now let's get to the forecast with erika martin. is rain a threat to hit the region? >> here's the deal. we do have some clouds and scattered showers flirting with our viewing area. i'm going to time that out for you. neighborhoods right now are quiet. we're seeing just a few clouds to the west of lehigh valley. everything here is high and dry and mostly clear. here is our hour by hour forecast. tomorrow through 1:30 p.m., we see clouds develop across our viewing area, especially likely for the p.a. superbs and the lehigh valley. i don't think this is going to be an issue. as we get this going and pause this again by about 3:00 p.m., we are seeing some greens on the screen, some light showers, but mainly breaks in the clouds and that's really my big concern. that's what i'm really watching. the good news is mother nature

is going to be really kind. i don't see any issues for solar eclipse, but follow us on nbc philadelphia for more updates. a 7-eleven store clerk is being treated for stab wounds after he was attacked by a man with a knife. this man walked into the store and asked for a pack of cigarettes just after 6:00 this morning. while the clerk was putting them in a bag, the man grabbed a knife from his pants and jumped on the counter. police say he stabbed the clerk several times. the clerk was able to pull a man on to the floor and the man dropped the knife and took off. the clerk is in the hospital in stable condition. the white house says it will announce a new policy on afghanistan and south asia tomorrow night. president donald trump is scheduled to address the nation about a path forward on the issue from ft. myer in arlington, virginia. a new poll finds president trump's approval rating is below

40% in three states key to his election. three polls were conducted in michigan, wisconsin, and pennsylvania this past week. in pennsylvania, 35% approve, 54% disapprove. and when asked if president trump's conduct made them proud or embarrassed, 63% of those polled in pennsylvania say they've been embarrassed. now to the latest on the terror investigation in barcelona. tonight, police are ramping up efforts to find the man they say was behind the wheel. 13 people were killed and dozens injured. they have set up roadblocks throughout spain. officials there say they believe he may have fled to neighboring france. meantime, authorities say a dozen suspects linked to the deadly attack have either been killed or detained. this morning, a catholic mass was held for the victims oh of the terror attacks. iris delgado from telemundo 62

city tomorrow. one of the groups is the philly coalition for real justice. the group says it wants to bring increased awareness of his white supremacist legacy in philadelphia. the second rally says it wants to denounce hatred and bigotry brought on by the people who want the rizzo statue removed. both rallies are slated for 4:00 in the afternoon. police are looking for a man dressed in women's clothing who they say tried to abduct a boy in south philadelphia. it happened at 1:00 this afternoon at 24th street and schneider avenue. a man wearing a dress and a wig drove up to the 13-year-old boy and told him to get in his car. the man was driving a black ford explorer. a man accused of shooting at a parked car in newark is in custody. 27-year-old timothy shul allegedly shot at an unoccupied car several times and took off.

he ended up crashing his car and calling a family member to pick him up. he was arrested after he returned to the scene. a missouri lawmaker is on the hotseat tonight. why the state senator is facing calls for her resignation, and her apology to the president. and governor chris christie is running out of time to find a new gig. we'll tell you one profession he says he will not be taking up. and i have your most accurate solar eclipse forecast. i'll see you in just a bit.

through the crowd to arrest them. things ended with the arrest of seven people. a missouri state lawmaker has apologized for a facebook post where she hoped for president trump's death. missouri state senator maria chappell nadal said, i hope trump is assassinated. she was quickly condemned by fellow democrats and republicans. >> president trump, i apologize to you and your family. i also apologize to all of the people in missouri, and i also apologize to my colleagues. >> her post was a response to an earlier statement she made about her frustration with president trump. you can officially rule out sports talkradio host as a gubernatorial job for chris christie. he announced he will not seek a job as a new york sports talk host. he had been filling in for one

show earlier this year, and it was reported that he was in line host. chris christie's run as new jersey governor will end in january. in germantown, the fashion show was about so much more than just clothes. fashion isn't the only passion of the designer. she's also a social worker at the healing hurt people program. it's run through drexel university and helps young people who have been involved in violence. tonight's show served as a fund-raiser for the healing hurt program. and that jackpot just keeps on growing. anticipation is building for wednesday's powerball drawing. the jackpot stands at an estimated $650 million. and it's growing. it wasn't all bad news last night, however. there were some winners in pennsylvania and new jersey. one ticket in each state, the lottery hasn't said where the

in an exclusive "nbc 10 news" interview, attorney general jeff sessions talks about why the crackdown is critical, but not everyone is convinced. nbc's pete williams reports. >> reporter: when deputy kueva patrols, he doesn't ask anyone if he's here illegally. >> you build trust. when you have trust, then you have people calling in and reporting things. >> reporter: like dozens of other sanctuary cities, seattle has the same policy. >> that's our goal, reducing crime. we could care less if somebody is here legally or illegally. >> reporter: even people in jail, putting the city and county at odds with the trump administration. in an exclusive nbc news interview, attorney general jeff sessions says he'll cut off federal anti-crime grants to cities and counties that fail to give the federal government 48 hours notice before illegal

immigrants are released from their jail sentences so they can be deported. >> they should be removed from those communities. it will make them safer. i don't think you have any objection overall from the immigrant community to remove dangerous criminals from america. >> reporter: he cites the case of juan sanchez, accused of killing a san francisco woman after he was released from a local jail and sergio martinez, accused of brutally attacking a 65-year-old woman released from a portland jail with no federal notice. sessions praises miami for dropping its sanctuary policy and bitterly condemned chicago, saying its refusal to help enforce immigration laws says it's not serious about lowering the city's murder rate. seattle and chicago are now suing over is sanctuary issue, joining other cities who say they know best how to fight crime. >> that was pete williams reporting. philadelphia is considered one of the most high profile sanctuary cities in the country.

in april, attorney general sessions canceled a planned trip here. no reason was given. a man is in the hospital after he was shot twice by philadelphia police last night just after 11:00. two officers on bikes were on north alder street in ort philadelphia. they saw a man standing on the sidewalk with a gun. police chased him down an alley when he pointed the gun at them. > police were on this street when they rescued a man wanted. they watched him run into a home and went after him. he was wanted on an assault charge. once inside the home, police found a grenade and several rifles. the s.w.a.t. team was called in, but the man was not inside the home. to delaware now. a neighborhood in kent county is safe once again after a meth lab was shut down today. three men were arrested for allegedly manufacturing meth at a home just west of farmington. after receiving a tip, troopers

went to a trailer behind a home on hickman road. outside they say they saw the development and chemicals used to make the drug. once inside the trailer, they arrested the three men and hickman road was closed for several hours while the dangerous chemicals were collected and then removed. in montgomery county, sunday's shopping came to a halt at the whole foods in winwood after the store was evacuated. someone driving a truck hit a gas line in the parking garage. the store has since reopened. investing in a community. that's what the festival of life is all about. the week-long outdoor festival got under way tonight. it's held every night at 7:00 and includes live music and worship services. prizes will be handed out every night, including bikes, games, philadelphia eagles tickets and even a trip to bermuda. when it's over, the event will have invested $20,000 into the

looked like a horrible monster. that's what a 18-year-old woman said about the day she live streamed the crash that killed her sister. her sister and a friend were in the back seat, not wearing seat belts. her lawyer says sanchez had a blowout on the highway and the car flipped. sanchez continued to live stream after the crash, even showing her sister's body.

>> sanchez has pleaded not guilty to drunk driving and gross vehicular manslaughter. a man in china is lucky to be alive after the motorcycle he was riding on plunged into a sinkhole. this video shows the sinkhole opening up and the man driving right into that hole. see it again. chinese media reports the hole happened because this guy was looking at his phone. fortunately for him he was not seriously hurt. historians, undersea explorers and naval enthusiasts are celebrating a major discovery in the pacific. last night we told you about the wreckage of the "uss indianapolis" sunk in the final days of world war ii have been found. tonight, nbc's steve patterson explains how its discovery solves one of the most infamous histories in u.s. naval history. >> that's it. we've got it.

cloud cover. will he have a lot of clouds and get some scattered showers? by 2:00 p.m., we see some clouds moving in, but really important, notice how they're broken clouds. partly cloudy skies, and some scattered showers just starting to approach lehigh valley and just west of new castle county there. by 3:00 p.m., we're seeing one or two scattered showers. i don't see this being an issue at all for the solar eclipse tomorrow. so here is your solar eclipse forecast. temperatures are going to be very comfortable. i do have a few extra clouds about 2:45 p.m. otherwise, i don't think this is going to be an issue at all. so enjoy, but be sure you're safe. temperatures in the mid to upper 80s tomorrow. we have allentown at 88. easton 86 for you. avolon 82. rahobeth beach at 84. and delaware, your expected -- dover rather, 88 degrees.

improvement with the addition of ronald darby following the bill's game. john clark went one on one with malcolm jenkins for his thoughts on the defense. >> we are now joined by malcolm jenkins. i think fans were happy to see a lot of pressure tonight, and blitzing from jim schwartz. what did you think of the calls? >> i thought it was very, very timely blitzes. it was an opportunity to get some pressure. we knew we had a mobile quarterback and we wanted to keep him in the pocket and get him on a clock. i thought the situations in which he blitzed caught him off guard. >> got some interceptions. last year jim schwartz didn't blitz a whole lot. >> i thido think getting after quarterback is something we want to do. i think we can do a really good job with the front four. but at times we want to give them a break, timely blitzes

will be good. i don't see them going blitz crazy, but pressuring the quarterback is something we want to get after. >> last friday ronald darby woke up when he was a buffalo bill. how impressed with you are the way he was able to jump right in and be effective? >> it was awesome. we told him going into the game, they traded you, so they've got to justify that trade, so they're probably going to target you. he made some great plays early. he gets an interception. i think it was a great start. the fans wanted to see what we had at corner. he's only been with us a few days, but he's impressed, not only the fans but his teammates. >> we appreciate your time. >> thank you. >> back to you. >> action today, this was the scene following practice, as carson wentz and alshon jeffrey took time to sign autographs. always good to see players
