missing delaware for the most part, but this area looks like it dragged over the next couple of hours. your futurecast shows some of the showers coming through delaware, but then we dry out as we go through the evening. and the temperatures are going to be pretty decent through the night tonight. humidity is going to be gradually going up through the next couple days. >> it's taking up the entire roadway. you can't pass through because of the tree. you can see that it actually snapped off to the left right near the river. but this is blocking the entire pathway. now i want you to follow me along mlk road out looking over

falls bridge here. this is where this is down at. you see the yellow tape. they are not any crews here that are removing this tree. where we came from is the other side of the tree. e we had to let the police line let us through. they are diverting on that side near strawberry mansion grij brij. so either side you cannot pass through because of this enormous tree in the way. hopefully it clears soon. to this now, a murder behind the popular restaurant in burlington county has a community on edge tonight. this really has shaken neighbors nerves.

>> he worked there at the elbow appliance and hat res store. they don't know why he was shot, but they are saying that he was targeted. >> defb young was found dead just before 8:30 this morning. he was shot multiple times. >> i walked through and that's when i heard the five or six rapid suspension. >> they were speaking to people over the intercom. so no one in or out. that's when we locked the front door here. >> the victim was targeted, but so far they don't know why. the shooter or shooters are still on the run. >> scary that the suspect wasn't captured. >> after about an hour, the lockdown was lifted. detectives thought to interview witnesses and gather surveillance video in the area.

>> i had a key in the office. i was able to let myself in, but we kept the office locked. a little while later, an hour later, a detective came in and asked some questions. >> at this hour, detectives continue to look for clues that they work to track down who's responsible. >> back out here live within the last hour, officers left the scene and a sense of normalcy is returning to these businesses. meanwhile, prosecutors tell me that they are following up on leave. >> philadelphia police say an error put a man back on the street. denise nakano is live in west philadelphia. so how did this mix up happen? >> it all came down to a mix up in paperwork. they thought they were processing him on a theft charge. and now they are looking at policy and procedure.

the lam for 12 hours. >> this really is shocking to me. i never heard something like this before. >> philadelphia police are now reviewing the paperwork mix up that set bryant free. >> maybe there's a way to make sure that paperwork is married uptighter. maybe the same set of documents. >> now police do not believe he committed any crimes in the 12 hours of freedom, but he will be back in court tomorrow to face sexual assault charges. reporting live, i'm denise nakano, nbc 10 news. the death of a south jersey woman found in her pool over the weekend has been rule d a homicide. michelle long was found saturday at her home in wool witch township. the medical examiner says the cause of the 47-year-old's death is blunt force trau ha. they are investigating how she died. nbc 10 where a worker died in an accident this morning.

officials say that employee was electrocuted while in a bucket truck. a philadelphia cab driver is recover iing after being shot twice in the leg. . it happened today as he was being robbed at 29th and ogden. the robbers got away with $400. prosecutors in the seth williams corruption case focused on money that was supposed to be spent on nursing home care for his mother. but instead prosecutors say williams kept that money for himself. today prosecutors questionedens withes about the money b. one woman said her husband wrote a check for $10,000. an auditor testified how the check was used and did not see any money for medical expenses but did see it pay water bills. the names of jurors in the bill cosby sexual assault case will be made public, but there

are some conditions. jurors cannot talk about anything that transpired in the jury room. lawyers argued the names should remain secret and e release lging them could make it harder to select another jury. the gunman who shot and wounded steve scalise acted alone. the 66-year-old james hodgkinson approached republicans while they practiced for their annual charity baseball game. he fire d a barrage of bullets into the crowd. the fbi says hodgkinson did not have any ties to terrorism. he was shot and killed by u.s. capitol police. scalise remains hospitalized. today he was upgraded to fair condition. a senate intelligence committee is looking into the death of russian hacking efforts in the 2016 presidential election. today a department of homeland security cyber security official says there's evidence that 21 state election systems were target ed.

she stopped short of resleeling which states were targeted saying it's up to them to release that information. the epa plans to cut 1200 jobs. the administration posed a cut to the budget. employees will receive buy out offers now through september d 2nd. local employees plan to protest the cuts tomorrow at noon at independence hall. >> a new push to combat climate change. he's joining 99 mayors across the country. the group is pledging to transition cities toward 100% clean energy. it follows the decision to withdraw from a landmark agreement to fight climate change. lawmakers in delaware are considering tax hikes to balance the budget. several bills are up for discussion. one is a proposal to raise rates across the board, eliminate deductions, and create a a new tax bracket for income above $150,000.

getting recognition from world report. the publication named philadelphia among the best places to visit in the u.s. and the best historic destinations in the country. last year 42 million people paid philadelphia a visit. taking a live look outside at the philadelphia skyline. today's thunderstorms bringing power outages to the region. more than 14,000 customers are still in the dark. >> 1400 electric customers are without power. 11,000 power outages in montgomery county as storms roll through. are we finished with this? >> we're finished with the severe storms except right on long beach island. that's what's left of the storms that came through. there's more rain coming into part of philadelphia and now going to be down into delaware.

these are not severe storms that are back to the west. as we take a look here we're finally seeing some of the rain in delaware. you are other batch of rain through philadelphia, but nothing like what we did see a little heavier near chester and right over coming right into south ph some trees down or wires down. and near a few of them started at 4:00 with the first damage report. green lane at 4:12. then we have phoenixville at 4:14. trees and wires down. rattner at 4:35.

then we turn our eyes. a lot of moisture associated with it. the remnants of this storm moving up to the north and then to the northeast. computer models tracks have much in it agreement. at least some of this moisture is going to come this way. if it tracks farther to the south. we'll have less rain. if it tracks up this way, we'll at least get a period of some heavy rain out of this. friday night into saturday morning. it's 73 in philadelphia. look at lehigh value e lee. delaware starting to get into the rain at 8.

dry weather, it's going to get hot with a fair amount of sunshine. then some of those remnants from cindy start coming in. there's friday morning with one batch. some of it on the heavy side. then another batch toward midday. it's going to be variable around here on friday. so we expect some showers and storms. but hot and humid. saturday a period of heavier rain. most likely in the morning. then it races out and perhaps the rest of the weekend is looking good. sunday certainly looks good with comfortable temperatures and low humidity. i'm john clark. coming up, we'll hear from new york today getting ready to be drafted by the sixers.

a live look on top of center city. you still see the rain drops on the lens on this first day of summer. ushering it in with wet weather. >> kind of stormy. >> pretty interesting looking. it's clearing now again to the west. changes every five minutes out here. the big storms just moving off long beach island. we have that other last area of rain that is come through parts of delaware and into south jersey and part of philadelphia. and then we have a pretty nice day tomorrow, although it's going to be pretty hot. 90 degrees. the humidity goes up friday and then some of the tropical remnants from cindy comes and hits us friday and saturday before sunday turns out nice.
