unforgiving hurricane season. tonight in philadelphia. honoring and remembering inside victim around the country and their families. the national homicide justice alliance held a dance of love on the art museum steps. it featured the mothers and sisters of those who lost their lives to violence. so far there have been 222 homicides in philadelphia. this year. tonight we're learning more about the pilot who crashed right into a yard. in montgomery county. his smael plane went down a mile from the runway. neighbors and first responders rushed to pull him from the wreck. they found him nearly strangled by his seat belt. he is in the hospital. a local school principal is back on the job after he was put on leave by his school board. >> we'll get a new board president. i have been on the phone. >> parents held this rally outside the school in

wilmington. principal will resume his duty at the school tomorrow. teachers had staged a sick out in support of principal. president of the school board says both sides have worked out their differences and apologize to the parents. the latest on the investigation of the president of the board of commissioner. the board met tonight for regularly scheduled meeting. they did so without phillip present. commissioner remain mum on his absence. investigators searched his home last week. no word on the nature of the investigation. the commissioner released a brief statement only saying more information would be released at the appropriate time. coming up, prosecute o and vice president biden together once again. what brought the two to delaware tonight. record highs across parts of the area. allen town hitting 92 degrees. do we make it a third day in a row? or do wie cool off?

it's a hurricane season we won't soon forget. three major storp storms have done devastating damage across the united states. >> relief groups are scrambling to make sure there's enough help to go around. >> we have paper towels. tooth paste, mouthwash. >> reporter: in a small room, a big display of charity. >> a loft bags of items are clothes. cases of water. we made sure we hit every age bracket. >> reporter: what he's most proud of. donations from his city for people displaced by harvey. >> there's a lot of things that aren't answered for those residents down there. >> reporter: texas is one of the places still reeling after weeks of natural disasters. since harvey hit one month ago, organizations have worked almost
