ah. ♪nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea!♪ run down by justin bieber, the late night incident that comes days after the beibs cancelled his world tour. right now at 11:00 philadelphia police fire a shot at a carjacking suspect. it is in the northeast early this morning. good morning. >> police say it is fortunate no one was hurt in this violent encounter. police just released new

information. rosemary connor is live. >> reporter: this all started with two carjackings. it ended with philadelphia police nabbing two suspects. while as you mentioned nobody was hurt here an officer did fire off one round from his gun. this all played out. it happened in the northeast. philadelphia police tell us they first tracked down one of our suspects. an officer had the description from a carjacking that was on bustleton avenue. two men robbed a security guard there. they showed up in a stolen hyundai suv. one of the suspects stayed in the hyundai and took off after robbing the guard. the other stole the security gar guard's camry. the officer spotted the camry and the suspect driving the car got out, pointed his gun and that's when the officer fired off a round.

>> the officer certainly has a right and duty to defend himself and anyone else present in these type of exchanges or encounters. given the circumstances it would tend to give rise where you would be able to defend yourself. >> reporter: nobody injured here. after the suspect pointed his gun and the officer fired that suspect ran in and other officers respond today the area. they were able to take him into custody. as for the second suspect in the stolen hyundai suv, officers tell us they found him in the area hiding with the car parked ton street. i'm rosemary connors. >> thank you. fire killed a man early this morning. flames and smoke were pouring from this home. fire fighters found the 69-year-old victim. it appears the fire started in

the back bedroom. firefighters say i they had trouble putting out the flames and getting to the victim. >> the hording conditions in the house became difficult to get him out of the house. they were able to do so. unfortunately it was determined shortly after he was removed from the residence that he had passed. >> the victim's identity isn't known. the home next door was also damaged. we will have more information about the deadly fire coming up at 11:30. clouds are hanging around and temperatures are warming up. here is a live look at center city philadelphia. bill is here now with our forecast. >> clouds are sticking around. we have seen some breaks of sunshine. a little bit warmer in new jersey. it is 76 in the lehigh valley. 77 in philadelphia.

clouds will be around through the day. even a chance we'll see showers and thunderstorms pop up this afternoon. if they pop up they could be strong thunderstorms, even potential for severe weather later today. i don't think it will be widespread today. what we will see is a warm up into the 80s. it is a little bit warmer than yesterday and a bit muggier. some breaks of sunshine in new jersey. look at this. the first showers are now popping up to the north of the lehigh valley. there is a possibility of more of that later today. then the main event is tomorrow. look at the heavy downpours moving through missouri. these are flood warnings that are popping up. this is the system that could potentially bring us flooding tomorrow. we have a first alert in effect for storms and flooding for all neighborhoods starting tomorrow morning. we'll see showers and thunderstorms to start with through noon saturday. heavier rainfall later on friday and into saturday with severe storms could lead to flooding in

that sent two teenagers to the hospital. we were over north madison street. authorities tell us a 16-year-old boy and 18-year-old girl are in stable condition. so far no arrests. police take custody into custody after teens were seen throwing rocks and putting drivers in danger. there was a baby inside. no one was hurt. police took away a person in handcuffs seen here. they say they are interviewing them. earlier police said teenagers were throwing rocks at cars at spring garden street. it could have been much worse. >> you shouldn't be doing that kind of thing. you get caught, get hurt. >> i don't want that to happen to anyone. >> authorities have not said what charges may be filed in this case. if you were driving last flight

it is 79 in cape may point. there are some pockets of sunshine. there's a steady breeze coming on shore from the ocean. a nice ocean breeze. it will keep them from getting much warmer than they are right now. farther inland it is coming up from the south. those are the winds that warm things up. we'll be warmer today. it is bringing in more humidity too. it will feed into a few scattered showers. temperatures will peak in the 80s today and drop into the 70s. tomorrow it will be a cooler one as rain is likely. no rain to show you just yet in our area. the first showers are passing to the north. there are some breaks of sunshine. the main event for us is coming with this. this is what's already produced flooding into kansas and

missouri. it looks like it is going to wrong direction. no. it will start its path that shift to the east and low pressure will fire up going into later tomorrow. first thing in the morning there's a chance we'll see showers and possibly even a thunderstorm. a possibility of a strong thunderstorm to start with. the heavier rain that could lead to flooding is likely going to hold off until afternoon for tomorrow. 11:00 tomorrow morning mostly cloudy skies. the system starts to move into the area. a few spotty showers into southeastern pennsylvania. here is your potential for heavy rainfall coming tomorrow afternoon into techbihe evening hours. some of it reaching to the north. the farther north you go the less likely you'll see the strong heavy downpours and less likely to see flooding rain. to the south and into philadelphia the heavy rainfall will be accumulating. we'll look for 2 to 3 inches and

sbooec sbooec even into saturday morning. we issued storms and flooding from 7:00 tomorrow morning when we could see strong storms to later in the afternoon and evening hours and into saturday morning ending at noon on saturday. that's when we'll we'll have heavier downpours. severe storms are possible. heavy rain at times is likely and flooding is a strong possibility as rising rivers and creeks. that's what we'll be dealing with as we go into the weekend. during if weekend we'll see improving conditions. after that heavy rain comes to an end on saturday especially likely in the lehigh valley. we'll warm into the 80s for most spots. humidity will be coming down nicely on sunday. next week we are talking a heat wave. a look at that coming up in the next half hour. >> all right. we'll see you then. back to school shopping
