right now at 11. under fire. new body camera video shows police officers in las vegas trying to save lives and take down a killer. >> go that way! >> tonight we also have details on how quickly the gunman carried out in massacre and what officers encountered when they confronted the shooter. jacqueline london live from las vegas tonight. with the brand new details. a lot of new information. >> so much. police have given us an even more detailed time lip of how the tragic events unfolded.

the very first call for shots fired received at 10:58 p.m. on sunday. police say the gunshots continued for nine to eleven minutes. for the first time, we know a hotel security guard reached the gunman's room first. the guard was shot. but was able to give valuable information to the swat team. no other shots were fired. after 10:19 p.m. new body cam video is taking us inside the chaos. >> chaos under fire. body cameras capture the gunshots. the violence, the panic from all sides. non-stop. from where, they didn't know. protecting innocent concert goers. as nearly 60 are shot and killed. hundreds of others wounded.

strangers carrying strangers. tonight, our first lock at the gunmans mandalay bay hotel room. caution tape blocks the door. we see a rifle with a scope. one of 23 firearms. also a food cart. he installed a camera on one and rigged his room for more. to record. >> she begged me not to go. finally one of the hardest decisions i have ever made. >> reporter: we're learning more about the killer. a former brother-in-law described him as a high roller in the casino. who hated country music.

wore the same clothes day after day. had a gun room and hunted. >> tonight, family, friends and the entire country are mourning the loss of 59 people who lost their lives here. sunday night. take a closer look at the memorial. people have been coming by to leave flowers, candles, signs and pray for all of the victims. they're coming here in tears, they are kneeling and praying. anything they can do for the victims. one of the victims was a wrestling and little league coach from pennsylvania. he was in las vegas with his wife to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. he was from a small town of about 6,000 people. he also leaves behind two young boys. even those who don't know the victim personally are looking for ways to honor their hem memory. live in center city tonight.

dozens gathered there to remember the victims. some were involved in other mass shootings. >> yes. certainly that is right. we're outside the services building in center city. more than 100 people came out here. this is where the vigil is. we talked to three different people tonight who are strong connections with either las vegas or another mass shooting in the country. that he share their story with us. >> reporter: inside this crowd in center city underneath the signs there are stories of survival. understanding and utter disbelief. las vegas native wearing his sweatshirt tells us he would have been at the concert if he was living there. he moved a few months ago and spent the last few days frantically calling to see it relatives and trend were victims. >> when people don't respond right away. everything goes through your head. all the possibilities. it's fear. >> reporter: not standing too far from him. shedding tears. next week she's going vegas chl

bringing help and hope. she went to college in colorado. her friends were inside columbine sfwl they had an experience they went through. that. >> reporter: who can fert the pulse nightclub shooting in june of 2016. which had the distinction of being the deadliest shooting in before yesterday. in the club, she believes like hearse survivors in las vegas will deal with guilt. >> i felt like there was more i could have done for my cousin who was killed in the shooting. >> tonight a who's who of politicians. the governor was here and the mayor. everybody seemed to be talking about stronger gun laws for the

country. >> thank you for that report. so much love going out to all the those affected by this. one man from lee high valley was staying at the mandalay bay. two flors below the shooter. when he opened fire. ben sweenny says he doesn't need a tv to see what happened in las vegas. he lived it. he was staying on the 30th floor. sunday night. he says he trying to sleep when a series of loud bangs woke him up. >> i was probably 30 feet away from this guy. killing all these people. all the shots i heard. one in every three probably ended someones life. it's just. i don't have word to describe it. >> he says he jumped in the bathtub for cover. not knowing what exactly what going on. and you heard ben attempting to describe that gunfire from the shooters room.

we know the gunman had at least 23 weapons with him. and tonight, we learned 12 of the guns had bump stocks. devices can make semi-automatic weapons behave more like automatic weapons chl coming up we'll show you how the devices are at the center of a new debate over gun control. back to jim rosenfield. >> we'll check back soon. also tonight, new video shows the alleged thief akdsed of crashing his car and killing a two year-old boy. nbc10 outside the police department in bucks county where he was just charged with third degree murder. brandon hudson has been following the breaking details since this afternoon. >> the suspect walked out emotionalless. this all started over a stolen speaker from walmart. no a two year-old is dead. and the thief is facing murder

charges. >> reporter: the witness who shared this cell phone video said he watched in disbelief as police officers tried to save a two year-old boys life. one officer put his hand on his head. >> they tried to revive the boy. and i witnessed that. that was awful. >> reporter: the toddler didn't make it. he was killed after being thrown from the joep. when the driver crashed on route 13. and then ran away. police say kun was wanted for a reported theft at a nearby wl mart. another video shows him handcuffed as an officer picked him up behind a guardrail. >> we have a simple retail theft. we have to answer to charges. turn into a fatality. >> for the mother i can't imagine what she feels. >> reporter: the crash happened around noon. dormer saw coop try to run away. while the child was on the ground dying. >> i saw it auout of the back o

his car. and ran. >> still a big mystery is the relationship between the thief and the toddler. christopher coop won't tell them the relationship of the toddler and whether he's his son. >> new at 1 a car stolen with an 8 year-old boy inside. happened tonight on broad street. in loegen snagt. the boys father left the car running with his son inside. a car riding a bike spotted the car door open, jumped in and drove away. he drove a half mile before he got out and drove off. the car thief hasn't been cau t caught. new information on a chemical leak. the leak from a tank at ash land chemical plant is under control. most of the worker have been checked out. parts of columbus boulevard and

oregon avenue remain closed right now. no injuries have been reported. new at 11 yahoo is saying 3 billion user accounts were hacked as part of the largest data breech in history. that's every single user account that existed back in 2013. last december yahoo disclosed more than 1 billion accounts had been broached. they notified users directly telling them to change pass words and take security measures. president trump comments during port leuerto rico are ra eyebrows. the president met with the officials and tossed some paper towels to people impacted by the storm. mr. trump engaged in a war of words with some local officials in recent days. and today he caused a stir with two comments. one art the rvr recovery cost. the other comparing the death toll to ka tri ya.

live in las vegas. with continuing coverage on the massacre outside the mandalay bay hotel. today we got our very first look at one of the guns the shooter used. to carry out his attack. these are photographs taken inside the gunman's hotel room. authorities found a total of 23 weapons there. and 12 bump stocks. those devices allow a semi-automatic to mimic a fully automatic one. now these devices are the center of a new debate over gun control. we have seen the debates surface every time there is a mass shooting like the one right here in las vegas. the two sides seem just as far

thank you. other news tonight never before seen video and pictures of the moment a pressure cooker bomb went off in a new york city neighborhood. take a look. this video was part of the evidence today at the trial. the blast in new york heard 31 people last september. sent debro flying through the air. and shtered glass windows on the block. prosecutors also played this 911 call. >> there's a pot that's taped shut. and has wires coming out of it. and goes into another bag. it looked like it could -- i was afraid it was a bomb. >> accuse o setting off a bomb near a charity race in seaside heights. that exploepded before the race started. enough drugs to kill half of montgomery county. that's what police took off the street today. after a historic fentanyl bust. 300,000 doses of the deadly drug. that's the largest ever in the
