prosecutors say a philadelphia bar owner gave the district attorney trips as political favors to help with his liquor license. the defense argued the trips were gifts from a friend. he said he knew it would be money he would never get back, but he liked helping people. prosecutors say williams accepted illegal gifts in exchange for political favors. police need help identifying two men want forward an ashed robbery at a store in frankfurt. look at the surveillance video. one guy pulls out a gun, points it at the man behind the register. . if you have seen them, call police. police also want to find three men who broke into jocelyn's grocery store in north philadelphia. the suspect stole money,s and head phones. it happened last friday morning on north 18th street.

new at 5:00, 50 people face charges in an undercover drug bust. operation wildfire led to 46 arrests over the last two months in chester county. the investigation removed heroin and opioid dealers from the streets. 97 people died from drug doses in chester county last year alone. today pope francis and the vatican appointed a new bishop to oversee the allentown arch doi cease. >> he didn't have to search far to find him. he got a standing ovation today in allentown. he's a familiar face for lehigh valley kcatholics having worked in the area for 30 years. he will take over as the catholic church ask all organized religions grapple with fewer young church goers. the bishop said the church is work connect with young people on their level.

a push for cultural change in gymnastics. >> jay gray explains, the report shows the organization has done little to protect young athletes. >> in a sport defined by grace and precision, new information that gymnastics fell well e below the bar when it comes to protecting athletes. >> it was surprising to me there was no requirement that members report. >> reporter: an internal investigation calls for a complete cultural change within the organization. it comes as national team's position faces a fire storm of civil lawsuits along with state and federal charges of sexual abuse and possession of child pornography. >> this guy is despicable. he is a monster.

>> reporter: he's been accused of violating more than 80 young girls. >> it's laughable. >> the lawyers have denied the accusations. over the last 20 years, hundreds of gymnasts have reported abuse at the hands of authority figures associated with gymnastics. today's report says the true number of those victimized over that period of time cannot be estimated but is surely far higher. it calls for a complete overhaul within the organization 70 recommended changes covering ten key areas all adopted by the usa gymnastics board of directors. jay gray, nbc 10 news. >> dozens of passengers were hurt after a new york city subway train slid off the tracks this morning. the collision caused a power outage leaving passengers in the dark. they are trying to find their

way out of the tunnel. metro officials say the brakes went into emergency mode causing it to hit a a concrete wall and derail. the husband of a woman killed in the crash at the terminal last fall filed a lawsuit. the 34-year-old woman was at the terminal last september when a transit train traveling at twice the speed limit crashed into the terminal. the family filed a wrongful death lawsuit. that lawsuit claims new jersey transit and the trin's engineer. >> eyewitness video surfaced in it that video the suffers were seen kicking a man who turned out to be an innocent it bystander. the officers are now on modified duty.

you can see some of those fair weather clouds and drops a few showers. we even had our hail alga rhythm pop up this afternoon. so maybe some pea-sized hail was trying to fall. beautiful sky out there. we should be in the 80s this time of year. nowhere near that. heading to the holiday weekend, what can we expect out there? it's going to be splendid for tomorrow. it will be picture perfect. sunny, low humidity, mild, almost like today. perhaps a degree or two warmer. so right around 80ish is where woer going to be. just another fabulous day. then the humidity returns. if it you like it steamy, you're going to love the start of thursday. we'll see the humidity in here by friday ask saturday.

so it is going to be quite oppressive and stormy. you know there would be a few storms. saturday night into sunday looks like the best chance. i'm not saying something isolated couldn't pop up on friday. making their way across the hour. we're still look at showers oxford. easton, clinton, you're just going to see a sprinkle or brief shower as these move off to the north and east. also moving into parts of delaware. we're starting to see a little activity. our next player is well off to the west coming out of the northern rockies. in between that, we have some very nice weather for tomorrow and thursday. then we start to get busy with that next storm system headed

our way. let's break it down hour by hour. spotty shower through the evening hours. otherwise by 11:30, all clear out there. very comfortable. we're looking at winds out of the northwest tomorrow. 9 in philadelphia with no sunshine. and thursday isn't until the evening when we pick up a few showers in the southern poconos near the lehigh valley. the rest of the area should be pretty quiet. on friday, they want to paint in a brief shower here across philadelphia. we're going to make it into the upper 80s and perhaps low 90s across the area. your 4th of july is going to look like this. 88 in philadelphia. 86 in the suburbs. 84 in lehigh valley. south jersey will be 86. 85 in delaware. the only thing they all have in common is a chance of a shower or thunderstorm out there. so we're hoping that the forecast will speed up or slow down.

agents found a lot of unusual items in bags all the airports, but what about a 20-pound lobster. check him out. it was alive. it happened at boston's logan international airport last weekend. tsa says the lobster was this a cooler and passengers can travel with lobsters. they just have to be a clear plastic spill proof container. a woman gave birth to a baby weighing double the size of an average newborn. the baby tipped the scales at 14 pounds, 4 ounces. that's in the weight rage of an average 4 to 5-month-old baby. his parents are happy, but they are still in shock.

travel weekends. there's good news for your wallet, but not so good news for safety on the road. a new survey shows pennsylvania draifrs are among the rudest in the nation. according to the study by cars for kids, pennsylvania came in 42nd in the country for most courteous drivers. people were asked questions like how often do you signal and would you steal someone's parking spot. apparently we didn't perform very well. if you're curious, the most courteous are women out west from 51 to 60 years old. the good news, less pain at the. prices are projected to be at their lowest levels in 12 years this 4th of july weekend. the pennsylvania average is $2.44. it is $2.29 in new jersey. the philadelphia zoo is going half way across the globe to find its name for its neest edition. they partnered with the gorilla
