9th and adams. >> the mother made the 911 call and we responded to 911 to check on the children. officers met the mother outside and entered the location and actually saw two children that were deceased. >> reporter: police found two boys, one around 5 and another a few months old under water in the bathtub. there was also an intense natural gas smell. they opened up the doors and evacuated part of the block. the mom is at headquarters for questioning. the police chief believes this was a family tragedy. neighbors tell me occasionally they'd see the mother with the boys and if she was having problems being a mom, they wished that they had reached out to them for help. >> no matter what problems i go through, i could not harm my children. and we have breaking news in delaware. traffic is still backed up on i-495 south in wilmington after

a man accused of planting a bomb along a race course could face life in prison. a jury convicted ahmad rahimi. he's also charged with blowing up a trash can along the route of a marine charity race in seaside heights. >> former vice president joe biden will present the award to his long-time friend. john mccain will be honored for his sacrifice and service. >> reporter: that's right, a former president george w. bush and that is coming in by video.

his corruption trial. defense lawyers argued the charges should be dropped because the evidence didn't meet a new definition of bribery established by the supreme court last year. menendez is charged with accepting bribes from a florida doctor in exchange for pressuring officials to help out the doctor's business. there will be a vigil to remember a neighbor killed in a hit-and-run overnight. the deadly crash happened at the intersection of south 67th street on linmore around 10:00 p.m. richard brennan was hit when he was crossing the street. his nephew is urging city leaders to make the intersection more safer. >> i'm upset that they kept going. i was always saying something bad would happen right there and it was unfortunately my uncle. >> police are looking for a gray van with a damaged front windshield. a driver is accused of hitting a sheriff's deputy in

south philadelphia. devin harley was behind the wheel saturday night. they say a 14-year-old girl reported missing in south jersey was in the car with him. police say harley drove off knocking a deputy to the ground. they found him in the car a short time later but there was no sign of the missing teen. in mt. laurel, a dumptruck turned over on the turnpike near exit 4 and it took crews hours to clean up the mess of sand and fuel. fortunately, no one was hurt. happening now, the temple university community is coming together on campus for a night of healing after the latest death of a student. last week, miami beach police shot and killed carrie ann after she drove her car into an officer. she was there celebrating her birthday. her death follows the murder of a temple student over the summer and the death of norm student

who fell from a dorm window earlier in the month t. >> in montgomery county, the community is coming together. it's a workshop called reading, recasting and resolving racially stressful encounters. this comes weeks after a pair of students from a nearby school threw rocks at a high school bus. new at 6:00, the state of new jersey is significaand thiss broke two weeks ago. now the homeowners will get their day in court? >> the attorney general's office says nearly two dozen homeowners were impacted by trey mccallister's fraud and they are

outlining the very same concerns that we revealed in our story in late september. one couple showed us checks that they wrote to his firm totalling $37,000, all of it t taxpayer-funded money that they received after hurricane sandy. they said they couldn't even get in touch with him and another homeowner said that mccallister took his $86,000, tore down his damaged home but never started rebuilding a new one.ç he appeared on local community television last year warning sandy homeowners about contractor fraud. now the attorney general's office says at least 23 different homeowners are telling similar stories of fraud about him, his wife and their firm. in total, the office calculates that mccallister's deceptive

practices brought his firm more than 1$1.3 million and they are pushing for him to return all of that money and to be barred from construction work in the state of new jersey. mccallister did not return our call today. live from the breaking news desk, george spencer, nbc 10 news. city leaders cut the ribbon today for the grand reopening at philadelphia national airport at terminal bc terminal b. it includes plenty of new restaurants and and nearly 2,000 feet of water main in allentown. it brings spring water to the filtration plan and they say the project was needed to detect the line. it provides water for 55,000 homes and the costs are estimated at rnd $2 million for

i have some new video right here. thieves swiping a family's trailer. it's what was inside that has the family upset. it was packed with priceless items. now the family is pleading with the thieves to bring back their belongings. cydney long has the story from medford, new jersey. >> reporter: they are family heirlooms, old black and whites, memories of military marching orders. thousands of memories were hijacked and it's caught on camera. watch as this man peers through the side door. moments later, he and another suspect hooked up the trailer and took it. >> i know they didn't take it for the stuff in the trailer.
