in the room so that it wouldn't look to jurors like he had no support. but the judge ruled that all witnesses must be sequestered. in old city, i'm lauren mayk, nbc 10 news. check out this new video of what we now know was a tornado in delaware. strong winds tossed around debris outside the delaware in suffix county. it was recorded around 6:30 last night. no one was hurt in the last hour the national weather service confirmed it was an ef-0 tornado

the humidity way down from what it's been the last several days in a row. you can tell the difference when you're outside and i can tell a differen difference my hair. that thicker cloud base is off shore now and no rain in sight for us today. as we move forward, we're looking at a mostly dry forecast. let's talk overnight and into tomorrow. 80 overnight. and in the low 70s for potstown. very comfortable to be maybe out on the deck this evening or tomorrow morning. mid-70s to start the day. we'll talk about the highs going into tomorrow afternoon for the first official day of summer, coming up. right now, a judge is deciding whether to release the names of the jurors involved in the bill cosby sex assault case. nbc news' one of the many media outlets pushing for that information but not everyone wants it out there. keith jones is live in the breaking newscenter. keith, why is this so important? >> jacqueline, prosecutors think

releasing the jurors' information, including their names, could impact cosby's retrial. now, we already know the prosecutors are planning to try cosby, again. not that they believe releasing the information on those 12 men and women would jeopardize the impartiality of the new trial and the next set of jurors in the case. it was just three days ago when the jury couldn't reach a decision on any of the three counts against cosby. now, the question surrounding how and why they were "hopelessly deadlocked or critical." cosby accuser constand said thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness and support. i'm eternally grateful for the messages i have received in recent days. still no timetable for retrial. it could happen in just weeks. in the meantime, cosby remains free on bail. live in the breaking newscenter, keith jones, nbc 10 news. to this now, the coroner in cincinnati today announced it will investigate the death of a college student who had just been released by north korea. 22-year-old otto warmbier died

less than a week after arriving in ohio. he was held captive by north korea for nearly a year and a half president trump called what happened today to warmbier a total disgrace. >> that should never, ever be allowed to happen and, frankly, if he were brought home sooner, i think the result would have been a lot different. >> doctors here in the u.s. say warmbier suffered severe brain damage while he was in custody. we have several new details on that deadly attack outside a mosque in london. british authorities identified the man under arrest in the attack. darren osborn is accused of driving a speeding van into a crowd of worshippers after ramadan services monday. one man died at the scene. officials announced today seven people are still in the hospital. three of them are in critical condition. crowds are leaving tributes at the attack site to show their solidarity for those affected. investigators have called it a clear and blatant assault on muslims. they are treating it as a terror

attack. and london's fire department has posted photos of singer adele meeting with them to show support. adele had a cup of tea with the firefighters and thanked them for the effort. back here at home, sky force 10 over this breaking news in bucks county right now. the bomb squad called to a home here for possible explosives in the 8700 block. you see those crews outside the home there. police are telling us they found hazardous chemicals inside the home. you see the fire trucks on the roadway and the driveway, as well. we'll continue to monitor the situation here where the bomb squad has been called. meantime, new help on the way for people in philadelphia who have trouble paying their water bills. the city today unveiled a program called tiered assistance program or t.a.p. offers customers a fixed amount monthly bill based on their

income. people can apply to the city starting july 1st. a celebration in south philadelphia today. this was the groundbreaking on a new affordable housing complex for seniors. nbc 10 and south 28 at pier streets. once it's finished, the third face of anthony wane senior housing and consist of 45 homes. there is a lot riding on an election under way in georgia right now. voters in an atlanta suburb must choose a new congressman to replace tom price to become the health and human services secretary. the district has voted for republicans for decades. but donald trump only beat hillary clinton there by a very narrow margin. both parties have placed great importance on the district as they both set their sights on next year's midterm election. the president made his choice clear in his latest tweet. republican karen handel for congress. she will fight for lower taxes, great health care, strong security, a hard worker who will never give up. police in seattle are

investigating the death of a pregnant woman who was shot by officers after she called 911 for help. the officers went to her apartment sunday morning because she had said the place had been burglarized. investigators say at some point she suddenly came at the officers with a knife. both officers opened fire killing her. the woman's three young children were there but they were not hurt. new details on the changes being made in delaware's prison system after a deadly standoff. starting salaries are being boosted by about $3,000 for the state's correctional officers. cut mandatory overtime for employees. a new labor committee will look at physical fitness testing and a career ladder. all comes after lieutenant stephen floyd right there lost his life when prisoners took control of the prison and held officers hostage. two companies in bucks county will be a part of the growing process for pennsylvania's medical marijuana. grow and process the drug in the

state. that's out of about 400 applications. randy gyllenhaal spoke to the people who applied for the permit. the medical marijuana developments here at home come amidst reports attorney general jeff sessions is working to create a law that would make medical marijuana legal. today governor tom wolf sent sessions a letter asking him talet states make the decision when it comes to medical marijuana laws, as they do right now. the u.s. is welcoming dozens of new citizens this afternoon. nbc 10 here at the naturalization ceremony at the museum of jewish history. 35 people were sworn in and became citizens. this group came from 19 countries. lawmakers are trying, again, to do away with school property taxes in pennsylvania. today they reintroduced a bill that would eliminate the tax and replace the money with an increase in the income and sales taxes.

the same bill didn't make it through the general assembly last session. we are continuing to follow this breaking news in bucks county. crews on the scene of a freight train derailment. several cars, as you can see, have toppled on a bridge along tracks near east walnut street in sellersville. no one is hurt. several of the cars, though, we can tell you are leaking fuel into water that runs into the creek. so, hazmat crews are on that scene and nbc 10 deanna durante is there talking ato emergency crews on the ground on what it will take to stop that leak. a live report coming up at 5:00. and south philadelphia it was all about sun and sandwiches. these people spent part of their froop at pat's steaks. from the looks of it, everyone was enjoyed their cheesesteaks. it was really comfortable outside because there wasn't a lot of humidity. it was calm. the sun was out. a big difference from the past couple days. >> i almost took a detour right over to the schuylkill and the

trail there and almost didn't make it over to work. >> we wouldn't allow that. >> krystal is here to tell us how much longer this nice stretch is going to last. >> it was so nice on the drive in. beautiful conditions out there. this is a shot outside our studios right now. got some of those look like popcorn overhead clouds. and really we've got nice conditions for the rest of today, tonight, and even tomorrow. which is the first oofficial day of summer. 12:24 a.m. when we will see the summer solstice. let's talk about our conditions outside. radar and satellite view. not a lot to track. no rain for us to look at. scattered clouds you can lightly see here around the region. thicker cloud cover and clipping cape may county. that is the back side of the cold front that really affected us yesterday. no longer going to be a worry for us. we pull this out wider and a very nice path of clear conditions that will continue into tomorrow. but as we get into tomorrow afternoon, we have to watch this right here.

this area of rain that is tracking our direction. most of it is going to fall apart by the time it makes it to us. we'll see sprinkles in areas. let's talk temperatures right now. 86 degrees in philadelphia. 83 in delaware and the lehigh valley and 85 in south jersey. if you're at the shore, you're also at 85 degrees. that's inland right at the surface of the water. probably some cooler temperatures there. in philadelphia neighborhoods, it's pretty consistent we see these mid-upper 80s except for spots up to graduate hospital. up to 91 right now. for the most part areas are slightly cooler than yesterday. as a result of the cold front. really the temperatures didn't take the plunge. it was that humidity that dropped off. doesn't feel like 95 outside. instead, we really do feel like 86 at the airport. here in the forecast highs for tomorrow. right around the, again, mid upper 80s for our highs. 87 in fairmont. and like today a mix of clouds and sun for the afternoon. will it be at 85 and allentown at 83 and here's what i was

talking about. a spot shower pass by. this is not going to ruin any plans you have on waenednesday,t you may see some sprinkles briefly. 80 right near the jersey shore and in delaware, 86 for new york and we're looking at 88 in dover. not bad at all for our first day of summer. let's take a look a little more closely what i was talking about with that moisture. line of showers that we are currently tracking well to our northwest. but we put this into motion and you see it kind of starts rolling our direction. so i zoomed into our area by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow. your morning commute is fine. sunshine like you did today. as we go through the day, a mix of those clouds and sun and there's those little spots of green i was mentioning. nothing heavy really looking to make its way through our forecast tomorrow. aside from delaware as we see on this particular computer model. an isolated heavy shower or isolated thunderstorm. but it looks like most of us will stay on the dry side for tomorrow. and the good news is, even with that moisture passing by, look as we go am to our wednesday.

tornado that touched down in sussex county, delaware, yesterday. >> they tracked the storms all day and less than 24 hours later, that cleanup continues. erin joins us live in the studio. >> out surveying the area. here's the good news. nobody was hurt. even an ef-0 tornado, the smallest on the scale, can still do some damage. this surveillance video captures the power of mother nature. watch as the 75 to 85 mile per hour winds move in. ripping the door off a building at the delaware electric co-op. >> inside the building when the storm hit. which is a good thing. >> reporter: two hours earlier, it would have been filled with employees. >> severely damaged the building you see behind me here. no one was injured. >> reporter: as the cleanup continues this afternoon, you can still see trees snapped in two. >> this is the first stop on our damage survey today. we're making a couple more

stops. >> reporter: a team from the national weather service confirmed late today what many people here suspected all along. the storm that blew through the region spawned a tornado here. an ef-0. 150 miles away in pennsylvania evidence of what is likely another tornado. the national weather service telling us early assessments show a brief tornado touched down here, as well. now, employees at the delaware electric co-op said when that tornado warning was issued they didn't have much time to react. at that point the tornado was right over them. really good news that so many of them had just left for the day a couple hours earlier. >> you have to move fast sometimes when those warnings come out. >> we just got coniffirmation o the one in charlesville. >> just got the confirmation and they believe that is an ef-0, as well. winds with the sussex county tornado between 75 and 80 miles per hour. 80 mile per hour for the one in

burkes county. it was straight line winds, which could be just as damaging as the towarnado. that area saw a lot of damage whether or not it was in the path of the tornado. >> things calm down now. >> this is a view of all the damage that hit us just yesterday. all these little boxes you see, that's all damage reports all over the place. there's the tornado in sussex county and it was in burkes county where that second one did touch down. very active yesterday. you see the radar was explosive. now a little bit better like jim just said. k quiet conditions for us. a thicker cloud deck and those areas, that's actually the back side of that cold front that affected us. we no longer have to worry about rain or the high humidity that we were dealing with yesterday. it feels better inside our building even because of the lower humidity across the entire region. temperatures right now are still on the warm side, though. we're at 86 degrees in

o.j. simpson could find out next month if he will be released from prison. authorities in las vegas just scheduled a parole hearing for simpson on july 20th. at that hearing simpson could be approved for release as early as october. simpson has spent nearly ten years in prison for robbing several men at a las vegas casino. growing number of people are taking high doses of vitamin d. that's according to researchers who say most adults need about 600 international units per day. the new study says 3% of adults were taking supplements up to 4,000. your body needs vitamin d to absorb calcium and too much could lead to a build up of calcium in the blood and affect the blood in the heart. move over, barbie, ken has undergone a long overdo makeover. 15 new ken dolls. ken will now come in three body

right now golf legend tiger woods says he's getting help after he was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence. tiger tweeted out this statement saying in part, i'm currently receiving professional help to manage my medications and the ways i deal with back pain and a sleep disorder. i want to thank everyone for the amazing outpouring of support and understanding. last month, tiger was arrested for suspicion of dui near his home in florida. police found him asleep at the wheel on the side of the road. officers say he admitted being on prescription medications. he has been recovering from his latest surgery for a lower back injury. college just got more manageable for one deserving students. >> samantha had no idea what was coming her way when she appeared on the "today" show this

happen to good people. with her dad going through that, difficult for her. >> love the way they did that, too. you are not going to love this. dangerous heat blanketing the western part of the country. they're expecting a high of 116 degrees in las vegas today. it's reached the point that many flights are having to be canceled now because certain planes cannot take off in that kind of extreme heat. and zoo animals are spending plenty of time in cool mud and water in arizona. officials are closing this zoo actually at noon each day this week so they can focus on the care of the animals. temperature in phoenix could top out at 120 today. you just want to stay in the water, guys. >> nothing like a little mud to cool you off. somebody knows very well the difference between the heat in phoenix and the humidity that we often get here like we had the last few days. krystal moved here from phoenix. you felt hot there and hot, too. >> i am not missing 120 degree

weather. my family is calling me and saying they are not going to walk out the door the whole day. it's not comfortable. the humidity here could be a bear. take a look at our view on radar and satellite. that cold front has swept across the area. that is the thick clouds you see here. that is the back side of the front itself. that took with it all the high humidity. now we're looking at spotty clouds and otherwise nice conditions across the entire region today. and if we look at a wider view, we don't really have anything in our immediate direction. so, we're not looking at rain tonight, tomorrow morning. now, we do have to watch this area of rain that is starting to sweep over michigan right now. that will be heading our way. but that's not until tomorrow evening and really it looks to break up for the most part. so, tomorrow, looking pretty good. here's our temperatures currently. 86 in philadelphia and 82 in the suburbs. we're at 83 in the lehigh valley. sun out there with spotty clouds about all we're worrying about.

in delaware temperatures up to 87 in harmony hills and 90 degrees right now. as we track farther south, ellendale at 81 and just to give you another perspective view of where they think that tornado might have passed through. it was right in this area that they were concerned. that area was warned. we brought to you yesterday on air during the 6:00 p.m. newscast. let's talk about the phillies game. 7:05 versus the cardinals. 85 degrees for your first pitch. midgame 79 degrees for the temperature and then ninth inning about 77 for your temperature. so, really, if you're thinking about going to the game, haven't decided yet, looking very good baseball weather with the winds around 5 to 15 miles per hour. here are the highs for tomorrow. right around where we are today. 87 in philadelphia. 85 in the suburbs. right around 83 in the lehigh valley. 80 at the shore and 86 both south jersey and delaware. notice the icons. we see a mix of clouds and sun

and a few little rain drops on the board snuck in. and that's because i think there are going to be some spotty showers to try to make their way through. nothing worth worrying about if you do have plans tomorrow outside. but there is the rain that we have our eyeball on right now. we go through the night. doesn't affect us. we go through tomorrow morning. 8:00 a.m., still not affecting us. as we get into the afternoon hours, there you see some sprinkles passing by. that will continue into the evening and otherwise we're looking at a pretty good wednesday forecast. let's talk about quickly your ten-day on 10. tomorrow a forecast high of 87 degrees and bump up to 89 on thursday. tomorrow still less humid, but by thursday the humidity starts to creep back up. and there it is. friday into saturday. we've got the possibility of more thunderstorms. may even see some lingering showers sunday or monday. >> not for the weekend. >> i know. why does that have to happen on the weekend. too early to know about the fourth of july. way beyond the ten day. >> we have some computer models that go very far.

bucks county. that is where a freight train carrying propane jumped the tracks. >> let's go straight to nbc 10 deanna durante following the breaking developments live at that scene. deanna? >> this scene right on the border of sellersville. we've been able to move down and get you a closer look. standing at the corner of ninth and jessica lane here. if you take a look past all those emergency vehicles. what you see there. first we thought that was a railroad bridge. that is one of the affected cars flipped over on its side. more than 20 cars involved in this train that was moving through the suburban area here in bucks county. 17 of those cars carrying propane. we're told those cars are secured. no leaks from those cars. some of the cars flipped over five to six cars that are affected. three completely on their sides, those are refrigerated box cars and the diesel fuel that was keeping the items in the cars cold. that is what is a concern here. that's what we are told that is

leaking into a basin that could approach the nearby perkiomen creek here. three affected cars and three completely off the tracks there. the investigation will take some time into what caused this. and several days and maybe even a week is this cleanup. you have has cat crews from bucks county and montgomery county here. more than 50 emergency personnel from state police to local police to the fire department all here trying to contain this. and as well as direct traffic. good news, no injuries, no evacuations and even though some of this diesel fuel may affect the nearby water basin, we're told that right now no concerns for residents. the most that they have to worry about at this point, they may smell some diesel fuel but hazmat crews here are cleaning that up. deanna durante, nbc 10 news. >> one gentleman said he lives down there and heard it going almost off the track. i live on north main street and i heard the sirens blasting coming through north
