we are tracking showers throughout our area today. one of the places that could see thunderstorms is the jersey shore. a live look at cape may. take a look at radar. you can see the heaviest rain moving through right there. krystal klei is here with your most accurate forecast to talk about the hours to come. >> yeah. the worst part is most of the yellows are moving this way. they haven't made it here yet. we may see pockets of heavier rain.

you'll see that a good portion of oufr viewing area is getting light showers and pockets of heavier rain down south. philly seeing a little break. look what's crossing through d.c. and baltimore. it actually does have a few thunderstorms embedded in it. we do have some of our heaviest pockets of rain and then this will likely move into cape may county as it continues to track along to the northeast. my model isn't working very well. i wanted to pick it up and show you the timing of when it starts to clear. there is storm potential in the southern half of the viewing area. from 2:00 to 4:30 still scattered storms possible along the i-95 corridor. it may become a bit of an issue. from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. look how quickly things start to thin out. getting rid of almost all of the rain. tomorrow sunshine returns to the

dozen shelters is in montgomery county. summer is very active today. how is summer? >> good. summer is good. sumer wa summer wants to play. >> we are really trying to inform and educate potential pet yoerns about what to do and about the difference between shelters in our area. >> okay. the difference is rescues are act hu actually nonkill. if the dogs are there they are on the youthization list. we try to pull them so we can save them. we actually have a kennel so if we don't have enough fosters we have space to keep them in our

kennels if needed. it is also a border kennel as well. we have several runs that are for the rescue but the others are boarding kennels. so we tend to have a lot of dogs that are unable to go into foster for whatever reason. a lot of times they are not dog friendly. we want to find fosters or families that just are looking to keep one dog. so we have a lot of those that are very adoptable dogs. and some are here and we rescue a lot of moms and babies from high kill shelters in the south. so summer here was one of our moms. she came up in october. she had 11 babies with her when she came up. >> now she is nice and calm. >> now she is like let me be on tv. >> we had 11 of her puppiepuppi. she is the only one left.

all of her puppies are doing great. we are looking for a home for her as well as the other moms. we also accept owner surrenders. they are safe with us. >> i know we want to get as many dogs and cats adopted as we can. you're also looking for volunteers. >> always. we always need volunteers. we need help with transport, with the events. we go to all of the big pet stores and display our dogs and puppies there. people come in. we don't do on-site adoptions. we always do an online adoption application and then we would look into their background. >> got it. >> and approve them to adopt. we also have the availability of foster to adopt for our adults as well which is a great omptio.

rainfall rate about .80 an hour. a good rain moving through. it is moving fairly quickly. if we get enough of this into the afternoon and evening hours some localized areas may see low lying roads, things like that. heavy rain popping in and next up heavy rain is likely here over about the next hour. farther south this is over parts of kent county and you can see the steady rain moves on in. cumberland getting a heavy rainfall. that's a deep red you see in this corner. it is starting to spread into atlantic county. it is the heaviest as they move along to the northeast. it is doing a nice job of showing us where it is and where it will continue to be in the afternoon. scattered showers and thunderstorms will last as we go later in the day. we go to 4:30.
