1000 blo 10000 block of decatur road. you can see that green suv. right now no reports of any injuries, any serious injuries. be sure to stay with nbc 10 for updates. bracing for the effects of hurricane maria. it is expected to pass the outer banks today. it will be at least 150 miles offshore. still, schools in the outer banks are closed because of the threat of tropical storm conditions. knew lo now a look at cape may. the minor beach erosion is possible and rough seas are likely. good morning to you. i'm erin coleman. super markets are slowly reopening but there isn't a lot on the shelves and the airports are packed with people trying to escape the devastation. >> this morning growing signs throughout puerto rico of

another crisis already ravaged by the most powerful hurricane to hit the islands in decades. puerto rico leaving and coming to the u.s. mainland. the governor sounding the alarm. >> you are expecting mass exitous? >> if conditions are inhospitable, if we don't have resources to rebuild properly, yes. it will cause a problem for puerto rico and for the mainland as well. >> all over the u.s. territory these american citizens are struggling to survive. no rung water. gas is scarce and they could be without power for months. lester holt rode along flying into san juan with desperately needed supplies. overnight president trump tweeting because of infrastructure and massive debt puerto rico is in deep trouble.

it feels more like summer. right now temperatures are making their way to the 80s. it is 76 in philadelphia. reading at 80. this is lower than yesterday at this time. we started with fog and low clouds across the region. the sun is starting to pull through and temperatures will rise back into the 80s today. they shouldn't make it to the 90s lierk we saw yesterday. here is a look at radar and satellite. we have a clear blue sky overnaig heove overhead. it is not as densely packed over the north and west neighborhoods. that the coming in partially from hurricane maria. let's talk temperatures. right now at 76. we'll be at 83 by 2:00 and around 84 at 5:00 p.m. i think the high will cap around 86 degrees. today winds not going to be much relief. coming out of the east only about 8 to 10 miles per hour. it is muggy out there.

the humidity is up. it will be up through tomorrow. then we start to see a change in the pattern. on top of that at the coast they have to deal with impacts from maria. we'll talk more about the changes coming up in a few minutes. now to more breaking news. four basketball coaches are charged with fraud and corruption. the coaches work at oklahoma state, auburn and u.s. c. others are managers, financial advisers and reps from major international sportswear company. they show bribes paid to coaches to influence student athletes. more details will be released at a noon press conference. we'll stay on top of that breaking news. now to north philadelphia where neighbors found a murder victim in the bushes nearly an hour after two others got help. police responded to the 600 block around 1:00 a.m. they found two men who were shot

several times but they were conscious and talking. those men are at the hospital nearly an hour after police found those victims neighbors found a third man who had been shot and died. so far no suspects. in chester county the manhunt far shooting suspect has ended. gregory feldman was found shot in his car. he was wanted for shooting his exgirlfriend's mother as revenge for the break-up. they are not saying how he died. a man opened fire. shots were fired around 11:00 last night on north harrison street. a man found shot twice. the suspect ran away. road rage at the jersey shore. police want you to take a good look at these pictures taken from surveillance video in ocean city. two drivers got into a fight that left one person hurt.

it happened near 9th near the 9th street bridge on saturday night. the vehicle is a white dodge sprinter. if you saw anything police would like to hear from you. nfl players, coaches and owners brought their show of unity and message of equality. the cowboys put a new spin on the national anthem by kneeling before the anthem and standing during it. the players and owner jerry jones still drew boos from the crowd. the president tweeting the nfl has all sorts of rules and regulations. the only way out is to set a rule that you can't kneel during our national anthem. jordan sparks appeared to saend message on her hand. it says speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves for

the rights of all who are destitute. the anthem was the topic of conversation. >> they might not agree with those guys taking a knee but that's what america is all about, being able to take a knee. >> i'm dead serious when i say this. i hated it. >> because of the comments from the president people are more open to talk about things. >> mike pence told a campaign crowd that he stands with president trump on standing for the anthem. >> we have all got a right to our opinions, but i don't think it's too much to ask the players in the national football league to stand for our national anthem. >> on friday president trump suggested nfl players that protest during the anthem should be fired. players widely opposed that view and called for unity.

the pittsburgh steeler who stood during the anthem on sunday said he now regrets it. an army veteran was the only steel their came out of the he felt embarrassed for showing up his teammates who stayed behind in protest. >> it wasn't me stepping forward. i never planned to boycott the plan that the steelers came up with. i thought there should be some middle ground. nobody would see me and afterwards i wouldn't talk to the media like i do all of the time. >> his jersey is the top selling jersey in the nfl right now. he said the steelers never wanted to appear divided.

time for a check on the roads. >> here is our cameras around the south street onramp right over here. if you look ahead it is cleaning up some dirt or something fell out of the back of a truck. we have a little bit of a spill here. with this ramp in here it is causing cars to stop behind him. it is a little bit of dangerous merge right here. cars are going quite quickly. near south street we are seeing a little bit of a problem there. there is a southbound accident. we are not seeing any volume in the area. it is southbound near route 47 if you're moving through. we'll end here with route 70 construction near old orchard road. this is not causing delays right now. all right.

we could see a scattered shower along the coastal points but we'll see more for the rough seas and things like that. we have to top current conditions. the warmth that's still holding onto our area. mid-80s are expected. center city at 86 today. a mix of clouds and sun. there will be more clouds farther south. parts of our new jersey neighborhood mostly cloudy conditions today. 83 in trenton. cape may up to 75 degrees. atlantic city up to the low 80s. it is 85 in wilmington. further south a bit more clouds and isolated showers possible. not any kind of wash out but some of us may not see any rain. a very warm end to the month.

look. we began with mostly average conditions. temperatures have ran above average consistently. i finished filling in the calendar for us. it would make every day except for the last above average. there is a big cool down in store for us right in time for the weekend. here is a look at maria's potential path. as we go into today and tomorrow it will sit parallel effecting the mostly outer banks. it hooks to the right and stays that direction. it speedily moves out as the cold front moves into our region. we'll start to feel the cool we effects. maria will give us a subtle impact. here is what we are looking at. rough seas could pick up 10 to 12 feet. a high rip current risk.

demand. it is one of the few places where rescuers have not made it to some parts of the island lined for as long as a mile. even when customers make it to the pump they are being limited to 20 bucks. a family reunited with their parents. they hadn't heard from them since maria made land fall. it happened by chance when an nbc crew offered martinez the use of their satellite phone so he could call his daughters back home. >> your mom and i are okay.

>> it was such a relief. unsure when they will get their next chance to do that. all right. check out this scene. actually looking like fall out there with leaves on the ground. this woman wearing a sweatshirt. it is feeling a lot more like summer. still, temperatures won't get quite as warm as earlier this week. first alert meteorologist krystal klei is here. we all know this isn't going to last. >> yes. those people with the sweaters are probably taking them off. 90 degree days, announcing 26 of them. will today be number 27? i don't think it will be. we are still in the 70s right now. 76 in philadelphia. wilmington at 75. if we compare it to yesterday

these temperatures are cooler than yesterday. it is 6 in philly and 8 degrees cooler in atlantic city. we were running 15 degrees warmer than average the last few days. even if we are 8 degrees cooler we are probably about 10 degrees warmer than is typical if that makes sense. what's going on here is that we have clouds that are moving in. that's kehelping us keep temperatures warmer than yesterday. it is 5 to 10 degrees warmer in some places. we'll have coastal impacts as we go through the next 36 hours. a big cool down. it goes into your weekend. coming up we'll talk more about all of these in a bit more detail. >> we'll see you then. the white house is dismissing the accusation that

and then us getting some of the cloud bands moving through. less cloud coverage north and more cloud coverage south. 86 degrees in philadelphia. the average high today is 74. this is still 12 degrees warmer than we are expecting. in the suburbs 84. delaware at 85. the jersey shore 77 degrees. a little more clouds means a little lower temperature. in delaware southern delaware will be cooler than 85. we could see an isolated shower there thanks to some of those rain bands you saw that's our temperatures. let's talk about as we go through the next few days. we are talking one more day after this that is well warmer than average. 87 degrees in philadelphia. it will be quite humid as well. more humid tomorrow then the drop happens. cold front will slice in. it will bring temperatures down 78 on thursday and 74 on friday. not a lot of sunshine.

friday morning we'll have a crisp fall feeling. dover could see spotty showers today into tomorrow. allentown staying dry. at the shore cooling down as well with isolated chances of showers moving by tomorrow thanks to maria. on the hour by hour let's show you what i'm talking about here. still cloed clouds in place. not much showing up in terms of rain. we go in tomorrow and see little sprinkle near the shore here. go into the afternoon and notice you have a quick burst near the i-95 corridor. there could be an isolated shower as far as philly, this line here. i don't think we are going to see much of anything but a slight chance remains. better chances at the shoreline and it starts to pull on out and we start to clear out. once the cold front moves through more crisp conditions moving through thursday afternoon and by your friday which lasts on into your

weekend. let's talk abiliout hurricane maria. it is moving to the north. it is likely to drop down by tomorrow. you can see the 450k from wednesday to thursday. thursday and friday it is out of here. we'll feel some of the impacts. so we are talking rough seas through thursday. small craft advisory and it continues to develop, which means stay out of the water. very quickly put out to sea. we'll talk about a cool down for your weekend coming up after the break.
