learned the news during an hour long session on health care. while mccain's diagnosis ripped through washington it was overnight news that is leading the paper. the "new york times" published a bomb shell interview with mr. trump himself. several headlines pushed for top billing out of that interview it was this major revelation causing an uproar. the president attacking his own attorney general, jeff sessions. >> sessions gets the job. right after he gets the job he recuses himself. >> was that a mistake? >> well, session's should have never recused himself. if he was going to recuse himself he should have told me before he took the job and i would have picked somebody else. how do you take a job and recuse yourself. if he recused himself before the job i would have said thanks,

because i do believe he'll be paroled. >> reporter: if paroled simpson as earliest release date would be october 1st. if that parole is denied simpson has to wait at least a year for his next hearing. back to you. we're now learning more about a bride-to-be final moments before police shot her. newly released transcript showed justin damone placed two calls. she said quote i can hear someone out the back and i'm not sure if she's having sex or being raped. i think she tried to say he had. the officer said he was startled by a loud noise before damone approached his door. then his partner shot her from the passenger seat. so far officer noor has declined to be interviewed.

a new study finds the world has made 9 billion tons of plastic since the 1950s. the vast majority of it is still around. researchers found 79% of all plastic has ended up in landfills with 9% being recycled. in 2015 the same team found millions of tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year. they now say current waste management trends continue there could be over 13 billion tons of plastic in the world's landfill by the year 2050. a massive wildfire in central california just doubled in size. the blaze scorched 50,000 acres near yosemite park. the park doesn't appear to be at risk. the wildfire threatens 1500 structures in the area. thousands of residents have been forced to evacuate as the fire is fueled by high temperatures and dry grass. 3,000 firefighters are bat technology blaze which son lie 7% contained.
