an hour on a course with terurk and caicos. after that, florida. it's beginning to look more and more like that turn. that much-needed turn to keep it off of land. it's not going to happen fast enough. so still 175 mile an hour winds. and now up to 40 miles south of grand turk. so we're going through the turks and caicos. we're not going to go through the bahamas. probably the cone is going to keep it off of the mountainous areas of cuba. the far southern part would be there. this would be sunday morning. then we go up the coast and it stays over land. and that is going to be up in the northern portion perhaps of florida by some time on monday

in the afternoon. then continuing on up into georgia. this is a new cone that is shifting further west. in my experience, with 48 hours out, the cone starts shifting west rarely does it adjust east. so this is very bad news for florida. it looks like it will be a direct hit. but we will keep you updated. anywhere in this cone, let's hope. just go to the weather page. you can open up the interactive radar there and click on the layers. you're watching it there on your. turn on the storm track or the tropical layers and you can see exactly the path that irma is expected to take. and where it is now. >> we're starting to see the pictures of the the damage that irma left behind in st. martin. i want to show you exact ly whee we're talking about. the hurricane is right about here.

>> very deceiving. we all know it's coming. you can see more and more evidence of how they are preparing their sandbags. all the signs in hollywood beach. you need to get out of here. that being said, there's a lot of people here. police are saying at some point, we're not going to come back and try to get you so you need to get out. a lof of businesses have taken precautions. this had a big awning and it's connected by thousands of zip ties. they have taken all those down. this over here behind this piece they have here is a fountain. that fountain has been closed off. all the water lines and drain lines have been sealed and lifeguard towers have been locked down. i asked the lifeguard earlier. what happens if one of the strong winds what will happen. i don't know. so that's what we're dealing with here as everybody worries

says a cyber security incident could put the personal information of more than 143 million people at risk. that's nearly 45% of the american population. they say the leaked data includes names, addresses, birthdays, social security numbers and even possibly driver's license numbers. it is working with authorities to find out who did it and they are sending a letter to americans who are affected. he call it is a massacre and only showed investigators where the murder weapons were stashed after talking to his mother. tonight we're learning more about the alleged accomplice in the murder of four men in july. he's the cousin of the murder master mind and was there for three of the killings, but never told authorities about the crimes. deanna durante was in court as he came face to face with the victims' families.

>> reporter: those families all arrived in that courtroom together. some of them holding hands. others clinch iing tissues, wipg tear as they heard the details of three of the killings. as for kratz, he walked into court with a noticeable limp wearing a red jump suit looking much younger than 20 years old. >> he's a dim whit. >> reporter: shawn kratz was there as three men were murdered. he told police after the killing he flew up. but he says he waited while dinardo brought two other victims to the family farm. >> it sounds as though there was a period of five or ten minutes. if he was physically limited in his ability to get around. >> reporter: lawyers say a previous injury makes it difficult for him to walk. we saw him limp in court and this video from sky force 10 shows him limping back into prison. defense attorneys say kratz used a leg brace to walk at the time

of the murder making his roles in the crime tough. but the district attorney focused on the injuries and cause of death of the three men who were killed while kratz was on that farm and say he never called police to get help or alert them to the crime scene. instead they say once the bodies of the three men were hidden. >> they went from the murder scene to have cheese steaks. >> reporter: he referred to the crime as a massacre. earlier today dinardo appeared on closed circuit tv greeting the judge by saying, how you doing, your honor? prosecutors say he killed one man a day before bringing his cousin to the farm and killing three more. defense lawyers are trying to show he pulled the trigger four times. some family members had civil attorneys here in court. those tell us it was important for the families to be here. they want to see justice done for their loved ones and they are hoping that both men spend the rest of their lyes in

after a nearly three-month internal investigation, a philadelphia police officer will be fired for shooting and killing a suspect as he ran away. here's surveillance video showing david jones' last moments. the police commissioner says the officer shot jones from up to 35 feet away when he posed no threat. jones is accused of driving his dirt bike e erratically. the 30-year-old was carrying a gun during the initial stop, but was unarmed during the shooting. >> in this case, there were serious policy violations committed. ones that are on video. so it's not even a question of what someone's perception was versus another. >> the attorney general is investigating whether criminal charges will be filed. l new at 5:00, investigators in the lehigh valley hope.

someone can help in a 36-year-old cold case. a new $2,000 reward is being offered by lehigh valley crime st stoppers for information in the 1981 disappearance of ryan kemp. his truck was found several days later. was 30 years old when he vanished. several students were sent home from school in easton because they didn't have up to date vaccinations. that's according to the morning call. a new state law requires all students to be immie newsed by the fifth day of school, on tuesday. let's take a live look at our first alert radar and hurricane irma moving closer to the united states. right now the hurricane is expected to hit florida on sunday. chief meteorologist tammie souza will have an update in just a moment. new video of the winds battering

73 in philadelphia. 68 in coatesville. there's. some shower activity way in the distance. and this is further west. so it is not the warmest of days around our area. you can see on the doppler radar things are pretty quiet out there. we have a few clouds that have built in. we have this area of low pressure centered over the great lakes. now it's beginning to shift ever so slowly to the skpooes could bring up. wrap around sprinkles. this was the driving force between us and that line of showers that moved through yesterday. and so those are long gone. but now we may get some of the sprinkles from the main body of the storm. that's going to help to push ever so slightly that area of high pressure that is staring irma. we are waiting for this big trough out west to do the job for us. then just to irma on that hard

turn and hopefully away from the united states. this may have slowed down a little and that area of high pressure is just so strong. so it is probably not going to arrive in time to actually avoid a landfall with florida. we'll look at that in a moment. but right now, we have winds out of the west. a cool night tonight. down into the 50s tonight. kind of crisp. an early look at fall. we'll see a chance of the sprinkles, but we'll be partly sunny and temperatures in the low to mid-70s. that goes into saturday as well. saturday will be a cool one around 7 1 degrees. the latest has 175 mile an hour winds. it's still plowing on off to the west right toward florida. here are all of the models. haul these you can see they take it through tampa, miami, right up the east coast of florida. but you don't see them spreading

out from there. they are coming to consensus this is where it's going to happen in that cone. that's exactly where the cone is drawn. up throughen atlanta. this is expected to perhaps remain a tropical storm all the way to tennessee. so this is our global forecast model. it still wants to take things offshore. but now a lot of the models are following this one. this is the european. landfall in the southernmost portion of florida up through the middle of florida, which will be bad through jacksonville. and on up through atlanta and into tennessee. that would create a lot more potential for a storm surge on the west side of the coast, which is very bad because that's where they have those shallow waters. we have the three hurricanes out there. we have irma we talked about. we have a major hurricane to the east. this is going to stay away from

storm on first alert radar. it's now barrelling toward the bahamas. here's what we know right now. we are keeping a close watch as irma heads towards the u.s. the storm not expected to weaken much when it makes landfall on sunday. right now and the carolinas are in the cross hairs. chief meteorologist tammie souza joins us live and just finished checking the latest models. bring us up to date. >> it looks like the cone has shifted south and west. because it was hope that this would make the hard turn.ç there's going to be a trough. and it was hoping that would stare it. that high pressure to the north is too strong. the trough is slow. it's going to continue on this path. so because of that, they have adjusted that cone a little further to the west. let's take a look. the hurricane force winds it's anything from 75 to 15 miles an hour at this point if this is the portion of the storm that

mass passes over an area. the tropical storm force winds. is going to be from 40 to 74 mile an hour winds. this is going to go on for awhile. this is moving off to the west at 16 miles an hour. but it's not speeding off to the west. 15 mile an hour winds. off to the west and northwest. still going to be a category 5 tomorrow as it passes over open water. part of the cone over the mountains. by saturday it's in the straights of florida. perhaps it will be early on sunday morning that it could make landfall over the florida e peninsula. sunday afternoon the middle of the cone right up the center of florida at this point. watch what happens. it's still strong from jacksonville. still a hurricane passing atlanta. that's what the forecast is. even a tropical storm into parts of tennessee. we'll talk more about this and

back in may 2007. >> the body was brutally murdered and stabbed multiple times and beat multiple times. there was a dumbbell near the body that was covered in blood. dna from the scene was linked to the case. >> a worker is recovering after a beam fell at a construction site on the campus of the college. sky force 10 flew over the campus around noon. three workers were on the top floor of a building that's under construction. when that beam fell, you can see crews were called to the scene for the rescue. no word on what caused that beam to fall. >> they planned expansion plans took a hit today.

caribbean. it's moving closer to the bahamas right now. look at the size of it. closer to home, a whole different story. sunny and cool. we're taking a live look in cape may. there's a few clouds out there. a few people on the sand. temperatures in the 70s. it felt great. a lot of people talking about irma. >> they should be because i think most people know someone or lived there or worked in florida. a lot of people have connections in the south. so there's a lot of concern. after we saw what harvey did, this is a very big deal. it looks like now it's going to be florida that is in the cross hairs. may get some of the rain left from this system. that won't until the middle of next week. we were talking about football on thursday night. i wonder what they are going to do with the south florida football games on sunday. they are going to have a hurricane on their hands.

>> they are going to move them to november 19th. they have already made that decision. >> there you go. >> very smart. >> you're so brilliant. i'm so glad you're here. let's a look. we were looking at the ben franklin bridge. now we're looking at 74 as our high today. we did pick up .3 of an inch of rain. we have an area of low pressure off to the northwest of us. there's that area of low pressure. but this is so slow to move. it's being blocked by the high pressure, which is staring irma. the whole thing is in a log jam. we'll see winds out of the west. we're going to see temperatures that are going to drop tonight into the 50s. so toss that extra blanket on

the bed. by the time we get into tomorrow, we're going to be looking at perhaps only the low 70s opinion maybe an isolated sprinkle. we warm up to the mid-70s by the time we get into sunday with sunshine. here's another look at irma barrelling toward the bahamas. look at all the watches and warnings. if you look back here her hurricane jose off to the east. that's expected to strike those areas once again. south florida is all under watches and warnings. this is starting to move up the coast on both sides of florida, the bahamas are under warnings as well. that will be changing tonight. here are the spaghetti models. they are pretty much taking this thing to either coast or right

right now at 6:00, hurricane irma carving a path of deadly destruction. and its record-setting hurricane is only getting started as it heads toward the united states tonight. i'm jacqueline london. >> and i'm jim rosenfield. you can see right here this category 5 storm churning on first alert radar barrelling toward the bahamas leaving tourists there scrambling. >> it's leaving more than 1 million people inç the dark in puerto rico. downed trees, fallen power lines all over the island. officials in st. martin say 95% of the island has been demolished after a direct hit from irma. nine people have lost their lives in the storm. >> florida will start to feel the impact of irma in the next 24 hours before the storm hits sunday morning.

we are bringing you live team coverage of hurricane irma from south florida to philadelphia. we'll begin with tammie souza. give us an update on the track. >> here's the thing. they are going to start feeling the ecffects of irma because tropical storm force winds are 185 miles out from the center of this storm. you can see it barrelling toward the bahamas. it's not changing its track. we are hoping for that hard turn. it doesn't look like the timing will be as fast. it's further south at the cone for it. so we started to make the jog west. it will probably shift west even further. let's hope not. but here's the bottom line. 60 miles out is where you have the wibds. that's from a 75 to 175 mile an hour winds. and 185 miles out
