5:49 pm
>> steve, when will it start to feel like fall again? >> many people probably don't want to walk their dog in this weather. you want to let him out to do his thingme. in september the weather moves. it's not like in the summer months where the weather tends to be a little bit more stationary. we started the month with below average temperatures. and we had a good stretch of that. and then during the middle of the month is when we kicked our temperatures up above average. so when you do the math, it almost balances itself out. we're about a degree or two above average for the month of september. but again, that cooler change coming here to finish out the month by the time we get into the weekend. here are today's highs. 87 in trenton, 89 in philadelphia. 91 for a record in allentown and wilmington hit 90 degrees. we did not make day 27 of the 90-degree temperatures in 2017. right now in the city it's 85 degrees. we have a feels-like temperature of 90.
5:50 pm
this is really one of the big stories out there is the feels-like temperature where it feels like the 90s in many parts of our area. it's 89 in wilmington. 87 in lancaster right now. 81 in mount pocono. the only relief is at the shore where they have had many days now in the 70s due to the easterly wind and the easterly wind will continue through this evening and then we'll switch up the winds for tomorrow. a warmer day at the shore points. tropical with the humidity outside. you don't need me to tell you that. the heavy air we're experiencing right now will begin to dissolve here later on tonight. 26 days of 90-degree weather or more in 2017. i don't see anything that would change this number for the next ten days or so. now that we're getting into october our chances of a 90-degree temperature are much less. tracking maria. maria is now moving out to sea, so our weather will be influenced more by the west and to the west we see the cold
5:51 pm
front. that will bring us the drier area into the second half of tonight and especially during the day tomorrow. i do want to alert you that there will be some rip currents tomorrow at the jersey shore and delaware beaches. the sky will look much nicer at the jersey shore tomorrow. it will be a warmer day, but the surf will still be rough. make sure you obey all the signs out there because it is a dangerous situation. meanwhile, the weather tonight begins to cool off. that's due to the canadian high pressure system that's moving into our area. and once it sets up shop, it's going to be sticking around for a little while. this is the beautiful forecast that i have been waiting to show you. check it out. it's a nice one at that. by the time we get into tomorrow we are in the upper 70s. cooling into the lower 70s by friday. there is the crisp weekend for you. the shower chance on saturday looks small and early in the morning. overall a good weekend ahead, guys. the dealership promised a refund but the check was never delivered. >> that's until the nbc10 responds team stepped in.

the dealership sold here. >> the dealership promised a refund but the check was never delivered. so she contacted nbc10 responds. >> i feel badly for this lady. she couldn't get answers for nearly one year. so we got in gear to help her out. >> madelyn lugo purchased her 2011 gmc terrain in august of 2016. >> i love driving the car. it's a lot of room. safe. >> this emergency room tech says she got a great deal but had second thoughts about the extended warranty she purchased. it cost her $2,000. >> i figured the car was only worth $12,000. i didn't need the warranty. >> lugo told the dealership she wanted to drop the warranty. it wasn't a problem. but because she financed the warranty along with the car, the dealership needed to send a $2,000 check to her lender. that way her payment would be reflected in a lower monthly car note. >> i waited two months.
5:56 pm
to see. then i called capital one. and they never received it. >> lugo says month after month she asked the dealership about the check. >> i went back. they said, oh, well, we don't know what to do yet. >> she tells us that answer was unacceptable. she had been paying interest on a warranty she didn't have for one year. >> i said, okay. i'll handle this another way. that's when i called nbc10 responds. >> we contacted the dealership's corporate office. it told us the check may have been lost or misplaced. two days later the dealership issued a new check. >> how did we do for you? >> we did awesome. may i have a hug. >> yes indeed. yes indeed. >> all right! that's good that she finally got her money. here is a good takeaway. decide if the extended warranty is worth the cost before you buy it. if you do cancel, ask for the check to be sent certified. that way you can track it and make sure it got there. >> very smart. if you have a consumer complaint
