solidarity for a player's right to free speech. >> we turn to puerto rico and the humanitarian crisis after hurricane maria. from streets drenched with flooding to crippled communications, people living there need help. we found people from the delaware valley to the lehigh valley offering to donate money and supplies to the cause. the national guard also provided food and water. president trump say he is will visit the island next tuesday. >> we have shipped massive amounts of food and water and supplies to puerto rico. we are continuing to do it on an hourly basis. >> the entire island is in pretty bad shape. some places are worse than others. steven fisher joining us with the newest video coming in. >> this is a lot of clean up and a lot of struggles. some don't have food and water and others still having a hard time making a simple phone call. in the southeast part of puerto

evening down there. you'll need the low beams as you drive around. we're tracking mahmoria right n. the high clouds you see in the sky those are the clouds of maria. 350 miles from the delaware beaches and it's not moving in this direction. we still have some impact. i'll talk about those and the big cooldown in your ten-day forecast, coming up. tonight one person is dead and two others injured after a triple shooting. police found the two injured victims at a housing complex in the 600 block of purse street. an hour later, they found the body of a third victim in some bushes. police are hoping cameras in the area got video of the suspect. two men who spray painted this building in northern liberties are on the run. you can see others standing by and recording the vandalism. police say it happened on friday on north american street. they called it operation silent night. police in chester county swept

through the town rounding up. 40 people. they targeted drug dealers and other violent offenders. the operation reduces crime and gives them information about other criminal activities. delaware governor took a tour of some of the state's national park facilities today. nbc 10 was there as he walked through bellevue state park. the governor told us he wants to learn about the needs of the park and what the state can do to enhance them. he also wants more people to enjoy the parks. and all they have to offer. >> trying to get an idea of the great offerings that we have so i can do a better job of selling it to the public and the people who live in our state to business who is are thinking about locating here. >> today's tour included a bike ride along the banks of the canal. it was business as usual this morning. thomas edison charter school in wilmington the principal was back on the job after he was briefly put on leave by the

school board. a rally support was held outside the school. he said he was overwhelmed by all the support that he receives. there is a new statue in center city making history. >> philadelphia leaders unveiled the statue of octavia this morning. it's the first dedicate ed d to single african-american on city property. hundreds cheered. it comes 150 years after he was killed on south street. he was also instrumental in desegregating streetcars in philadelphia. the mayor called him a true american hero. >> my hope is that every child in philadelphia and every child in america will know as much as octavia as they do about george washington, bnk min franklin. >> the city leaders 15 years to make this statue a reality.

a college basketball crackdown. ten people including several assistant coaches under arrest. the coaches work at oklahoma state, auburn university, arizona and the university of southern california. all are accused of bribery, collusion and obstruction of justice. prosecutors sigh they have uncovered two separate but related schemes targeting student athletes and their families. >> in exchange for bribes in $13,000 to $100,000 these coaches pushed particular managers and advisers on to players and their families. >> the second part transferred to recruits and families. the natures of the charges brought by the federal government are deeply disturbing and the organization has no tolerance whatsoever for this alleged behavior. today president trump continued to go after the nfl.

and currents and rough surf for a couple weather in september continues. the miami like humidity will be around for the day tomorrow. but tracking the big changes. everything looks like it's on schedule here late thursday through friday and into the weekend. that big change coming back into maria's fringe effect, the jersey shore are about the only places that to deal with the outer rain bands and a lot of those rain bands look light right now. temperatures across the area is something youen won't see too often. and 81 in delaware. the hot spots are cooler and the cool spots are warmer. so let's take a look at what you're going to look like for the weekend. saturday you see the rain icons. that means a little pessimistic.

destroying one home. nearly 1,000 people have been evacuated. no word on what sparked the fire. the florida keys will for tourists this weekend. on sunday visitors can make their way into the island chain hit hard by hurricane irma two weeks ago. the key west and marathon airports have reopened, but hotels and tourist facilities are still closed. imagine walking outside of your home and seeing this. thousands and thousands of bees. there's no way. that's what happened to a woman in southeast australia. bees swarmed her home. they even built hives inside the walls. check it out. a section of the walls had to be cut out to remove the bees and a 65-pound hom honeycomb was removed. the woman hoped to turn a profit by selling the honey to her friends. good thing she didn't get stung. >> how did it get that bad?

hurricane maria is dangerous and deadly impact on the jersey shore. there are renewed warnings about the treacherous ocean created by this storm.

those conditions led to at least three deaths and dozens of rescues this weekend. maria is still making enginejer shore beaches unsafe for swimming. we have team coverage of the impact on the shore.ç meteorologist steve sosna is with us. but we begin with ted greenberg live in atlantic city. >> people that we have seen today seem to be heeding the warnings of lifeguards. most of them not going into the ocean people all along the jersey coast are being urged to stay out of the water completely. mary is taiking her last dip in the ocean this year, but not venturing too far into the surf in atlantic city. >> life threat k rip currents

fuelled by hurricane maria remain a serious danger at the jersey shore. >> they started to deteriorate this time yesterday. >> atlantic city has a limited number of beach patrol members watching the still warm water, but beaches in many other shore communities are unguarded this time of year despite summer like weather luring big crowds to the coast. 100 people have been rescued from the surf. three people in ocean and ma'am mouth counties died after being pulled from the water. this drone video capturing the scene is sunday as a struggling swimmer is saved from the churn ing sea. >> if you're not a highly skilled trained waterman, you have no business being in the water. firefightered have carried out three ocean rescues in the past ten days. officers working to keep it even closer eye on the beaches. >> it's a nice water temperature

clouds north there. more on the way of sunshine. we'll be track iing for the nex two days or so. it's 350 miles off the del ware and jersey coastline. but it's moving to the north. not to the north and west or the west. this storm will not directly impact us, but it will impact us with some large waves, gusty winds during the day tomorrow, rip currents so stay out of the water again for another day and the outer rain bands. we'll track them in which communities hit in the first alert forecast. now to the devastation caused by maria in the caribbean. president trump announcing he will visit puerto rico. next tuesday to survey the damage on the u.s. territory.
