anger in the streets. protesters make their voices hearty. fall festivities like this harry potter festival. tens of thousands hit the streets. a helping hand, thousands of hockey fans jump in to save a young national anthem performer. a 3-year-old boy is fighting for his life after hess was shot in the head. nbc 10's is live in the tioga section. what do we know right now,

aaron? >> reporter: denise, it looks like early on, a 6-year-old somehow someway got his hands on a gun and shot the 3-year-old. we're told the three brothers were in the house. this is very much an active situation, we are near 18th and er erie. we just not briefed moments ago. i'm told the 3 slrld haus -- they're the ones apparently who called the family here at this house. we're told no parents were home ted. that 3-year-old boy was rushed to the hopped. rushed over to temple. the shooting, according to police, happened in a second-floor bedroom. of course, neighbors, family members, everybody is distraught over the shooting, we talked to a neighbor just about 15 minutes ago. here's what she to told us and

how she feels about the shooting. >> they just needed to put these guns away. i have kids myself. i don't let my kids go to nobody's house, i don't let them come outside. they just need to put these guns away. like seriously. >> one against, this is very early on. police don't know how they got their hands on the gun. once again that 3-year-old is in critical condition at the hospital. police right now are waiting for a search warrant so they can go inside and look for more evidence. for now we're live in tioga. aaron baskerville, nbc 10 news. you are the reason why she's -- turn and -- >> also right now at 6:00 everyone antipolice demonstrations rocked a part of center city, as police chiefs from around the world gathered right here in philadelphia.

two officers were hurt while five arrests were made. this broke out all as attorney general jeff sessions was in town to speak with police chiefs from around the country. aaron baskerville was in center city earlier today with more on their message. they're fighting back against police brutality. some had their faces covered. many wanted nothing to do with our camera. >> no cameras. >> talk to one of the organizers. >> reporter: they who talk to me. >> then i won't, either. >> reporter: no comments? >> no. >> minorities groups get no due respect and no one is held

hills. it included days of transforming the neighborhood into all things magic, but just one of the many fall events happen today. drew smith joins us live from another popular event. pumpkin fest in doylestown. you could not have picked a better day for this. >> yeah, this is such a cool spot to enjoy this. think take pump king carving to another level here, and there is a big crowd on the here. can you see the line to watch all of this art. some even telling us they just couldn't stay inside this weekend. people reached back into their summer wardrobe, shorts and t-shirts. comfortable conditions for the artists carving up pumpkins. >> i've been hearing the weather was right on channel 10. we took it from there. >> the performers in costumes let us sweat it out. the above-average temperatures didn't please everyone.

california, mt. holy, the temperature will start to go down fairly rapidly. but it's dry. temperatures dropping into the 40s, and i'll let you know when the real cold air is coming in just a few minutes. president trump says tonight he east allow the release of never before seen documents related to the assassination of john f. kennedy. the national after ives has until surveys related to the assassination. 3,000 of those documents have never been seen by the public. investigators found that kennedy was shot and killed by lee harvey oswald in dalles in 1963.

police are looking for a white pickup truck with a ladder rack, and some time of riding on the driver's side door. one of the victims, a 16-year-old girl was airlifted to children's hospital. she's in serious condition. next on nbc 10 news, up in flames. a tool plant completely engulfed in flames. now being called a disaster area. and out of the rubble, a glimmer of hope, a couple goes back home after a wildfire took almost everything they owned.

today fire fighters are one step closer to have a new 21,000 square foot firehouse. a groundbreaking ceremony took place this morning. members of the fire company were there with the commonwealth cowell and local government officials and construction is expected to be complete in 2019. a solemn good-bye in florida today to army sergeant la david johnson. he was killed alongside three of his comrades during an ambush in africa. at the funeral, there was no mention of the political headlines generated in the aftermath of his death. just remembrances of a young soldier, husband and father gone too soon. and take a look at this. officials in west virginia are calling this plant fire a disaster zone after it went up in flames. this former manufacturing plant

caught fire overnight. investigators say the air around the fire is dangerous to breathe in. they're telling everyone to stay away from the scene. no word yesterday on what started the fire, but neighbors say they heard an explosion. a surprise in the rubble. a california couple went back to check on their human after wildfires spread in santa rosa, but it was gone. amid all the rubble and ash, the brinkerhoffs found a sum able of their love. a fireproof safe did not survive, but a little box with their engagement rings did. the couple says finding those rings may by a sign that things will be okay. >> when i opened it, it was a bit of just hope emplgts you see something that meant so much, you find it in rubble where everything is gone.

night, lots of sunshine, a bit of a wind off the ocean, may prevent the temperature from getting even warmer than today, then here come some clouds, sunday night into monday. a lot more cloud cover then, and maybe even a couple sprinkles. it's no a zero% chance of rain, but they may be light showers on the radar that main area of rain and thunderstorms is not going to be coming for the eagles game. that's still back out to the west by 6:00 a.m. on tuesday. here it comes. some of this rain is going to be on the heavy side. of course, we need some rain. it's not going to be day after day. tomorrow no rain anywhere, chest new hills, reading and allentown 75. not quite up to 70 at the shore with a bit of a sea breeze, but 71 in dover and newark.

now tuesday afternoon we've got a strong southerly wind, that front coming through, and this one model giving us quite a day of burt of rain and thunderstorms, maybe some gusty winds with in a. for the eagles, above-normal temperatures, just a chance of some showers coming in toward the end of the game. remember, that is not the main area of rain. we're talking tuesday for that. and then the temperatures drop. after that front goes through, and you can see how much cooler it gets. we'll find out fast. thanks, glenn. here as danny with sports. >> thank you very much. the penn state nittany lions on deck for a primetime match.
