law enforcement is still here. the businesses in this area are back to normal. for an hour this morning, they were on lockdown. >> that was too early for choir practice. >> minutes before 8:30, she had just finished cutting her first client's hair when she heard gunshots. >> i walked in and saw the five or six rapid suspensions. >> police arrived at the iron hill brewery. . they found a man dead, the suspect was gone. e we saw multiple evidence markers near a loading dock. officers searched a red car. >>. >> businesses here went on lockdown. >> i heard they were speaking to people over the intercom. no one in or out. that's when we locked the front door here. >> after an hour, the lockdown

was lifted and business returned to thol. prosecutors believe the shooting was not random and the victim was targeted. but the search continues for the gunman. . having that hackdown lifted indicated there was not an eminent threat to the community. we just learned the brewery will reopen at 5:30 this evening. none of their employees or customers were involved in the shooting. reporting live, nbc 10 news. breaking news, a judge agreed to release the names of the jurors this the bill cosby sexual assault trial. the ruling came down minutes ago. in it the judge says the list of names will be issued in the near future once the jurors have been informed. nbc news was one of many media outlets pushing for the information, but releasing the names could make jury selection more difficult for a retrial.

the judge declared a mistrial after jurors announced they were hope leslie dead locked. more on the ruling from deanna durante coming up in about ten minutes. a south jersey woman found dead in her pool over the weekend and authorities have now ruled this a homicide. the body of 47-year-old michelle long was found saturday at her home. the medical examiner says the cause was blunt force trauma. the prosecutor's office is now investigating how she died. officials haven't released any information on a possible suspect, but they say there's no safety concern for residents in the neighborhood. philadelphia's district attorney was back in federal court today as prosecutors try to prove bribery and fraud charges against him. today prosecutors questioned witnesses about money they say was supposed to go to nursing hoesm care.

east. this is going to graze the philadelphia area here and hitting potstown. just grazing the philadelphia area and points to the north. another shower or thunderstorm near the del mar area. that's moving to the east as well. this is a large one. this is a tropical storm cindy. even though it's about to make landfall and die out, there's a tremendous amount of moisture with it and that's what we're going to be watching over the next couple days. but in the meantime, the storms coming through with some locally heavy rains. in the meantime, we have had some nice summer weather during the day so far. and meteorologist krystal klei is out in that weather.

>> i am right now in pains park, which is near the art museum. with the clouds moving in, feels pretty good outside. it's warm in the 80s, but it's not stopping the guys from enjoying the first day of summer but it happens to coincide with international go skating day. so there's a huge crowd out here right now. you can see actually they said there's a few folks that are professionals in the mix. so let's talk temperatures right now. we have temperatures that are mostly in the mid- to upper 80s. . those are the highs. they are starting to drop a few degrees with some of the showers moving in and the clouds. passing by. you see temperatures in philadelphia. if we go to our temperature trend and over the next several days a pickup in temperatures and unfortunately in the hum humidity. so while today we had 8, it will

police officer in the neck. the officer is in stable condition r. the suspect in custody. he's from quebec. passengers were shake b. >> it's kind of scary. u yo don't know what's going on. we are just hoping the police officer is all right. >> the fbi is look iing at terrorism as a possible motive. in another development, police officers are stations outside flint city hall, which is five mile was tr the airport. but the police chief says the increased security is only a precaution. keith jones, nbc 10 news. new video of an f-16 fighter jet that caught fire while trying to take off in hughousto. the pilot safely ejected. crews were called for a report of a doined plane. it went up in flames before it ever took off. it's unclear why. to montgomery county, it's bye-bye a a day of detours. a water main break closed mount caramel. that line burst around 6:00 this

morning. no word on what caused it to open up. from the florida panhandle to eastern texas, people are feeling the effects of tropical storm cindy this afternoon. we have a live picture from louisiana right here. that town was heavily damaged by hurricane rita in 2005 and hurricane ike three years later. it's raining hard in parts of louisiana this afternoon. and in some cases, roads are already flooded. the storm is still pushing ashore. that means the really drenching rains aren't expected until tomorrow. >> they have water on the roads starting to cross the roads. i just came from there. if you don't have a truck, you're going going. >> the governor declared a state of emergency and the national guard is sending high water vehicles and helicopters into flood-prone areas throughout the state. glenn schwartz will have more on the potential impact on our area in just a few minutes. some are calling it the best kept secret in washington. we're talking about the senate republican health care bill.

members that their names are about to be released publicly. deanna durante, nbc 10 news. now to a major shakeup at uber. the ceo and founder of the ridesharing service is out of a job. he resigned early this morning. he was under rsh from investors worried about a series of scandals and management problems. he co-founded uber in 2009. the company is valued at nearly $70 billion. the gunman who attacked congressman on a baseball field in virginia last week acted alone. that word today from the fbi. james hodgkinson opened fire as they practiced for a charity baseball game last wednesday. steve scalise was seriously wounded. the hospital announced he has been upgraded to fair condition. the fbi announced it has found no link to terrorism. >> while the shooter was not known to have a history of diagnosed mental illness, he is

known or was known to have an anger management problem. >> authorities say james hodgkinson left behind a long written record of opposition to republican politics. >> the field where the shooting happened is hosting games. the sheriff threw out the first pitch to officially reopen it during a little loeg game last night. homeland security chief jeh johnson testified on russian interference in the election. he told lawmakers he does not believe russian hacking altered votes, but the u.s. can and should do to protect the elections systems from cyber attacks. president trump said the son-in-law and adviser has arrived in the region. it's aim ed a the restarting palestinian peace talks. president trump has tasked jared kushner with the goal of laying the groundwork for what he calls the ultimate deal. lawmakers in delaware are

valley seeing a lot more clouds than other parts of the area. you'll see why in a a minute. we have the sea breeze coming in and that's why the shore area is not quite as warm. 83 in summers point j the bridge. the ocean temperature is 62. it's 78 degrees at cape may point. the feels like temperature, that's going to be going up. by tomorrow we're talking about near 90 degrees, but how about friday? close to 100. so we've got one day of some really steamy weather. now we don't have 90 degree weather, but we have enough heat to create a couple thunderstorms. there's a severe thunderstorm warning out for parts of chester and montgomery county. this is just until 4:45. gusty winds perhaps up to 60 miles per hour associated with some of these. we're not seeing a lot of

lightning here, but there's some very heavy rain headed toward phoenixville. for some of the heavierer rain coming in. and a little bit wider view we're talking about philadelphia closer to 5:00. and camden at about 5:05. that's from the same little cluster. that's about the only significant area in our region for precipitation. this is more than just significant. this is going to be a real problem along the gulf coast. some tremendous floding and tloding. there's a lot of moisture here. and the direction that that moves is going to determine whether we see it or not. and look at the computer models. pretty good agreement bringing it close enough to us. not a a tropical storm, but some

of the rain from it coming in friday and especially into part of saturday. it's going to be on the hotter side. 88 in reading. 83 in egg harbor township. 82 in avalon. watch the hour by hour as we go through thursday and into friday. here's friday morning. the first batch of rain and possible thunderstorms. you saw some of the heavier stuff coming through toward the midday hour. and then there's going to be that other batch coming in friday night and into saturday morning. look at that. that's some pretty heavy rain. that is tropical moisture associated with the remnants of cindy. so over the weekend, we have some storminess on friday. rain into saturday. at least into saturday morning.

and then those remnants as long as it continues moving at the current speed it moves out. e we may even clear out saturday afternoon and sunday looks like the nicest day of the weekend. you can see the temperatures not quite into the 90 degree mark and sunday the humidity will be dropping as well. so right now, it looks like sunday is the noisest day of the weekend. pennsylvania students getting the last word after his mike was muted during his graduation speech. >> hopefully this will change. >> still ahead at 4:00, the late night talk show host who helped him finish what he started this time on national tv. plus growing family. kim kardashian and kanye west announcing their plans for baby number three. and backwards bus.

nbc 10 tracking the threat for thunderstorms on this thirst day of summer. you can see where the rain is headed across pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. not everyone will see rain this afternoon. that's why our neighborhood weather is so important. >> first alert mote roolgs glenn schwartz is back and tracking the latest on where these storms are now and when we can expect them. >> it does appear that this little cluster of heavy showers and thunderstorms has changed direction a little bit. that increases the threat to

philadelphia. this is the way it looks now live. north and west, first county, lehigh valley, you're in the clear. farther to the south, most of south jersey, you're in the clear. but right under this, it's pouring. and that includes up toward hath field. how heavy is that rain? at the rate of 4 inches per hour at the most intense part of that storm. it's moving, so it's not dpoing to rain for an hour. but that is an indication of just a tremendous downpour. and a little bit farther to the west, 3.66 inches per hour. so let's see just where this storm is.

and it's going to be pretty heavy for awhile. now we do have severe thunderstorm warnings for this particular storm for parts of chester and montgomery counties. and now into parts of philadelphia. the wind gusts could be over 50 miles per hour. not seeing a lot of lightning with this, but you see this line right here. this is what we will call an outflow boundary from this storm. some of that gusty winds come down in here. you can also see how it's moving toward the philadelphia area. so get ready for some rain. it's not going to rain all evening. it will move right past. i'll tell you when we have more significant rain, coming up. right now at 4:00, mistaken release. >> police say they let the wrong prisoner go after a mix up this paperwork. police released russell bryant on theft charges but he was supposed to be behind bars for sexual assault and attempted

rape. how police got the suspect back behind cbars. >> she joins us live from west philadelphia. >> reporter: there should have been paperwork that reflected the rape charges but it was missing from the stack. so instead of going back to prison, he was sent is out the door on his own recognizance. 12 hours on the loose, russell bryant is now in custody. the philadelphia man got a brief taste of freedom when police let him go. he was being transported where he was being held since may 23rd on attempted rape charges. he was brought to the 18th district to face a theft charge. police say in that case, he stole a cell phone from an employee in university city. dylan is a friend of the victim. >> e she seen an old man coming acting suspicious.

the next thing she knew he was gone. >> reporter: police say he went to drexel university police at midnight look iing for a bag tan from him when he was arrested for attempted rape. they told him to come back in the morning and police got an alert that philadelphia police were looking for him. police arrested bryant when he walked through the door for a second time around 9:30 this morning looking for his bag. >> he went to directirexel to t about another case and they recognized him. >> they are now reviewing the paperwork mix up. >> we have to figure out wo to make sure this doesn't happen. >> reporter: philadelphia police say they can't remember a time when a suspect was released due to a clerical error in this process. he will be back in court tomorrow to face charges. i'm denise nakano, nbc 10 news. a push to protect pets in pennsylvania when the weather heats up. lawmakers are urging the general assembly to act on legislation

during a picnic lunch. last night he visited citizens bank park bringing out the ball for the first pitch before the phillies game. look how dark the clouds are building over center city. it's raining. this is way ahead of the tropical storm. it's kind of an isolated cluster of storms. it's passed birks county and lehigh valley. and it is coming in. there's avenuing on to that's getting close.

in norristown, the storm is move ing past so the rain is getting much lighter. here in marion it is getting heavier. and in philadelphia, it will be getting heavier very shortly. now we have already had a couple of reports of wind damage. this is one in potstown. trees and power lines down at 4:00 with estimated 70 mile an hour wind gusts with that particular storm. in green lane, also some trees and wires down at 4:12 p.m. 5:15 it covers all the philadelphia area and parts of camden as well.

it continues to move toward the southeast. originally they were moving west to east. sometimes they take it right into philadelphia we'll track it toward the coastline as it continues farther to the southeast. it's a much larger system. there's the track of the remnants from the various computer models. ask it's pushing moisture in here already. so i think even on friday, we're going to be seeing rain from cindy. then on saturday, the models are

in pretty good agreement with at least a period of some heavy rain. perhaps friday night ask. into saturday morning before it races out of here and gives us nice weather for the rest of the weekend. here we are in philadelphia now. that's a live picture. it's cloudy here. parts of the pa suburbs getting rain. knock down the temperatures. 68 degrees ahead of the tomorrow in new jersey. beautifully sun thi. look at these building clouds in the lehigh valley as that temperature has knocked down to 78 degrees. an interesting situation here this afternoon. by tomorrow, it's dry. but it's getting hotter. not all that humid. and then some of the moisture from the remnants of cindy starts coming up on friday.
