today. another day of protests at the opening of the g-20 summit there today as the unrest continued to unfold, president trump and russia's president vladimir putin meeting fate face to face for the first time. erin coleman is live in our break eing news center with the littest developments happening overseas. a much anticipated meeting. >> that meeting lasted 2 hours and 16 minutes. it was scheduled for just 30 minutes. president trump opened the meeting by raising concerns about russian interference in the u.s. election. putin denied any role. both voiced confidence their historic first meeting would pave the way for a positive trajectory for both of their countries. >> we had some very good talks. we're going to have a talk now and that will continue. but we look forward to a lot of very positive things happening. russia and the united states ask for everybody concerned. >> they also discussed ukraine, syria, fighting terrorism and

cyber security. president trump stood in the first row during this photo op with other world leaders at the summit. he's there on the far left. the official family portrait is a long standing tradition. president trump called mexico's president his friend in their first face to face meeting. when asked today the president said he absolutely wants mexico to pay for the border wall. he hopes to continue a flowing dialogue. police say more than 100 people have been injured and dozens arrested during protests on the sidelines of the g-20 summit. protests have been violent at times with demonstrators throwing things at police and police using tear gas to try to control angry crowds. authorities have ordered several hundred more officer trs across the country to help the thousands of police already deployed there in the city. protesters kept first lady

melania trump tr joining the spouses at the summit. a spokeswoman said police didn't clear mrs. trump to leave the house where she and the president are staying because of the violence. she tweeted thinking of everyone. police are searching for people who are targeting tra transgender people with paint balls. >> the attacks happened yesterday afternoon. first, a couple says they were walking down the street when someone in a dark gray car shot at them. then a couple minutes later the same car was seen pulling up outside the morris home. a drug rehab center for people who are transgender. they were hit with paint billions. a caretaker at a church says he would have tried to stop the attack if he had been there.

believe she's gone. >> i still can't wrap my head around it. >> gofundme page was set up to cover funeral costs. the goal was $25,000 but the page raised more than $44,000. police say a 28-year-old killed roeberson while trying to merge. he was arrested sunday. he's scheduled to make his first court appearance next month. this afternoon there's a new bill on the assembly floor in new jersey that could close the beach house next time there's a government shutdown. this comes after kristen welker and his family spent time on the island beach during the shutdown. while no one else was allow ed in. earlier this week the governor strongly defended his actions. >> i don't apologize for it. i don't back away from it.

emergency responders gave a dose of narcan to revive her. right now transit is back on track after another derailment at penn station. the slow speed derailment happened as the train was pulling into the station. 180 passengers and crew were on board. they are working with amtrak, which owns the the station, to find out the cause. they want answers saying i am call iing for a full investigatn into all potential causes. family, friends and others gathered last night to honor the murdered officers and to take part in a dedication ceremony for a new memorial in their honor. the officers were killed july 7th in an ambush-style attack. it happened during a protest he

was later killed by officers. it was the deadliest day for law enforcement since 9/11. at the jersey shore, still no motive for an attack in south jersey. it happened at the condos. investigators say the suspect is came after the victim with a sharp object. . that person was treated for a cut to the chest and released from the hospital. police say they only have a possible suspect. while venus williams battled it out on the court today, her attorneys did bat until a florida courtroom. >> they are defending the star in a lawsuit over a deadly car crash last month. the family of a man killed is suing venus williams. a judge heard arguments to stop the plaintiffs from examining the cars involved in the crash. williams' attorney argues evidence could be lost. take a look at that. a massive fire destroyed this building under construction. you can see the flames and smoke

just pouring out of all corners of that building in oakland. firefighters work to keep it from spreading. at least one building was evacuated, but no one was hurt. no word on how that fire started. officials are buying two pieces of land to transform into a park. it comes after concerns from neighbors about increasing truck traffic and growing warehouse developments there. want to show you a map there. the two pieces of land are on olt roads. 20 minutes of nonstop news continues with the holiday week business boom. >> people have extended their vacations into this weekend. that means more money tr the shore's economy. a lot of people will be opening up their wallets today.

things. this thunderstorm is a bad one. that's going down south of washington. this line is going down south of washington. this is the only thing we really need to be concerned with. 84 degrees this philadelphia. partly sunny skies. we had some sun coming this afternoon as we'd expected. morning showers and now we have another round of showers that will be coming in. in delaware it's getting close to 90. 85 in middletown. farther to the south, 84 in allen dale and georgetown. we did get to 80 plus at the beaches with that west wind. so pretty nice afternoon there. the high temperatures, 90 on tuesday. dropping down, remember how nasty yesterday was. going up to mid-80s today. 90 degrees tomorrow. so it's going to feel like
