then getting close to 100 degrees in parts of the area. some places getting a little bit above 100 tomorrow. then on friday or thursday it's even higher. 100 from near allentown all the way down to near dover and practically over to the jersey shore. just right at the beaches you get relief there. we have a mix of clouds and sun. we have one or two isolated showers around the big thunderstorms. the ohio valley tracking to the south and east of us. as we go through the afternoon we do expect at least some isolated showers or thunderstorms to develop much of the area not seeing rain this afternoon or tonight and then as we get into thursday, that's a different story. so first of all we have the extreme heat then we have the highest humidity then we have a

cold front coming down from the north and that is likely to bring a line of thunderstorms probably with gusty winds through the area late in the day and into the evening hours setting us up for a much cooler day on friday. so over the next few days, again, just isolated storms today and tomorrow. much more likely thursday. you can see how hot it is. 96 in many of the suburbs. 94 in the lehigh valley. it may not get to 90 in the next few days. jersey shore is one exception. it is pretty close to 90 degrees. it is 98 in parts of delaware. here is the difference. there is wednesday 92 to 84, probably no thunderstorms there. thursday we showed you the 89. look how much cooler it gets on friday and into saturday at the
