these flower pots that you see across the street to prevent those type of vehicle attacks. you can see the dinner on block party that was going on behind us at franklin square. it's the same buses that dropped the people off here that protected them. now they proceeded, i will say some people got dropped off here at franklin square. europe had its fair share of attacks. bigger american cities disguise their barricades to prevent those kind of attacks.

towards cape may as the line of thunderstorms moves on shore. tropical downpours, frequent lightning and strong gusty winds. it will be a lot of rain. it will be localized flooding with some of these downpours. you can see on the radar we have thunderstorms already in pennsylvania. there's mplenty more back to th west. as we go through the rest of the night we may see some showers or remnants of those storms in central pennsylvania before daybreak. much of the morning is on the drier side. clouds will increase. it's going to be incredibly humid during the day tomorrow. the feels like temperatures going up into the upper 90s to near 100 degrees. you can see the threat of thunderstorms across much of the area for much of the day. look at dedelaware. feels like temperature over 100 degrees.

anthem. he promised to kocontinue the protest from last season. he and his tell me mate chris long criticized the president this week for his response to the violence in charlottesville. long did not hold up his fist during tonight's anthem but did put his arm an jenkins. president trump did not address charlottesville directly today but he did reignite the debate over confederate statues and memories. he wrote removing them was foolish and an attack on america's history and culture. more cities around the country are tackling this debate. white supremacists groups marched around the statue of robert e. lee and protested plans to move it elsewhere. several groups are calling for the removal of the frank rizo statue. those against the statue say the former mayor and police chief

the family of a teenager shot and killed in a road rage confrontation came face-to-face with the man. investigators say the two played o high speed cat and mouse game as they merged into the same lane on route 100. today 50 of roberson's family and friends showed up. there were only 12 seats. >> never made contact. took our daughter's life. >> we lost a good soul. >> today he waived his preliminary hearing. he's due back in court next week. a follow up to a story we broke here on nbc 10 today. two men pleaded guilty to defrauding new jersey and health insurers out of $25 million. authorities say they used a network of recruiters, doctors and state and local employees to

get reimbursed for phony and unneeded prescriptions. pharmaceutical representative pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit health care fraud. he admitted to fwgetting more tn $11 million. if you see someone going into an abandoned building in camden police want you to call them. there's about 1500 empty buildings in the city. boarded up windows and doors aren't keeping people out. the properties are magnet for crimes and safety hazards rp. maybe you crossed a drawbridge before but imagine crossing one when the road beneath you starts to rise. that's what's happened to family vacationing at the shore. they were traveling on the middle thoroughfare fridge when the bridge started to open. the family feared their car would fall backwards or worse into the water below. >> i said to my husband, i think the bridge might be opening.

it's an example of what their days were like. they were assigned a treat. they set up games and act as block supervisorsupervisors. learning that lead and create meaningful relationships. back to our weather. it's about to feel like florida. dangerous storm will be moving in. that's why we're assuring the first alert. glen has a look at what's coming our way. >> i think tomorrow will be the most uncomfortable day that we've had this summer, at least in the form of humidity. the flags are showing it. the southeast wind are just pushing that florida like air up here. that's going to help set up the stage for the storms. first alert for the strong storms for the entire area starting early afternoon in the lee high valley and ending friday evening down toward the shore. tropical downpours could be localized brief flooding.

we have somt showers and thunderstorms in central pennsylvania already. more back to the west. it's a pretty vigorous system. you can see the spin in the upper atmosphere. that's proof that it's a pretty strong system. as we go into the day tomorrow, we're starting off pretty quiet. it may be around and very humid. then any sunshine is going to help this line of thunderstorms intensify. there's 2:00 right by the lee high valley. as we go to 4:00, 4:30 it's come into northern and western suburbs. by 5:00 to 6:00 into the philadelphia area. could get pretty nasty here. gusty winds with this. as we go through tomorrow evening, this computer model is just crushing areas of southern

delaware and jersey shore. that would be enough to cause flooding in those areas. they may get hit the hardest out of this. as we go through the night and into saturday morning it's out of here. feels like temperature in the morning not too terrible. by 4:00 in the afternoon computer models are showing some places feeling like over 100 degrees. we haven't seen numbers like that in a while. that's just the one day. the humidity will be down somewhat on saturday and sunday. still kind of hot. kind of humid but it's august. at least the showers and thunderstorms from tomorrow are not in the forecast for the next couple of days. the shore is going to be seeing some pretty good weather too. still looking pretty good for the eclipse.
