don't have school today after mold was found. crews are back there this morning working to remove the mold. the district is blaming the heating and air-conditioning system. a spokesman said he didn't know how the mold was first diskored. >> we took immediate action. within an hour or so we had folks here starting to look at the issue. they hope to give an update on the issue within an hour. all schools in monroe township district are closed this week after mold was detected. a york county woman and her family who have been held for the past five years by the taliban have been freed. they were captured by militants in 2012 during a backpacking

trip. they had three children while in captivity. the state department released a statement saying the family is safe and secure and thanked the government in pakistan for helping free them. anch a violent night in chester. the two men were shot and killed. you can see that white tent there. that's where officials were gathering evidence. investigators tell us there is a possibility this all started with a gunfight between the men. another shooting in chester happened. police say someone possibly ampl armed with a sub machine gun, you can see a number of evidence markers there. the shooter fired at least 40 bullets. one person hit in the leg and the gunman remains on the loose. rescued a fellow firefighter after a roof collapse sent him

through a burning home. the firefighter will be okay. the house was being renovated. the cause is under investigation. it will continue to get worse before it gets better. they are talking about the deadly wild fires. the fires could gain momentum. firefighters say at least 23 people have died and hundreds are reported missing. some are getting a closer look at the devastation. nbc 10 news was there when some returned home to find everything they owned gone. about 20,000 people are now under those orders. and take a look at this of a man escaping the wild fires by driving through the flames.

about during the afternoon rush. we'll have to see if there are any roads that are flooded during that period of time. again, just the clouds, a few sprinkles around. tomorrow maybe a little more than springkles. periods of light rain. it will be another cool day with temperatures barely into the 60s. there we are with some more showers. that extends into saturday even though the wind is going to start coming out of the south and will warm up it still may have a few showers around at least some parts of the area. on sunday as long as we dry out we are going to be seeing temperatures in the 80s. in the meantime that northeast wind, the east wind keeping thins cool. so for tomorrow look at this, chestnut hill only 63. reading 64. it really is not warming up much.

anyone who had cancer. >> how are you doing now and what do you want other women to know about breast cancer? >> i am doing well. i'm finishing up chemo in a couple of weeks. i want women to get checked. really, there are so many women i have met in their 40s who have breast cancer. i don't think women are aware it is not just a 50, 60 something disease. i personally know over ten women under the age of 45, three of whom i grew up with that were diagnosed in the few months after i was diagnosed. so get checked. >> talk about what it is doing for people like caroline. >> we have seen a 30% decline in breast cancer death rates. we still see it as the second leading cause but ultimately it funds research as well as provides free services for

top stories this morning. the president of board of commissioners has until tomorrow to resign. that is in response to child porn charges. investigators say he sent and downloaded hundreds of pictures showing toddlers and even babies. pamela osborne will have a live report in just minutes. a spokesman says they hope to ve a decision in the next hour or so about when john b. kelly elementary will reopen. it was closed after mold was found. crews were working to remove that mold. officials say the california wild fires would descend on the area at least 23 people have been killed and hundreds are

missing. officials have evacuated whole towns ahead of the fires. taking a live look outside for a check on the weather here. much of the area had to deal with the wet morning commute and there is a big dip in the temperatures compared to the past few days. glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here with your most accurate forecast. >> it is going to look like this for the rest of the day and pretty much tomorrow as well. solid overcast. occasionally we get a little sprinkle. this is wilmington. same kind of sky. we have that kind of sky all through the area. that is going to put an end to these way above normal temperatures. it was 79 yesterday and only 65 today if we get there and 68 tomorrow. so now we are talking about below average temperatures. it's not going to last. it's 60 in philadelphia now. only 56 in allentown and 59 in

reading and mount holly. that is quite a change from what we have seen recently. the steadier rain has moved offshore. we are continuing to see the clouds. once in a while some of these sprinkles or drizzle drops pop up. there is that steadier rain moving off long beach island. we go through the afternoon and we find isolated showers around most of the issues later today will be in the coastal flood. minor flooding expected up the delaware river at the times of high tide. there are the temperatures not going any where this afternoon. clouds all over the place. you don't see a lot of rain drops. i don't think it will be range most of the time but there could be sprinkles. a little more rain tomorrow. we'll see how things change over the weekend. developing on the main line there are calls for the board president to step down after

his first public concert since that shooting. they were on stage when the gunman opened fire. he cancelled several shows out of respect for the victims and their families. he will take the stage today in tulsa, oklahoma. now to a county by county look at news making headlines this morning. police and prosecutor's office are offering a reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer of a house sitter. she was watching her sister-in-law's house with children inside when she was killed. atlantic city after a judge ruled the state can lay off 15 first responders. the money saving cuts can't be made until february 1st. the job cuts do not have to come through retirement.

the city says the layoffs won't compromise safety. they took over the city's finances last year after the city teetered towards default. also today leaders will cut the ribbon on a newly constructed portion of the board walk. it is phase 2 to extend it. the reconstructed portion extends from madison avenue. part of the revisions involve a rock sea wall and steel bulk head for protection. today a montgomery county walmart is launching the pip service. pick-up service. it allows them to pick up without leaving their cars. this is part of a full remodel of the hat fiedlshatfield store.
