91 in trenton. let's go ahead and take a look at perhaps what's going on across the area as far as how it feels. it feels like 93 in philadelphia. but let's focus on what's going on in new jersey. you feel like 100 in mount laurel. 9 and that's near where the big fire is. so the conditions are not very friendly for any of us anywhere. strong storms headed our way this weekend. we'll talk about that in a few minutes. >> in this dangerous heat, as we mentioned, creating a challenge for firefighters working to get the upper hnd on the smoke burning through the state forest in burlington county. the ring of fire last night and a live lock from sky force 10 at conditions right now. the smoke from this fire is now spreading to three coastal counties just in time for

another busy summer weekend at the shore. >> are firefighters making any progress out there? >> they are. i just got some new numbers within the past couple minutes. so far the fire has burned about 3,000 acres and it's 70% contained. we are about three miles away from the perimeter of that blaze. this is historic village a popular tourist spot. the village and visitors center are completely closed because of the smoke that's causing problems, miles away. >> in burlington county can, glowing into cape may and ocean

counties. a smokey haze impossible to miss in some spots. >> it was scary. it's pretty rough out here today. i have asthma so it's hard to be ut. >> air quality already pour because of extreme heat and humidity. now made even worse by the smoke. >> i get out of it quick. health experts urging people to stay inside. >> if your house is in the path of the smoke you need to keep the air-conditioning on and if you still smell the smoke, then you really need to seriously consider going to a friend or a loved one's house. >> the wildfire, new jersey's largest so far this year, first spotted thursday afternoon how it started under investigation. the blaze is not threatening any homes or businesses and no one

you can see the fire you can see some flames with your ried beneath that black smoke. at least we can see it just from out the windows in sky force 10. i don't know if you can see it as clearly on television, but behind that black smoke are some flames. you can see that huge plume. it's keeping the fire from spreading and they are also low winds right now. lest go back to tammie souza.

>> let's take a look at the current winds. they are off the land. they are not getting any relief. the west wind basically is not from the sea. this is a drier wind. this is not something that's good. you want to see perhaps something from the northeast or something coming from the ocean. we're going to see the heat warning so no relief for the fire. this is it the brand new site lite into space. you can actually see if you look at it. the cloud cover passing over this and the way that the winds are are pushing over where the fire is. so mitch u is right. it's hard to see the fire beneath the clouds and beneath the smoke. we're going to keep watching this to see if we get any i indication of the shift in the winds. guys, over to you. >> if you were too hot and you

dr. james coukaufman filled his south jersey office hoping to pick up their medical records. >> today was the last day patients could get their records from the office. it closed just a few minutes ago for the last time according to staffers. >> drop the gun. drop the gun. >> police body camera video recorded that armed standoff between kaufman b and police back in june. that led to his arrest during a raitd on his office part of a medical fraud investigation. back in 2012 kaufman's wife was murdered inside the couple's home. in camden county, the prosecutor's office is investigating a fight between a kocouncilman and two emts. the site reports the councilman got into an argument with two emts near a beach back in may. police haven't released any reports about the incidents. in lehigh county, the program to. help inmates with addiction wants released. they will be eligible for a drug

to be another busy weekend on the shore but we have a threat of some storms during the weekend. >> tammie souza is going to tell us the timing of the storm. how does it look? >> it's going to disrupt your saturday. perhaps not sunday, but let's look at some temperatures right now. i love the people watching along the beaches. feels like 91. we're still feeling like the heat index. mount pocono at 80. that's probably been the most comfortable spot during the heat wave. feels like 99. look at that dew point. it's really soupy for all of you. in philadelphia, 93 and feels like 96. dew point is 6. so it's really moist out there. when you have a little disturbance come through, it can trigger some big storms. here is that slight risk.

that encompasses the entire area. we could see the storms tomorrow. this lingers into sunday. so what is it that a slight risk has. it is generally not going to be as bad as the upper levels. but we will see the possibility of severe storms. they will be short lived. not widespread. we could see one or two isolated tornadoes. you can never rule it out. some activity by atlantic city and ship pot. we're watching further to the west out of wisconsin and coming out of the northern plains.

it will move across south jersey. then we get another one later in the morning towards dover and delaware. the forecast models are biting on to strong storms coming through at 9:00 moving through pottstown and moving out of the area at 5:00 in the morning. and then clearing out. we could see something else moving in on sunday. but a at this point, things look fairly quiet out there. 92 in south philadelphia. 89 in phoenixville. and harrington is going to be 93 with a feels like that's going on to upwards of right around 101 degrees. the heat wave finally goes away. we are going to drop into the 80s by monday. we have a chance of a shower or
