>> al: got that job and a couple weeks into that job diagnosed with leukemia. bruce arians came in, took over for 12 games, won 9 of them. led to bruce getting the head coaching job at arizona the following year. pagano right now in his sixth season as the head coach of the colts. and that's going to do it. they let that clock run out. and the colts will go to 1-3. seattle will go to 2-2. as these teams reach the one-quarter mark of the 2017 nfl season. >> cris: really a must-win for seattle and they got it done. they were pressured tonight but they got it done. >> al: outscore them 36-3 in the second half. and win the game by a score of 46-18. official.

outgain them by 305 yards. 46-18, seattle beats indianapolis here tonight. we'll bring in tony dungy from our studio. tony, i won't remind everyone that you picked the colts before the game. i won't do that to you. let's talk about how this switched so quickly in the second half. part of the story was a couple touchdowns scored by that seattle defense. they did at least remind us of how good and how important they can be as we get through the middle part of this season. >> no, they absolutely did, and this is what we're used to seeing from the seattle defense. the first half they struggled, but the second half they turned up the intensity, turned up the tempo and started creating pressure. this is what they do. they get after it, they just keep that vice on you, that defensive score to open up the second half, really started things off. i tell you, mike, if i'm pete carroll, i'm really more pleased by the play of my offensive line in that second half. they ran the ball much better. that set up the play action passes. they gave wilson time and this team, it was just an aftvalanch in the second half.

>> confidence building. we'll see if they continue to follow the pattern they vt last four years. four starts and picking it up in the second half and final quarter of the season. tony, thank you. going to bring in mike florio now from profootballtalk.com. mike, i want to get to big stories around the league especially injuries to key players. at least for now the most serious one appears to be to minnesota's very talented rookie running back dalvin cook. what are you hearing? >> mike, it doesn't look good. the belief is a torn acl in the knee for dalvin cook, that would end his season if that's the case. an mri will be conducted on monday. if he can't go, it falls to latavius murray and mckinnon to pick up the slack. julio jones entered the game today against the bills with a back injury, exited with a hip flexor problem. more information is expected regarding jones on monday. and a couple of quarterbacks who were injured on the same day in december injured on the same day in october. derek carr, the raiders' quarterback, left after taking a

knee to the back. coach jack del rio said it was back spasms and expressed optimism moving forward. marcus mariota, the titans quarterback, a hamstring injury knocked him out of the blowout loss to the texans. he'll have an mri on monday. if he can't go moving forward, matt cassel becomes the starter. >> we'll keep an eye on that and the injury here, chris carson, rookie for the seahawks injured late in the game. one of the very few negatives in a very positive second half for seattle led by their leaders. saw the bobby wagner touchdown earlier and russell wilson with a good second half performance. they're standing by on the field with michele tafoya. >> thanks. russell, you guys trailed 15-10 at the half then came out and engineered this drive that you capped off with a touchdown run. what worked on that drive that hadn't been? >> well, you know, i think that we sustained. we got third downs if. we were able to make a couple plays here and there. and then i thought the line did

a great job. couple of those sacks i think were on me too early trying to play. i thought we continued to battle. and, you know, i thought the defense all night, you know, they were great all night. that allows us to make some plays and then break this thing open. >> your young running back, chris carson, went down with an injury. you were right there next to him. almost immediately. what was going through your mind? >> well, it's a physical game, and unfortunate situations happen. i'm talking about a guy that chris carson, nobody works harder than him. you should see at practice. it's fun to watch. and unfortunately, you know, in that play, you could hear something and, you know, that's just never good. i know if anybody can come back stronger, it's going to be him. and we're going to rally around him, we got so many great guys that can step up. you saw j.d. tonight. it's unfortunate to lose a special, special player and a guy like that. >> yeah, clearly the team respects him. thank so much, congratulations. >> thank you.

ingrates. good evening and thanks for staying up with us. i'm denise that kahn know. we start with the crisis in the caribbean and the relief efforts in puerto rico. the head of fema calls the relief in puerto rico the most logistically challenging event the united states has ever seen. today fema says it's handed out millions of meals and millions of liters of water. so far in puerto rico and the u.s. virgin islands. the white house is defending the president's attacks on san juan's mayor and says the u.s. is doing all it can to help victims. well, president trump plans to visit puerto rico on tuesday. today the governor says it's important for the president and vice president to see the damage firsthand. >> to help the people of puerto rico move past this emergency, move past this catastrophe. a philadelphia man is telling his story of survival. he is now back home on the mainland. he experienced the devastation of hurricane maria in puerto rico. nbc10's drew smith spoke with

angel medina about fighting to stay alive and later escaping the situation on the island. >> if this gives, i'm screwed. >> reporter: all that stood between angel medina and dangerous hurricane conditions was this door. >> for two hours, there was just ate constant, constant blow. it felt like you had a jet plane in your living room. >> reporter: he was isolated on his four acre puerto rican farm where he spends his summers away from philadelphia. >> i said to myself if this door gives in, i'm a goner. there was no way i was going to survive that. >> reporter: he felt three times the door blown off its hinges. for six hours he used his body and some water containers to brace it. when the worst passed, his farm as he knew it was gone. the driverway impassable. >> five days it took me with a ma chetty to cut through the trees. >> reporter: it was more than distance he had to overcome when he decided to drive to the air important in san juan. all along this road there were obstacles including downed

the kids here for a chilly start. it's already cooling off outside. down to 58 degrees here in philadelphia. we were up to 69 earlier this afternoon and we'll continue that temperature tumble here tonight under those clear skies and those cool conditions. other area temperatures are at 46 in pottstown, 49 in reading right now. we're looking at lower to middle 40s across central and southern new jersey right now. the temperature is not done thawing. getting the kids ready for school tomorrow, you're going to be dealing with cool temperatures but a lot of sunshine. 41 in allentown tomorrow. 45 in quakertown. 49 in wilmington. the temperatures will be on the leap in the afternoon hours. while we have that cool start early on in the morning, by the afternoon hours, temperatures heading towards the lower and middle 70s under a generous amount of sunshine. temperatures will not be stopping there. we're headed into the 80s. find out when in your ten day in ten. carson wentz and the eagles

delivered in carson, california. the eagles relied on the running game to beat the chargers. fans traveled to california, and it sounded like a home game for the eagles. innocence sports philadelphia's danny pommells joins us with a look at the birds' victory. >> the eis game was a close one down the stretch but it might as well have been a home game for the birds. fans were everywhere as the chargers haven't established much of a fan base. jake elliott picked off where he left off today. drilling one for 47 yards away. he's just a rookie. elliott, 4 for 4 on kicks today. in the fourth quarter, the eagles cap off a key drive with this touchdown by wendell smallwood. eagles escape with a 26-24 win. they're now 3-1 on the season. >> you know, i'm kind of starting to not be stunned by our fans. honestly it's unbelievable. they travel so well.
