baker. he faces a possible maximum sentence of two to four years in prison for misdemeanor assault charges. prosecutors say this video shows baker in a yellow sweatshirt mock the victim and then punch him outside of a west chester convenience store. police are looking for the man in this convenience store. they are wanted for robbing a great wall of china restaurant. he flashed a gun and demanded money. no one was injured. a school bus halfway through its morning pickups collided with this motorcycle killing the driver of that bike. the 18 children on the bus were not hurt. that was the good news. the crash happened around 8:00 this morning on church street near country lane in mt. laurel. another bus came to pick up those students. this woman is accused of setting a car on fire and

prison. inside the courtroom he pleaded with the judge to spare him of prison time saying he's sick. weiner pleaded guilty in may to transferring obscene material to a minor. he could have been sentenced to up to ten years. we're only a few days into fall but it sure doesn't feel like it. this is a live look down the jersey shore at cape may. temperatures dipping into the 90s. even in late september, there are people out there on the sand, erin. here's a view from the water. we're keeping our eyes on hurricane maria. visitors have already left a popular tourist area along the north carolina outer banks. leaders issued a mandatory visitor evacuation for one of the areas. this will affect us indirectly, you said, right? >> yes. for here, we won't see a direct impact. north carolina is more to the

center of the storm where they will see the fringe impact. i think that's why people a are erring on the side of caution. maria is a category 1 storm. the forward speed is not impressive. it's drifting to north and will impacting our weather in the terms of rough current and surf. get ready for that. error on the side of caution. don't go in past your knees there. the storm is 150 miles away from the delaware beaches. that goes to show you how impressive the storm is. it's that distance away but showing rip currents in our direction. the rough surf, 8 to 12 feet. small craft advisories and dangerous rip current risk here.

too many rescues have been going on in the oceanful we'll see conditions improve here as we head later on in the week. if you're facing the atlantic ocean, that's where you have concern for the dangerous rip currents. as you look at temperatures right now, the other big story is certainly the heat around here. 89 in philadelphia, down 2 degrees in the last hour. lower 80s in dover and this is the place to be here. you saw the beach cameras and people out on the beach, i don't blame them, temperatures in the lower to middle 70s. so let's take a look at what is going to cause our weather to change. there's a big game changer on our map. minnesota has had their share of this which will do two things. it will shove maria out to sea and bring us much-needed relief.

the humidity forecast grows even higher tomorrow. wednesday by far is the worst day. that's the day you want to have the air conditioning pumping all day long and then on thursday, that's the change that will last for quite some time. humidity levels are falling and also the temperatures. the jet stream is buckling. that brings in the refreshing air. what does that mean for you and me? it means cooler mornings, crisp air, low humidity and jacket and hoodie weather in the morning hours and probably just a t-shirt in the afternoon. some of the best weather is yet to come. taking a look at the next four days, you can see the temperature trends. we start high in philadelphia and moving down towards the 70s by friday. notice, i removed the chance of showers out of the forecast here. not much rain in the philadelphia area. can't say much for the areas of the delaware beaches. a sprinkle or shower here tomorrow and wednesday. not a washout by any means. you can't rule it out. and then we'll see the conditions brighten up and

thousands of target employees are about to get a raise. the retail giant announced this morning its minimum hourly wage for its workers will jump to $11 starting next month and then to $15 by the end of 2020. target hopes the raise will help the company recruit and retain top-quality staff. it raised the rates from $9 to $10 just last year.

after hurricane harvey hit land in texas in a massive cleanup effort continues. debris piles can be seen in front of homes for miles in houston. historic floodwaters ruining everything from furniture to floors to appliances. more than 40,000 homes across the city were damaged. people here at home are dealing with record heat on this second day of fall. this is in the navy yard in south philadelphia. this is the scene in center city. you've got to stay cool out there. >> a cool-off is coming this week. i don't really mind the heat. >> i've heard mixed opinions on it. today is day number 26 of 90

degrees or higher in 2017. in an average year, we get 24 days. it was a hot summer and basically right on par for the number of 90-degree days that you would expect in a calendar year. today high, 91 in philadelphia. 91 in allentown. 89 in reading and in lancaster. the only place that escaped the heat was down at the jersey shore. temperatures in mid-80s around lunchtime and then back into the 70s. one of the places that experienced heat was up to my friends in the lehigh valley. 90 degrees. no escaping the heat and the higher elevations and it's awfully high right now. it's going to be the big story for the next couple of days. not quite as hot but more sticky. a lot of you are more sensitive to the humidity and that's going to be in the picture. temperatures in the 07s. 85 in millville.

for a sewer spill. the atlantic city health department is suspending all recreational activities in the area while work is completed to shore up that line. in camden county, volunteers helped bring 40,000 people to the dinner table. it looks like a bunch of doctors in an operating room but this was hundreds of american workers giving back to their community. 200 american water employees worked on a food assembly line packaging meals at the salvation army center in camden. the meals will go to the cathedral kitchen, joseph's house and a new neighborhood center. >> it is unconscienceable that we would have people go hungry and especially children in this great community. what we want to do at american water is do our part to make sure that doesn't happen. >> the project is part of american water action month of service. this involves thousands of employees during the month of

september. >> in camden county, the new nursing and science building is completed at rutgers. it connects the city's university district with the cooper university hospital and the cooper medical school of rowan university. starting next week, new jersey residents will pay more for gas and electricity services. they have agreed to a rate hike for south jersey gas and atlantic city electric. on average, customers will pay $6 more a month and south jersey gas will pay about $1 more. this will be used for infrastructure improvements by both companies. a monumental milestone. philadelphia gets its first civil rights statue to honor an african-american and another mark zuckerberg sighting. first a cheesesteak in philly. where else the facebook founder was spotted today grabbing a bite.

the family of a patient who died at a florida rehab center during hurricane irma filed a wrongful death lawsuit today. their father was one of 11 people who died due to extreme heat when the facility lost power in the storm. the man's 90-year-old wife is still in the hospital. more than six people shot at a church in nashville yesterday, five are still being treated. emanuel sampson opened fire as morning services were being let out. one woman was killed. sampson accidently shot himself during a scuffle with the church's usher. he's charged with murder and attempted murder. a philadelphia civil rights leader and icon will be mem m e

weather here. let's go out to wilmington. it looks like southern california. with the smog. philadelphia, we did not experience a record high today. 92 is the record. we got to 91 degrees. so close. but in allentown, our friends up there tied the record of 92. elsewhere, very close to our record highs here for today, no cigar. whether you got a record high or not, most of you, i'm sure, were using the air conditioning or at least having the windows open and drinking a lot of water hopefully out there. so 26 days now in 2017 where we've had 90 degrees or greater. haze and clouds out there at the

damage. >> reporter: it happened while he was at work. >> i came home to a pile of rubble. >> reporter: even more in his backyard. this is where he stores the rubble. he tells us he thought getting new jersey transit to repair the wall would be easy. he filed this police report and a complaint against new jersey transit. police interviewed the bus driver and the bus driver admits to backing into daily's wall but the transit authority denied his claim. daily says new jersey transit told him state law required daily to file a claim with his homeowners insurance. >> this is wrong. this is wrong. someone damaged my property. i shouldn't have to put a claim in inç my homeowner's policy. >> reporter: he says the authority also refused to pay his deductible. we then contacted new jersey transit and would not go into detail but after we got involved, it decided to pay
