williams. joseph sullivan is careful not to criticize seth williamsism but did say the d.a. pulled him into a scheme and williams wanted him to get special access at philadelphia international airport. >> it would appear that way. >> reporter: sullivan told the jury when williams reached out to him williams told him muhammad ali was being racially profiled. sullivan says he was concerned by the report to the d.a. he told the jury at first when he contacted the feds he was told ali was not under watch or concern. as they continued to press sullivan to get better treatment in the airport sullivan learned ali was a person the d.a. should stay away from. sullivan told the jury he warned williams more than once to stay away. he said he never learned to what extent his problems were. >> i think all of you know me.

you know what kind of law enforcement officer i am. my personal dedication to this city. if you do this job for 36 years it is not just something you put your finger on. i felt something wasn't right and i felt the best course of action was to run that through the fbi. >> reporter: after talking with the fbi sullivan says seth williams pushed the issue inviting him to a lunch and said he continued to tell williams and ali there was nothing he could do and had no idea ali was supplying expensive gifts to williams. sullivan told the jury if he had known that he would have quote gone to the fbi sooner. on the stand right now a philadelphia bar owner who told the jury he knew by supplying seth williams with a car he would get payback from the d.a. that man is still testifying. we will tell you more about what he said and what he wanted in return coming up tonight at 5:00. and the new details this

afternoon on a woman found beaten and stabbed over the weekend. investigators say the victim is debra gullver. investigators say she was attacked. >> need to talk to them. if they see this we need them to reach out to us and come in. they were in the park during the time probably of the murder or shortly thereafter. we need to talk to them, as well. >> if you know anything about this murder call police. there is a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. first alert weather. just a perfect day to be outside. nbc 10 here in valley forge where people were sporting shorts, t shirts and tank tops as they walk through the trails. same story at the shore. the weekend is over but it is still kind of packed at the beaches.

makes you want to extend the weekend. >> yeah. >> the weekend wasn't bad either especially after we got past saturday morning storms. a lot of sunshine across the area. the air is very clean. humidity very low for this time of the year. unusually low. 80 degrees now in philadelphia with the west wind. that's bringing in drier air. 82 atlantic city international. 79 in allen town. and not much in the way of cloud buildup let alone showers. there are some in northwestern pennsylvania. that itself is not going to be coming here. there could be one or two showers that develop overnight. watch this. hour by hour you can see through this evening a little bit of moisture coming up in the south at least according to this computer model setting up for

showers later this evening into the overnight hours. it also looks like it would be moving out by the morning rush. so we're not expecting rain then either. so 80 degrees by 6:00. by tomorrow morning it's kind of cool for this time of year. 63 in philadelphia. but 50s in many of the suburbs. 56 degrees in lehigh valley to start off the day tomorrow. that is some really nice comfortable weather. we will see how long that lasts. you know it can't last forever. that's coming up in a few minutes. right now the supreme court will let the trump administration partly enforce its controversial immigration travel ban as it gets ready to hear arguments for the case this fall. >> keith jones in our breaking news center with their decision. what does all of this mean? >> it means a big win for president trump just as the supreme court heads into a summer break.

today's unanimous ruling will allow the trump administration to enforce the 90-day ban on travelers from six muslim majority countries. those are iran, libya, somalia, sedan, yemen. the decision overturned orders from lower courts that blocked it. it does protect immigrants who have a credible claim. the trump administration says it needs the ban to review screening process from visa applications from those countries. president trump issued a statement today praising the ruling calling it a, quote, clear victory for our national security. as president i cannot allow people into our country who want to do us harm. he added today's ruling allows me to use an important tool for protecting our nation's homeland. president trump has said the ban would take effect 72 hours after it gets clearance from the court. the justices will hear arguments when they come back in october.

keith jones, nbc 10 news. 20 minutes of nonstop news continues with a murder mystery inside this farmhouse. the quiet community around the home rattled as police work to figure out who shot and killed a woman here. >> that home is in winslow township. cydney long has been at the scene all day. >> this case has investigators kind of scratching their heads. >> reporter: that's right. i can tell you we are at police headquarters but detectives have been extremely tight lipped about what they do and don't know. when i asked them if this was targeted or random homicide the answer we got was this is a very complicated case. it comes as the tight knit community is concerned that praying for answers and an arrest. this rural stretch is home to

tractors and farm workers especially in the heart of the blueberry harvest. instead detectives together with winslow police are canvassing the area asking neighbors have anyone has surveillance camias. >> it is scary to have this stuff so close. >> reporter: police are working to solve this sudden murder. scordo was 45 and never married. detectives confirm she was shot multiple times in the head. >> i want them to know that we are real sorry. >> reporter: it's affecting this whole community. some insist day laborers can become familiar with farmers and potential for large stash of cash. they say it is especially dangerous recipe and inviting to criminals. >> they are on the pay roll. all the blueberry pickers.

to jump out of the way. senate republicans made a significant change to their proposed health care bill. >> the changes create benalties for people who don't maintain their health care coverage basically if you go two months without insurance you won't be allowed to buy health care coverage for six more months. they say this is critical for paying for the new plan. supporters of the change argue without the penalty it is possible only sick people sign up. senate majority leader c er mit mcconnell wants to push it through this week. today pediatricians with children's hospital of philadelphia, parents and health care providers came together in king of prussia. they wanted to advocate against cuts. one mother has twin daughters. the 9 year olds have rare diseases and require a lot of

care. >> both of them have progressive diseases so their needs are going to increase over time. without the medication, without the therapy, without the treatment that they are getting, one of my daughters will decline probably fairly rapidly and is going to need more services, not less. >> pediatricians say one in five children in philadelphia has asthma, the leading cause of hospitalizations and medicaid is the lead payer for those e.r. visits. nancy pelosi was in philadelphia today echoing some of the same issues. >> i was there as she talked about economic development, leadership and the health care bill. a standing ovation for the democratic leader in philadelphia to energize women and rally support. >> we are in a situation that is historic. we have an historic opportunity

hold the line and make advances. >> reporter: the visit comes days before a potential vote on the senate version of health care reform. both pelosi and philadelphia area representative dwight evans call it devastating. >> the bill in the senate now is probably the worse piece of legislation for women in the history of the congress. >> it is far from over. you can see this is not a slam dunk. >> reporter: the senate bill can only afford to lose two republican senators or it will fail. five oppose the current version. some republicans say the bill doesn't go far enough to repeal and replace obamacare. others worry about the impact to proposed medicaid cuts. president trump says he is fully behind the senate plan. >> i want to see the bill. health care is a very complicated subject. >> premiums go up, benefits down. >> reporter: pelosi says democrats are still fighting and now is the time to reach out on the local level like here in

philadelphia. >> i have an opportunity to engage the public as to what is at stake. >> pelosi talked about being disappointed that part of the trach travel ban was reinstated. one of the nation's biggest health insurers says the senate health care bill will improve stability of the individual insurance market. says the bill will help cover expenses like deductibles. republicans have to have everyone on board for that bill to pass. >> these centers need to remember that they campaigned on repealing and replacing obamacare. president trump spent part of his day entertaining india's prime minister at the white house. the leaders say they want stronger ties. the company that made exploding air bags responsible for the death of more than a dozen people filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.

takata recalled more than 11 millionaire bags after finding they could explode. the detroit based company is buying most of its assets. takata is still not out of the woods. it owes billions to liabilities to car companies and faces legal challenges for alleged cover up. jury selection in the fraud case of pharmaceutical ceo is going slowly. a slew of cameras followed martin skareli. one woman telling the judge quote i think he is a very evil man. he is on trial for allegedly frauding investors out of $11 million. nearly $12 million is how much it cost to hunt down and capture eric frein, a man who killed a pennsylvania state trooper.

the 48-day manhunt happened in september 2014 after frein attacked state police barics. of that $12 million, 10.5 million was spent on overtime for police. 1.4 million for cameras and other equipment and the rest for state police from new york and new jersey who helped look for him. new details on a house fire tat killed a 9-year-old boy in chester county. police confirmed that fire was started by accident in the kitchen. crews rushed to the scene early yesterday morning as the boy's father tried to save him. he was injured trying to reach the second floor where his son was sleeping at the time. a follow up to a story we brought you as breaking news at 6:00. fire officials say they are looking into the space between two of these burned homes to see where this fire started. huge flames and a cloud of smoke

can be seen for miles. the fire damaged three homes all together. no one was hurt. take a look at this. a fire ripped through the porches of two row homes in delaware county. it happened around 1:30 this morning. no one was hurt and we are working to find out what started this fire. ♪ >> remembering and honoring those from our area who served our country during the korean war. today the korean american association held this memorial ceremony to commemorate the 67th anniversary. the service was held at the korean war memorial. on a lighter note if you take your four wheel drive vehicle down the shore you can park it on the sand in wild wood. city commissioners voted unanimously to allow parking on beaches. officials say this will bring in more money, free up regular parking spots and could bring more people to the shore town.

check your tickets. a million dollar powerball ticket was sold in philadelphia over the weekend. the lucky ticket matched all five white balls. 10, 22, 32, 36 and 58.  it ticket missed the powerball falling short of the $79 million jackpot. no one won the jackpot so it stands at $92 million. a million bucks just like that. wasn't me. >> i am feeling pretty lucky about the weather. who needs a million bucks? >> weather is worth a million bucks. for the end of june and just about getting into the beginning of july it is unbelievably comfortable weather that we have had. not just yesterday and today. tomorrow and the next day, too. that's even more unusual to get that stretch of comfortable

weather. 80 degrees, fair weather clouds in philadelphia and close to 80 across much of the rest of the area. a lot of blue in the sky. the air is unusually clean for this time of the year. normally it gets hazy and we have these ozone action days and all of that. not with this kind of pattern. we have a bit of a sea breeze today. 63 degree ocean. the wind off that is cooling down ventner at 75. cape may point at 77. a little bit of a westerly wind inland. 81 at summers point. we will be seeing some sea breezes as we head towards the fourth of july weekend calling things down at the shore. will not be in the 90s there. very comfortable through thursday. that's for sure. showers just a chance tonight and again tomorrow afternoon.

and the fourth of july weekend hot and humid. there are some thunderstorms in the forecast. you can see the dry air here but showers northwestern pennsylvania and some more showers up towards the great lakes. not any big strong weather systems headed our way. as we go hour by hour we can see isolated showers during the night tonight. tomorrow temperatures climbing in through the 70s. it's still unseasonably cool. there are those isolated showers floating around there. that is about it for tuesday. tuesday, wednesday beautiful, comfortable days. thursday the temperature jumps up. humidity jumps up a bit. still expecting generally dry weather. i have moisture just starts coming into this area. similar story except at the jersey shore where that

southerly wind will keep things cool. let's see if the rain on thursday is going to spread as we head towards the weekend. >> it's going to spread all over the place. we're not all going to get it. it will smoosh here and there. here we are on friday in the afternoon. what we are looking at is this push of moisture. this is one of our big global forecast models. this is the global forecast model, the gfs. both have rain moving in. we are well into the 80s and low 90s on friday. saturday things don't look too bad. we are in the upper 80s. we could get a shower coming through here at some point. on sunday looks like maybe an isolated shower and then on monday things look dry. why is that? because all of this moves south. guess what it does. it's hot. it's humid. it's 90 on monday. it wants to move back north. here it comes. on the fourth of july we do have a chance of a shower or thunderstorm. probably not the 90s but well

here is some new video today of that amusement park ride gone wrong in upstate new york. take a look as this 14-year-old girl dangling 20 feet above the ground. the crowd below, she fell into their arms. she is in stable condition right now at the hospital. investigators inspected the ride and found everything was fine. they are still not sure exactly how this happened. the ride will stay closed for now. a dramatic rescue after a

the weekend. we'll get into that in just a few minutes. >> a look at other stories we are following county by county. the family of a woman murdered in 2013 is now filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the man accused of killing her. holly grim's family seeking more than $50,000 in damages against michael horvath who is accused of killing glen and burying her. the suit says the death devastated her son and denied him financial benefits. stretch of a busy highway will be renamed after a fallen state trooper. a part will be frankie williams memorial highway. he was killed in 2016 in a head on crash. governor chris christie is expected to sign that bill this week. a project is underway to help replenish and repair dunes impacted by hurricane sandy.

the project will pump sand to build a 100 foot wide dune in front of the boardwalk. in burlington county an iconic restaurant sign will live on after crews tear down the restaurant. the post says officials are planning to save one of the oldest diner signs. the landmark diner served people for nearly 50 years before it closed in 2008. no word yet on where the sign will be displayed. the mayor hopes it will be up and lit by labor day weekend. we have breaking news out of our nation's capitol about the senate health care bill. the congressional budget office says 22 million more people will be uninsured by the year 2026 if the bill is passed without any changes. it would reduce the federal deficit by about $300 billion. the gop has called for a vote on the bill before the july 4th holiday. your texting could be take ag toll. what doctors have discovered may be tied to all that tapping you

to produce scripted shows. reportedly aiming to launch original programming. is your smart phone giving you carpal tunnel? you're spending more than five hours a day on your phone the answer is maybe according to a new study. researchers found scrolling, tapping and swiping for hours on end is a sure way to agitate your wrist. they found an obvious solution. put your phone down. and the wall paper in your home may be making you sick. we are not talking about the patterns here. researchers say fungus and mold can grow on the wall paper and release dangerous toxins. researchers say it can contribute to sick building syndrome. >> that was some busy wall paper. boys who have older fathers have higher iqs. scientists studied 7,000 se.

this is nbc 10 news. >> one man is dead after he fell 20 feet off of a cliff and on to a rocky ledge while riding his mountain bike. police say two brothers were riding in cedar grove when one fell off the cliff. crews used ropes to recover his body. investigators say it was an accident. imagine holding a funeral for your adult child only to find out that he is really alive. >> cannot imagine that. that happened to one father in california who is still trying to figure out what really happened here. he said he was mistakenly told his son had been killed. he held a memorial service for frankie. dozens of friends and family gathered to say good bye as they laid him to rest near his mother's grave or so they thought.

nearly two weeks after that funeral a family friend called with unbelievable news. >> your son is alive. i said frank is on the phone. he said how are you doing? >> so the coroner's office is telling the lawyer that the body had been misidentified and police are investigating. and the family is pursuing civil lawsuits. one thing they still want to know is who they buried. that's a strange one right there. gone with the wind, the weatherman is literally blown away on live tv. >> he's okay. >> watch again as a gust of wind carries an irish weatherman literally off camera. back at the studio they couldn't stop laughing. he tried to recover after that yellow umbrella gave out on him. his colleagues needed more time

middle town at 79. 82 in lincoln and lewis. right at the beaches it's somewhat cooler in the 70s. it can be cooler than that if you get a stronger sea breeze. fair weather clouds and more moisture up over the great lakes and we are seeing mostly dry weather tonight. 56 in allen town. 55 in redding. even at 64 in philadelphia is below normal. temperatures start to rise pretty nicely as we go through the morning. by afternoon we are up near 80 degrees. notice a lot of clouds around and isolated showers possible during the afternoon. then as we go through the night once again we are seeing a lot

more clouds around. over the next three days after more clouds tomorrow it is just bright and sunny on wednesday and still very, very low humidity. so a spectacular day wednesday. thursday the temperature jumps up. the humidity goes up significantly. it's still not really uncomfortable. not too bad. it's certainly more uncomfortable than tuesday or wednesday. and lehigh valley 70s into 80s and showers for thursday afternoon. at the jersey shore what happens here is the temperature starts going down because the west wind that we are getting now turns to a south wind which is a sea breeze. so that's why it gets cooler there. that is one of the reasons we do neighborhood weather. >> you don't believe in that mary poppins moment that the irish meteorologist had? >> i could have fixed it myself,

nbc 10 breaking news. >> that breaking news involves the senate health care bill. the congressional budget office released new findings about exactly what this bill means. >> it says 22 million more people would be uninsured by 2026 under that bill compared to the current law. however, the senate bill would help reduce the federal deficit by about $320 billion.

earlier today the senate republicans issued a revision of the health care bill with a major change. >> the changes create penalties for people who don't maintain health care coverage. if you go two months without insurance you will not be allowed to buy health care coverage for six more months. the health care show down doesn't stop there. right now there are five senators opposed to the bill. some say it just can't pass in its current form. if three of the five republican senators continue to oppose the bill and no democrats support it the measure will not pass. we have ted greenberg to find out how the bill effects patients and hospitals in our area. >> his story is all new at 5:00. >> it's a concern for me. >> reporter: without medicaid lisa miles doesn't know how she would be able to pay for her health care. today the pleasantville woman in atlantic city for tests after a lump was found in one of her breasts. >> because of the circumstances
