ted greenberg was first to report the scandal. he joins us live. you spoke with the man b who pleaded guilty. what does he have to say? >> no comment. that farm spharmaceutical rep i of two men who pleaded guilty to federal charge here's today. >> 42-year-old pharmaceutical sales rep admitting in federal court in camden today to being a ring leader in a $28 million health insurance fraud scheme involving public employees and pricey compound prescription drugs. they were the first to plead guilty with the probe that nbc 10 was first to report on in july. focusing on municipal work in margate and atlantic city.

>> a key player that defrauded public health benefits programs using a network of recruiters, firefighters, police officers, teachers, doctors and others in 2015 and '16 they had medically unnecessary prescriptions fill ed including cream. authorities say those involved received kickbacks and reward money. he admitted to getting more than $11 million from the scheme. he has to forfeit that money, pay restitution of more than $28 million and faces up to ten years in prison when he's sentenced in december. the 43-year-old, a recruiter in all this, also pleading guilty here. there's apparently much more to come. additional plea hearings are scheduled for tomorrow.

an emotional morning in court as the family of a teen killed in a road rage incident came face to face with the man charged in her death. he was charged with shooting and killing an 18-year-old at the end of june. police say the pair jockeyed for position. he waived his preliminary hearing sending the case to the court of common pleas. philadelphia police tell us this man pulled a razor-like knife on a 7-eleven employee in center city. an employee saw him putting several red bull drinks in his backpack. >> a bucks county catholic

schoolteacher convicted of child rape is out of prison a decade. a judge threw out the conviction. there were questions about the accuser's truthfulness. they convicted three other church officials. in delaware tonight a woman is suing after being critically hurt at a pumpkin-launching contest. she was permanently injured when an air canon exploded. she's filed a federal lawsuit against the event organizers and the state. the organize have not returned our request for comment. it features canons that fire pumpkins thousands of feet through the air. athletes participating in a triathlon in delaware this weekend can forget about the swimming portion of the competition. officials say algae in the reservoir is growing at high levels and not safe for anybody to go in the water. as a result the top of delaware triathlon will include a 14-mile bike ride and end with another 2.5-mile run.

direction. they are well south of wilmington. they really have to travel pretty far north to get up anywhere near there. look at this line of thunderstorms coming through ohio. that's part of the system that's going to be affecting us as we go through the day tomorrow. here we are at 11:00 tonight. it's generally dry. and toward daybreak we could see some showers and a thunderstorm. it's just a first batch. the humidity increasing as we go through the evening. and the feels like temperature at game time around 86 degrees.

that breaking news, the terror attack in barcelona, spain. 13 people are dead, more than 100 others hurt after a terrorist plowed a van through a crowded plaza there. the attack happened in the heart of that city. it's a place that's popular with tourists. as we said, 13 are dead. authorities expect the number of deaths to rise. two suspects are in custody. they are being treated as terrorists. it's not clear if authorities are looking for any other suspects at this point. shower that would be brief. we're not even expecting that. so 83 degrees at kickoff time. temperature going down in the upper 70s. that's something you're going to be noticing too. and that's going to set us up for really stormy weather tomorrow. we'll get into the timing on that coming up with the rest of the forecast in a few minutes. thousand here's a look at some of the stories making headlines county by county across the region today. in camden county, police are locking for three men after a deadly shooting on master street. this is surveillance footage of the man they are looking for. two men were found shot in the house. one man died. these men were seen running from the scene. in burlington county, sky force 10 over a fire at a trucking company. you see smoke coming from the building on route 130. that fire spread to the building. fortunately no one was hurt.

boarded up and abandoned homes for camden neighborhoods. the police department is trying to crack down on the problems. they have a message for neighbors. they want you to call police if you see anybody sneaking into a boarded up build iing. >> students have healthy eating all figured out. students eat healthier than any other college in the country. ryder university in new jersey and thomas jefferson university in philadelphia also came in the top 20 for healthy eating. pitbulls are sometimes overlooked as pets. even adoptions. they hope that's not the case this weekend as nbc 10 hopes to clear the shelters.

all new at 5:00, stranded in their car at the center of this drawbridge opening with nowhere to turn. the south jersey family on vacation at the shore found themselves hovering 65 feet above the bay as that drawbridge opened. they are speaking out tonight in the first tv interview since the august 1st ordeal. it happened as they droe over the middle to ro fair bridge.

south jersey reporter cydney long sat down with the family and tried to get answers as to how this could happen. >> they were living for a wild night out. but moments after pay iing the toll on the middle to ro fair bridge. >> i said to my husband, i think the bridge might be opening. >> it was. but they couldn't feel it. the drop to the bay is 65 feet. it's a single l suspension opening and they were at the edge. >> i don't know why. i don't know what made e me do it. it was an immediate reaction. >> witnesses thought they did plunge. >> he jumped out of his car and started screaming. instead the car nose dived.
