more. we understand a public information person is supposed to come our kwa to update us on the situation. what we can tell you is 12 firefighters hurt here in westchester. smoke inhalation. one of them more serious were hearing cardiac arrest. my coworker is around here. some people said they might have smelled gas. people on the phone with us said they smelled gas in the air. so we're still getting details. in terms of what actually happening, it does not seem to be an urgent situation where they are fighting some sort of fire. but clearly there's a situation serious enough they have told everybody to get out of the store and clear out of this area. now to more breaking news. this time in delaware county

app. just search north korea. new at 6:00, a group of bikers mini van, but it was not racial. we told you on monday the family was driving home from kennedy airport when the motorcycles swarled them. the bikers smashed the van windows and punched a driver in the face. police first said the attack was racially motivate d, but tonight they told us they no longer think that's the case. the community in our area is asking for help solving the murders of a south jersey mother and her son. back in march a woman and her 6-year-old son were found stabbed to death in their apartment. so far police have not made an arrest. now the indian cultural center has posted information about the crime on its facebook page asking anyone with information to come forward. tense moments in delaware for neighbors stuck in it their homes.

viewers told us they saw troopers aiming their guns at windows. delaware state police tell nbc 10 they were investigatoring a series of stolen vehicles in stanton. troopers spoke inside a home on stanton rod. neighbors tell us they found one person taken into custody and troopers gave the neighborhood the all clear. take a look at what margate residents have to go through to get to the beach. see all of the ponding there? it's from rain and storm water that did not drain properly. residents say it's because of the dune project. today they traveled to federal court to support margate's decision. the dunes aren't needed there. the army corps of engineers is fighting to lift a ban to allow them to continue to build dunes. the state mandated federal project is the result of the sandy relief act. it was forced on them by governor christie. your official eagles station is counting down the hours until the birds get back to football.

a new punch line deal to allow drilling to continue on a project that's causing controversy in several local counties. they are reevaluating high risk sites where its drilling for the pipeline. they agreed to send drilling plans to homeowners who have private wells near the drilling areas. they are testing to make sure it's safe. state officials are now reviewing the deal. once completed, the pipeline would carry natural gas from western pa to delaware county. you can read much more about the concern over the project right now on the nbc 10 app. up next at 6:00, revival for the crocodile. it's bringing hope and sadness tonight. we have beautiful weather today. but the rain is going to hit us again. our most accurate forecast

many of the firefighters suffered from carbon monoxide. firefighters went to the 200 block of west street for an electrical fire. the town is asking anyone in the 100 and 200 block of west gay street and market street to evacuate until further notice. the fire department plans to go door to door to check carbon monoxide levels in the building. let's go live to tim furlong, who is at that scene for us. you have new information. >> they are going to have an update for a press briefing and rosemary connors is going to go to that. i'm going to stay a at the scene where it's ab active scene. there's no foir to speak of. it's really the main drag through westchester. we're hearing it was an electrical fire underground. a bunch of firefighters went to handle it. they were overcome by carbon monoxide. the general manager of the skateboard shop back here behind the camera, the general manager just told rosemary connors he

went over there and he saw firefighters bringing one of their colleagues out of a manhole performing cpr. we heard one of the 12 injured firefighters had cardiac arrest. but the general manager told us that they actually saw them doing compression, but he sat up and appeared he was okay. so we're going to keep you posted on that. in the meantime in terms of what this means, all these streets have restaurants on them. this is a bustling area. there's a music store over there. all the lessons have been c cancelled. everyone was told if you're outside eating and having fun at one of the bars, you need to get back inside one of the stores. then they went door to door saying you need to get out of here. i saw we'll keep you posted as it unfolds here at west gay street. certainly an interesting night here. we're following even more

breaking news. sky force 10 is live in northeast philadelphia. police say they were chasing a car on the roosevelt boulevard. someone had inside that car had a high-powered rifle. the suspect ran into the woods. police have that area surrounded. they are looking for the suspects. we have a crew on the way to the scene. we'll bring you new information as soon as we get it. to this now, new life for the old crocodile rock. the music venue home to many music fans will be torn down. it's getting replaced by a new building to feature apartments, offices and stores. steven fisher showed us why carrying down this old building is bittersweet. >> reporter: the crocodile rock cafe has a lot of history behind it and people have fond memories of this place. it doesn't look like much now, but it will be bittersweet to

hurricane sandy for the rest of the week. >> if you didn't get a chance to get outside and enjoy today, you got one more chance. because tomorrow is going to be very much like today. 84 degrees right now. we got up to 86 today. the sunshine continues. we have blue skies across much of the area. we have a nice sea breeze at the jersey shore. and that's keeping temperatures moderate. 80 in ventor. 78 in ocean city. 78 in cape may point. eninland it's not especially warm. the high temperature, 86 today. 86 tomorrow. i think the southeast wind may keep the temperature down a bit on friday. those clouds offshore are dwoing to stay offshore and the next area of showers is barely into minnesota. so that's going to take awhile to get here. and our futurecast hour by hour

showing pretty much clear during the day tomorrow. look at the winds turn into the southeast as we go into friday morning. there's the east wind and that means more clouds. and keeps the temperature down a little bit. and this chance of showers mainly friday night ask then into saturday. saturday we may have a problem. especially in the morning hours. we got the winds. this computer model showing an area of extremely heavy rain. but not all day. we can still see plenty of rain around toward midday and then things taper off a little bit in the afternoon setting us up for a little better weather on sunday. it's picture perfect. the lows tonight in some places down below 60 degrees. and for the weekend, we have the showers coming in generally friday night and especially saturday morning. sunday is it's just a chance of a couple leftover showers.

most of the weekend is looking okay. you have heard that sound a lot. a day full of breaking news. two police officers were sent to the hospital after someone threw a molotov cocktail on them. that triggered a standoff. brandon hudson is arriving on the scene. what do you know about this so far? >> reporter: the guy who threw the molotov cocktail is in jail, but there's a large police presence out here. the street is shut down. you can see some officers behind us. if you go a little further down the street, you can see police tape. that's where we believe the incident happened. we can go to sky force 10 and show you video we got an hour ago. you can see what we know at this moment is someone was being served a warrant. the two guys had a molotov cocktail thrown at them. they were burned in the arm. police after about an hour
