climbing down a ladder. right now we don't know how he is linked to the stand off. we'll continue to monitor this and stay with us for the latest details on this news. military ban. president trump took to twitter a short time ago saying transgender people will not be allowed to serve in any part of the armed services. we have details now. >> this decision comes to after the president says he was briefed by generals and says the ban would be in any capacity. the president said our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory. he did not say what what happen to those already in the

military. more than 250 are already in the military. according to defense officials the pentagon refused to release any data on the number of troops currently serving. as many as 2,500 to 7,000 are active duty military. the pentagon said it will work closely about the new information provided by the commander in chief. two people were inside this home when it suddenly collapsed and they are lucky to be alive thanks to a family pet. tell us how this happened. >> reporter: a couple of things just happened and are happening right now. they were able to locate that family pet.

now they they have you see that thousand being demolished. two people and their cat lived here. this is where they were sleeping. that's the only part that was still sleeping. the cat alerted the owners to a collapse they did not see coming. at around 4:30 a few friends coming home witnessed something and did something incredible. >> as soon as we pulled up to the block we heard crackling. >> it was a big crash. we heard a lady screaming. >> they ran towards the screaming. >> this was a lady dangling. >> the woman had been sleeping and when she left her bedroom to

check it out the floor beneath her gave way. go she was stuck between the banister and the wall. we climbed up the wall and pulled her and i got her boyfriend or husband out. >> the man had also been sleeping on a downstairs cat. >> the cat was acting funny. >> it's strange but true. the couple's cat was acting strange. so strange that when the man that lived here got up to see what was going on moments later is when firefighters say the wall collapsed. a second collapse happened hours after the first. no one including the cat was hurt. they determined the thing had to come down. we know to homeowners did not have insurance but they do have

these will only peak near 80 degrees. that's about it for today. we should be at 87 in philadelphia this time of year. radar and satellite, looking at pretty much the lehigh valley. the unfortunate thing is off to the west they have more sunshine than us. we are looking at a few showers that are starting to build near kent county. let's take it a real wide view. these are nothing compared to what we see way to our west. this is chugging along our way. we are going to see heavier storms return to the forecast. here is hour by hour. we continue into the afternoon hours. we are seeing thins out of the clouds but cloudy through 5:00

p.m. you can see the spots of green. sprinkles in the afternoon but nothing to write home about. we don't have any thunderstorms or severe weather. none of that for today. into the evening clouds may thin a little bit more. let's talk high temperatures. as we go through today average about 79 for high. 83 on thursday, 79 on friday, 77 on saturday. even sunday the sun does finally return. it is 84 degrees. if you did not like the 90s of last week what a difference a week makes now in the 70s and 80s. let's talk about the storms. by 5:00 showers and spotty showers. it continues through the nighttime hours. here is 2:00 a.m. it is a little more widespread. by friday afternoon more of a steady to heavy rain spreading across much of the board. it will linger into saturday. we'll talk about the weekend forecast coming up in the next

police say the jeep wrangler is an easy target because the hood can be opened from the outside. there are hood looks to protect your vehicle. and police in montgomery county look for the man who stole money from a donation box. they removed the donation box and took the money out of it. if you can identify this man you're asked to call police. a father and son are in the hospital after both were hurt during an argument that involved a gun and sword in montgomery county. the father shot his son multiple times. these photos show officers taking away guns from the house. the son was taken to the hospital in critical condition. the dad is expected to be okay. investigators are trying to figure out how this fight started.
