following a shooting. sky force 10 was over the scene on carver lane. the shots rang out just after 3:00 this afternoon. no arrested have been main. nbc 10 has a crew is heading to the scene. we'll bring you new details as soon as they come into our newsroom. a disabled student taking a beating from a classmate at a delaware high school. this is the second time this school has made headlines for studen students' troubling behavior this week. the mother of the boy says the attacker's punishment is too weak. and tim furlong reports her son is afraid to go back to school. he has the story from kent county. >> it's more than offensive touching. actual assault. >> reporter: rose wants to know how the boy who attacked her son, how is he only charged with

offensive touching. she says she can't get any answers from administrators. >> i wonder how they would feel if they seen their son getting punched like that. >> reporter: it happens tuesday in the cafeteria. the boy didn't like josh was talking to a a girl at school. and then this happened. the school district put out a statement. they point out that despite the rumors to the contrary, this fight had nothing to do with a controversial earlier this week where the school mascot was holding an offensive sign in a photo on social media. >> he doesn't want to go back to school. >> reporter: he doesn't want to go back. he has special needs and his mom workwise a parent advocate. >> i was horrified. i've never seen a video like that. >> reporter: she said she never saw anything this violaent. >> i know that there's anyway they can secure him. >> reporter: josh has cuts and bruises and he was suspended for the language used in the argument before the attack. i got off the phone with

delaware state police. they said they had seen surveillance coverage. they said offensive touching was the proper charge. they did not tell me if they had seen the cell phone video we showed you or if that would have changed things. nbc 10 news. new details are emerging about the man responsible for the massacre that killed 58 people in las vegas. investigators say stephen paddock tried to buy a large quantity of tracer bullets at a gun show last month. they illuminate when firing giving the shooter a more accurate shot. the vendor didn't have the quantity he wanted. answers to key questions that investigators had about the stephen paddock's hotel room. nbc news has confirmed no one else entered his hotel room prior to the attack. another new detail. irs records show that paddock was a successful gambler,

earning at least $5 million in 2015 alone. we know he used bump stocks to modify his weapons. the devices allow semi automatic weapons to mimic fully automatic weapons. some lawmakers are calling now for legislation to outlaw them after this week's shooting. nbc 10's deanna durante is live where one of the largest gun shows on the east coast is underway. what are people there saying about the gun control debate? >> reporter: it's no surprise they're saying they are supporting their second amendment rights. and to be able to come here and buy weapons. when you talk to some people about the bump stock, they say they do support some sort of regulation when it comes to that device. >> i've been involved in weapons forever through the military, for the past 50 years. i never heard of a bump stock until sunday. >> reporter: many we talked to as they entered the expo center say they're not concerned about

bans on weapons or restrictions placed on people who want to own guns. >> the bumper thing i think is a tempest in a teapot. there are states you can go into a gun store and pick those things up. so, you know, the discussion about federal regulation is pointless. >> reporter: some say the talk after tragedy turns to the effort to create new laws and that's not the answer. >> guns are going to get into the wrong hands no matter what. >> reporter: inside the show we were given access to one vendor who is not selling bump stocks, but he did sell semi automatic weapons like ar-15s. >> i don't think there is any legislation that could be passed from stopping an evil person from committing a heinous act. there are 20,000 gun laws on the books right now. >> reporter: gun owners say there's a difference between

limiting the sale of an accessory and a sale of weapons. >> nothing is necessary. it should be banned. really should. it's a weapon you're not supposed to do. >> reporter: some of the vendors we talked to here say when there is a tragedy and there is talk of regulation, you'll see an uptick in attendance at gun shows. right now they say that's not the case. it's the standard attendance. they're expecting about 8,000 people here this weekend. reporting live in oaks, deanna durante, nbc 10 news. several new jersey assembly members introduced legislation to ban bump stocks. the bill prohibits the sale and possession of the gun accessory. if passed, owning a bump stock will become a third degree criminal offense. dealers would be required to surrender the devices to police. individuals who own one will be forced to hand it over to authorities within 90 days of the bill's passing. meanwhile, in montgomery county, a police investigation is underway at a daycare.

officials say a class room aide at the catholic early childhood center was placed on administrative leave last week. the letter went home to parents saying action was taken following an alleged incident at school. details are limited, officials noted in the letter the aide obtained appropriate background checks as well as child abuse clearances. at this point, no charges have been filed. helping young people in new jersey battle addiction. today, the governor christie administration announced $2.7 million in grant money available to recovery for high schools state-wide. more students were battling addictions can attend the schools which have programs which prevent them from relapsing. turning to your weather, a beautiful friday. nbc 10 and chestnut hill, it's a nice day to take the dog for a walk or grab a bite outside. live look at the schuylkill
