of confederate leader robert e. lee. here at home new demonstrations aimed to e denounce hate and bigotry. a religious group lined the lobbyist city hall to speak out against what they call domestic terrorism. the group said they will not look back to the, quote, old days when bigotry were tolerated, encouraged and excessive. >> in the lehigh valley, a petition is growing to take away a degree. they were asked to rescind the degree. the petition kroits the response among other things. pennsylvania lawmakers are consideration a move to cob dem white supremacists. a state senator introduced a resolution to do just that and wants all senators to co-sign it. stay tuned for "nbc nightly news" with lester holt right after this newscast. they are track iing the fallout

internet for a house moments before her death. long is being held with no bail until his trial. four robbery suspects are in custody after a chase that ended in this crash in delaware. they were want ed off, police went right after them following them on busy route 13. the chase ended when the car crashed in wilmington. all four men ran from the scene, but officers eventually caught up with them. up next new at 6:00, a jogger sexually assaulted now fellow runners wants justice. their message, tonight. and later improvements needed. carson wentz telling us what he needs to see during tomorrow's eagles and bills game.

was sexual ly assaulted. shefs running at norristown park. that's where denise nakano is joining us live. runners want to just stop the violence. >> reporter: and take a look at the crowd behind me. they are here to stop the violence. they'll be here to support victims of all crimes. this event came about because of the ago tack on the jogger and they are here to reclaim the park. a solidarity run to support crime victims just minutes from stepping off. >> i hope we can come together and rally as a community today. >> reporter: the event comes a little more than two weeks after a 19-year-old jogger was attacked at gunpoint at norristown park. the place runners, walkers and community members have gathered to take a stand against violence and stand up for victims of all crimes. >> the fact that it was a stranger, a random act of violence is very disheartening and scary and uncomfortable. >> reporter: police are still looking for the man who sexual assaulted the jogger earlier

this month. sky force 10 over the scene where detectives scoured the for evidence. >> i am concerned about her, just what she went through. >> reporter: kim farmer no longer walks alone after the attack on a young jogger. she brings her 16-year-old son with her. solidarity run organizers have teamed up with victim services center of montgomery county, which offers services to crime victims and families. they utilize this park for events and believe there's no better time to take a stand than now. >> what's important for society and our community to know is that we need to believe and support survivors. many don't feel like they can come forward and talk about this and get the services that they deserve. >> there's about 100 walkers and joggers out here so far. the event begins in 15 minutes and lasts thl 7:30.

police are looking for the attacker and there's a reward for information in the case. live in norristown, denise nakano, nbc 10 news. turning now to our first alert weather. hello, summer. heat and humidity are back after a stretch of cooler days. you're looking live at boat house row. and in center city, soak it in while you can before the season changes. no complaints at all at the beach. a live look at cape may. it's in the low 80s there today. let's get to glenn "hurricane" schwartz with a closer look. >> we'll have another day tomorrow much like today except for the dense fog in the morning. we're going to see a whole lot of that. we have dry weather, it's been dry all day. all across the area for the most part, the sunniest award goes to the lehigh valley. we're at 84 degrees right now.

the airport is at 8. all at 87 kbres. only 80 degrees right now. some clouds coming down blocking the sun a little bit in chestnut hill. no showers associated with that. those clouds are breaking up, as you can right there. going back to the west, there's some moisture building up. west virginia, kentucky, some of that it headed in this direction. that gives us kind of a dilemma for it the eagles game tomorrow. because we are going to be dry in the morning and early amp, but there is moisture that's going to be advancing. it's going to be warm. it's going to be humid. and there is a chance of a couple showers in the area as the game starts. but the better chance of rain is at the end of the game. maybe on your way home, as you

can see on this map. and then on friday, it gets even wetter. look at that. showers and thunderstorms and potentially more than an inch of rain in parts of the area. it doesn't clear out until saturday morning. that's good timing. sets us up for a pretty good weekend. overall with the eagles game, it's on a partly cloudy side. it's warm and kind of humid for football. just a chance of the thunderstorms. are there chances for thunderstorms flocking us for the solar eclipse? i don't think so. i think we're in pretty good shape. 86 degrees, mostly sunny. . remember the max eclipse is about a quarter to 3:00. temperature might drop a couple degrees as that happen weekend, the rainy day, the stormy day. and the unbelievably humid day.

jeffrey tomorrow night. first e preseason game at home. and you would think that carson wentz was perfect in the first game in green bay last thursday. he was 4 for 4 with a perfect quarterback rating. but carson says he wasn't perfect. there's things to work on. what do you want to e see in game two? >> there's some sloppy plays. there's some sloppy things we have to clean up. and the biggest thing i have been preaching is consistency myself and as a team. we can't have negative plays and then a a big lay. we have to stay ahead of the change and just be sharp with a little thing. >> the newest eagle cornerback ronald darby should make his day tomorrow night. he was thrown in as a starting quarterback. he hopes to make a good first impression against a team that traded him to the eagles. >> i still got a lot more to learn. each day i'm learning more and from the save safeties.

a live look at the ben lin parkway. a a warm night out there tonight. that's going to continue. >> tomorrow is going to be just about as warm as today. we have 89. tomorrow close to that. the humidity is still pretty high tomorrow. then it really gets hot on friday. even though the temperature may be a little bitter because of all the rain and thunderstorms. it's going to feel like florida humidity then. that set us up for a nice weekend, but it's hot all the way through the middle of next week. hotter than normal. we also were maybe having good timing with the eclipse on monday coming before the next round of storms moves this. because overall, still a wet pattern. >> no clouds on monday.
