>> al: right after the game, the volkswagen post game report. and michele as usual on the field with the stars of the game. and mike tirico and tony dungy will wrap it up, and we will take it to the next super bowl rematch in foxborough right after the game. this ball park opened in 2001 and in fact, the giants were here for the first regular
11:31 pm
season game, and it was the night before september 11th. the giants flew back and got back to the practice facility, and from the practice facility they could see the smoking towers of the world trade center. 16 years ago, and the 17th season here for denver. not too many nights like this where they had their heads ha handed to them. gallman. >> cris: and you know, i think that we have to give ben mcadoo some credit here. and sometimes the hardest thing in life is to admit something that you are directly involved in isn't working so well. and he gives up the play calling, and takes over and did a great job as a head coach this years, and mike sullivan steps in. he has been disflynned with these play calls tonight. and he has stayed with the run game, and he has been dedicated to orleans darkwa and the offensive line.
11:32 pm
completed just enough passes to make the run game work. and both of them deserve a lot of credit. >> al: once again, gallman. i have a feeling that sullivan may end up with the game ball tonight, because he certainly deserves one. and the giants # 1-5, and seattle next week, and then the rams going into the meadowlands, at winless san francisco, and face kansas city. week 12 is the thanksgiving night game, and that is our game on nbc gaiagainst the redskins. >> cris: and the good news, if you are a giants' fan, and who knows if it is possible to get it done or not, but the good news is that you have plenty of games left against the divisional opponent, and you can go take care of your own business. >> al: no team has started 0-5 and gotten to the playoffs, but there have been teams that have had five-game losing streaks and
11:33 pm
gone to the playoffs and most rekre recently kansas city. >> cris: well, and we see when the star players play for the new york giants, good things happen. eli manning had a nice night tonight, and jason pierre-paul, and janoris jenkins with a huge nig night, and eli apple better than he has been all season, and ross cockrell taking over for dominique rodgers-cromartie in that slot. he did a heck of a job, and right now, the broncos have but ten points on the board, and this is impressive. >> al: they are going to send rosas in here for what is -- let's see it is a 40-yard field goal attempt. wynn wind to hold it. he tacks on three more does one aldrick rosas who played the college ball at southern oregon. >> cris: so how young were the receivers for the new york giants coming into this game? they were so young that eli
11:34 pm
manning turned wide receiver coac coach, and they are out there throwing around, and every week, and you do this jab step there, and eli and his 5.1 speed or whatever it was. a and so they drew it up and talked about it a few time, and yeah, all right. we got it now. now, let's go beat the denver broncos in their place tonight, why not. and we talked about it in the open, and as long as you have the quarterback in the national football league, you always have a chance. eli orchestrated this beautifully tonight. >> al: and went to engram a lot. and talking about the young guys, he did everything but take them to the 2:00 feeding. >> cris: yeah. he knew them though. he knew them all from training c camp, and he had had experience with them, but they were not the difference of the game tonight. it was the offensive line and the defense and orleans darkwa that got it done. >> al: well, from maybe nine yards in, certainly eight, and this is langley.
11:35 pm
rosas is going to take hmm doim, the kicker, himself, with 19 seconds. >> cris: i was on a team one ti time, al, at the university of florida that went 0-10-1 and life is mizable. every class i went into the professors thought they were standup comedians and the players always a part of the joke, and every night you went out, it was jokes about the football team, and it is an awful experience and so getting the first win is going to be feeling good on the way home. >> al: and a champagne toast after the tie? who was it gainst? >> cris: pittsburgh, i don't know. >> al: this is going to be padding the stat sheet for devontae booker, and also for siemian. siemian has had about as pyrrhic a passing night as possible.
11:36 pm

11:39 pm
well, some folks forecasted this to be a 13-point difference in the game, but the other way around. absolute shocker for the giant s to get win one on the season and 23-10 out here at denver, and it proves that the power of positive thinking. we told you when we met with the giants yesterday, they were very positive, energized. they believed and forget the wide receiver story, they could get it done and they did it with the the exact game plan that the coach laid out. in terms of getting it done, the guys with the game balls tonight, deserving players. it is going to be honored on the sunday night bus going across the country. and jason pierre-paul, and orleans darkwa as well. they get the game balls and they get to speak to michele. >> michele: i don't believe that anybody outside of the locker room thought that the outcome would be what it was.
11:40 pm
what is the team's outhere, the mindse mindset? >> eli worked so hard, and proud to be a part of the team. >> michele: a lot of shuffling, and what worked? >> just going out there to work hard and it is exciting to get this win tonight, and tough cro crowd. the fans were great the night, we had loud fans, and it is awesome. >> michele: a nice plane ride hope? >> all smiles. sms >> michele: and turning to orleans darkwa, you had your first 100 yard rushing game, and what is the difference for you tonight? >> well, we knew it would be a grind it out game, and take four quarter and hat's off to the o-line, because we knew that we could run it out with them, and get the seams here and there and do that. >> michele: with so many injuries, you were called upon the step in, and provide some offense, and for you, personally, how were you viewing this opportunity? >> well, i always take it with
11:41 pm
stride. i have been in the league four years now, a i know how the business works and everything like that, and so when my number is called the chip on my shoulder is the same, and go out there to run hard and i give all of the thanks to my lord and savior jesus christ. >> michele: and so jason pierre-paul, the game ball to you, and so you were huddling up the team, and you said, we are all we got, and how were you trying to motivate the guys? >> well, we have been in the situation before and practice hard and some games we don't finish it off and a couple of the close games, but i told the men, look, we have receivers down, and we are all we got. a couple of guys on defense banged up, so come out here to give it your all and that is what we did today. >> michele: you wanted a performance and needed a performance out of yourself, and three sacks would constitute th that, and what is the difference for you tonight? >> well, honestly, i play for my team for the most part and play for my son, and then, you know,
11:42 pm
we had hayden, and you know, he is fighting cancer, and i told him that i would come out here to play for him and get a sack, and so this game ball is going to go to him. >> michele: congratulations. >> thank you very much. >> michele: mike? >> thank you. very classy right from outset. tony dungy, these are so hard to rea read, and you have been in the locker rooms where the teams rise up for adversity and more good giants or bad broncos? >> well, it is good giants and you saw justin pugh and jason pierre-pa pierre-pau pierre-paul, and the changes in the offensive line showed up in the running game. denver came in here with the best run defense in the nfl, and they shredded them by doing it over and over again, running up front, and the defensive line took away the run from denver, and unfortunately for the broncos' fans, if this happens and c.j. anderson is not able to get the run game going, that i will have a lot of games like this, because trevor siemian is not ready to carry the load. if he has to throw the ball 50 times like he did tonight,
11:43 pm
denver is in trouble. >> they go on the road for three in a row, the chargers, the chiefs and the eagles, and the chief s ha chiefs have the best record, and no team is unbeaten left. and so, mike florio, we have been talking about the injuries and aaron rodgers with the broken collarbone, and green bay saying they are sticking with brett hundley, and what do you feel about that? >> well, they can stick with brett sundly and they have the saints and bye week, and they could explore other possibilities based on how hundley responds, and tony romo, the wisconsin native has been mentioned and yes, he is retired, but we have been talking about the months of romo riding to the rescue for somebody, and colin kaepernick who is still available and great games against the packers and in the past, and what about scott tolzien in the past, a backup, if they decide to get a number two behind hundley, an maybe swing a trade with tolzien, and
11:44 pm
meanwhile, it is hundley and joe callahan and that is all subject to change. >> it changes the picture of the division and certainly the entire nfc. and we send aaron our best. you can catch mike tomorrow on nbcsn "profootballtalk live" followed by "dan patrick show." and we will talk to al and cris right after this. vw drivers have always put others first. now we're returning the favor, with the people first warranty. america's best bumper-to-bumper limited warranty.

and that is the matchup next week, the matchup that we saw in the super bowl -- new england against atlanta. and you know, the the season started we thought that new england might have a perfect record, but they were the first team in the nfl ever to give up six straight 300-yard passing gapes. so that defense has a lot of work to do obviously. >> cris: there have been a loft broadcasters over the years look very foolish by taking on bill belichick, matt patricia and anybody else in the new england organization early on, and so i am going to avoid that one, because i think that it happens every year with this team. they change personnel, and then they end up coming back and they train them and go through some injuries, and by the end of the year, they are playing for the super bowl championship again. it is pretty amazing what they have been able to do there. >> al: you can't count them out. what do you make of atlanta? we saw them in week two, and they looked so good against green bay and then beaten by buffalo at home, and today, they
