have been looking for. donald trump jr. did confirm he met with a kremlin russian lawyer in the days just before his father clinched the election for president. he was promised damaging information about hillary clinton but he wasn't the only one in the room. also in attendance, paul man fort and jared kushner. a statement read in part i was asked to have a meeting by an acquaintance with an individual who i was told might have information helpful to the campaign. i was not told her name prior to the meeting. that was the end of it and there was no further contact or followup of any kind. my father knew nothing of the meeting or these events. trump jr. also said the lawyers statements were quote, vague ambiguous and made so sense

adding that it quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information. before changing subjects to discuss the adoption of russian children. a statement from president trump's personal lawyer reitlated the president was not aware of the meeting. >> it was a very short meeting. it was a meeting apparently about russian adoption and after about 20 minutes the meeting ended and that was the end of it. >> but just listen to this assessment from former george w. bush ethic's chief. >> the bush administration never would have tolerated this and if this story is true we'd have one if not both of them in custody by now and we'd be asking them a lot of questions because this is unacceptable. this it's self-treason depending on whether the new york times story is true. >> the leaked meeting comes as the president says it's time for

guilty. he says the local resident did hurt the america but claims he did not hit him on the head. the victim was found dead outside of a bar with a serious head wound. he was working on a photo shoot to launch a new clothing line. he was in a greek resort island and the circumstances of the bar fight were not immediately clear, but police say it involved two groups of people including bar staff. well, thisern mooing's commute is about to get a whole lot tougher. amtrak is beginning eight weeks of emergency repairs at new york's penn station today. the project has been dubbed the summer of hell. service will be reduced by 20% for the passengers who pass through penn station every day. that means much longer delays not just on amtrak but also on the new jersey transit and the long island railroad. the repairs follows a rash of issues over the last few months including derailments, floods and crashes.

this morning at least 50 large wildfires in a scorching heat wave have communities on edge there in the west. evacuations are in effect for thousands of people while others are without power to cool their homes. steve is in a fire zone near santa barbara. >> reporter: a fight for control, massive tanker planes trying to contain some of the 50 large wildfires in 11 states from the air. some 5,000 firefighters are now on the front lines of 14 blazes burning across california. including santa barbara county raging out of control. >> this is when the fire behavior starts to really pick up. >> in just one day it's chewed through thousands of acres destroying at least 20 structures including homes. >> it moved at a quick pace through here and it burned really hot. the house that was standing right here didn't have a chance. >> reporter: the flames engulfed the children's nature camp

not a lot out there. westbound from the vine to the blue route. 11 minute trip. speeds are there in the 60s. >> developing right now in bucks county. four young men including two teenagers reported missing within days of each other. police focusing their investigation investigation. a lot of people are looking for the men. investigators are not say fg the disappearances are corrected. tell us more. >> reporter: you're right. police have not drawn that conclusion as of yet. we do know if bucks county district attorney's office is investigating with the help of several local departments. they're looking for multiple missing people. this is video from last night's search. it took place in the area of route 202 and meeting house road. investigators were searching for these men, he went missing on wednesday. did not show up for work.
