the president doubles down. how he's defending the relief effort in puerto rico as he prepares for his first visit since the hurricane hit. plus scare in the air. passengers on this flight didn't like what they saw outside their airplane window. and cram raw creep. what a woman spotted inside a south jersey wal-mart that had her calling for help. right now at 11:00, politics in puerto rico. president trump is lashing out once again after critics say he's not doing enough to help the hurricane victims. from his golf course in new jersey the president tweeted about puerto rico 12 times today. his main target the mayor of san juan who says she cannot keep her mouth shut anymore.

rico. more boost on the ground to help with the humanitarian crisis. from this tent the cec air guard manages the planes coming in and out. at the port, movement. according to fema 755 containers left yesterday it included food and water that's being delivered to nearly one dozen distribution centers. >> we will be taking some of the food the government is going to take them, going to buy them, and we're going to distribute them. >> reporter: they wait for hours in long lines for food that's being rationed. >> our priority at this juncture is food delivery, delivery of gas, making sure that the hospitals are working, making sure we can get more hospitals online. >> reporter: progress is slow on the devastated island.

11 days later residents struggle for their most basic needs. phone service and power are slowly being restored. one hospital is fully operational. and on monday a major delivery of equipment that will help fema get into the more rural areas. i'm andrea cline thomas, nbc 10 news. >> thanks, andrea. president trump will visit puerto rico on tuesday with the first lady. the president says he also hopes to visit the u.s. virgin islands that were badly damaged by both hurricane maria and irma. an airplane flight was on route to paris to california when this happened to the engine of the middle of the atlantic ocean. passengers say they heard a loud bang and felt the plane jerk forward. the plane made an emergency landing here in canada.

no word still on what caused this small plane to over shoot the runway in denver. around 10:30 this morning, the pilot called 911 after his single engine played made an emergency landing. the pilot and passenger were injured, but they're expected to be okay. the faa is now investigating. now to our first alert weather. showing a window night and cooler temperatures continuing across the area. tracking a chilly morning ahead. steve. >> it's 54 degrees in philadelphia right now with that northly breeze at 9 miles an hour. if you stepped out this evening, you may have felt the chill in the air, maybe reached for your steering wheel it felt chilly, that's because it is. still to go down even further over night. let's take a look at some of those neighborhood temperatures because there is a range of

temperatures right now. we're looking at temperatures in the 40s across parts of montgomery county. temperatures in the lower 50s across lower bucks county. wind at 5 to 15 miles an hour. the wind is slowly relaxing, and we'll lose that blanket tonight, which was the cloud cover we saw earlier today. so the temperatures will fall back into the 40s, but that's not what we're going to stop at tomorrow. and i'll have your first alert ten day forecast coming up. new at 11:00, a warning for runners around wilmington skyline drive. a woman was jogging when a man jumped out and touched her inappropriately. police work would the victim to come up with this sketch of her attacker. detectives are now urging everyone to be aware of their surroundings. right now a search is under way for a driver wanted in a deadly hit-and-run.

just after midnight. police described the car involved as a dark colored pickup truck. the victim's name has not been released. tonight police are trying to track down the man caught red-handed taking pictures up a woman's skirt. cameras capture the crime. police tell us he's been following the victim around the store. she even texted a friend she was concerned. if you recognize the man or know anything about the incident, police want you to call them. today philadelphia honored one of its fallen firefighters. nbc 10 was in north philadelphia as a procession carried the body of lieutenant kenneth green, he became ill while on duty and later died at the hospital. authorities have not determined what caused his death. coming up, talk about taking one for the team.

of them gave way. at least four people had serious injuries. the game was called off. stadium officials are now trying to determine what caused this collapse. we learned the original host and co-creator of the game show "let's make a deal" has died. >> and back there. >> paul debuted the show in 1963 right here on nbc. contestants in the studio audience wore outlandish costumes to try to attract his attention. paul died of heart failure at his home in beverly hills. he was 96 years old. bring out the hot coffee and hot tea. waking up temperatures tomorrow and also a nice warm up in your ten day forecast coming up.

philadelphia leaders are pack home today after spending several days in the city amazon calls home. hoping to build the company in the head quartards of the city of brotherly love. the goal to learn more about amazon, how it operates. then the companies needs and impact on the community. after the group arrived at philly international tonight they told us they believe philadelphia may have a real shot. >> i am even more encouraged after the trip that i think philadelphia has an out standing chance at this pursuit. >> amazon's second headquarters would create up to $50,000 jobs. the company would spend $5 billion to construct the facility. philadelphia is competing with

>> this was the blast of fall air, mother nature turning up the air conditioner today with that blast of fall winds and also the milder temperatures. temperatures in the 60s here today. the average high 72. so we didn't make it to average here this afternoon. we have a nice clear sky in philadelphia. andwit that clear sky we'll be looking at temperatures tonight dropping for 30s and 40s in most areas. many of you will be waking up to those 30s and 40s, the coolest morning in probably about five months. the coolest blue sky. one of those deep blue skies you see in the fall months, we have that on the way. we'll see a warming trend. and we'll really start to see that wednesday and thursday next week. but many days without rain. so you're going to need to water it. ragweed is an issue. so if you do suffer from ragweed pollen, make sure you take your

medicine and all those steps. western suburbs in the 40s. even down in new jersey you've seen lows in the 40s and 50s. we're slowly dropping and then especially towards tomorrow morning we'll see those temperatures in the 40s and 50s. many of our shore neighborhoods right now are in the 40s and 350s. an abundant amount of sunshine and temperatures in the 50s and around 60s degrees. we'll see the winds pick up a little bit out of the north and northeast tomorrow. so the clouds and the sprinkles are dying out. we're starting to see that crisp, cool canadian air with that crystal clear sky in the over night hours. that's why i would say throw an extra blanket on tonight with the temperatures dropping in the 40s here with many dropping to around 350 here in center city.

tomorrow we will start chilly, but you can follow the line. temperatures making it into the upper 60s in the early afternoon hours with a generous amount of sunshine. 70 in wilmington. we are looking at a picture perfect pattern here for mid to late week next week as temperatures climb back into the 70s. that's right. summer way not be done just yet. so let's take a look at that ten day forecast. the phillies game tomorrow looks good. also the american foundation for suicide prevention loss happens at 8:30 tomorrow morning. have a sweatshirt in the morning hours, but we'll continue that stretch with cool mornings, mild to sunny afternoons. and then as we head to next weekend, the birds game will warm with temperatures in the upper 80s. another update coming at 5:30

a.m. hey, danny pommels with you once again. the eagles have touched down on the west coast. tomorrow they'll play their first game in l.a. in 27 years. they'll take on the chargers. john clarke was with the birds when they arrived. >> reporter: the eagles have lost their last five trips to san diego. they haven't won there since 1974. but they are, they're not in san diego anymore. hopefully, plague in carson, california is a good omen. they had a stretching session immediately when they got here. last week they ran the ball all over the giants. the giants have the worst run dfrs in the nfl. the chargers have the second worst. hopefully doug peterson packed that running game in his bag coming out leer. >> we're really excited. we had a great week of practice, great grait preparation. we kind of got the running game

kim guadagno isn't it's been on the decline with the closing of the refineries and there's no jobs in the community. if there's no jobs, there's no education, there's no food on the table. what's important is the children. steve sweeney... he fought for 'em. this is where he's from. steve sweeney's been here since the beginning. steve spearheaded the whole project and really brought it to fruition. it would've never been done without steve. it was a pride in building this port and then knowing that we're coming back.

and tomorrow morning we'llcernly be cooler than that. 30s and 40s as you wake up on your sunday morning. the sunshine we have straight through it is the good thing. 74 on tuesday. but again the morning hours will be chilly. so you'll need a jacket, a hoodie as you get going to school and to work. but by friday 80 degrees. that's summer weather coming back at us. and as we head into next weekend, an early look, but it's looking again. 78 on saturday for the birds game when they come back home. >> looking at that forecast, seeing that sun just about every day, i don't know, it makes you wonder what's around the bend. a stretch of rain i bet. >> looks like los angeles to me. >> that's it for us tonight. have a good one.
