that breaking news a prisoner on the loose. police are searching from the air and the ground it find the man who escaped from a patrol car in handcuffs. tonight police got more than they bargained for. >> officers stumbled on a house full of drugs and weapons. keith jones is following this breaking story near tenth and russell street. a busy night for police. >> yes, it was. what start as a shooting investigation turned into a very dangerous scene unfolding here behind me. if you look at your screen, there was a whole lot of heroin found in a home right down the road here. in fact you can see it on sky force 10. the swat team had been called in

to defend the house. just in case the drug dealers came become. >> reporter: tonight a man shot in the chest here at l street. witnesses say the gunman is two miles away at tenth and russell. officers arrived and arrested this man. the get away driver. and chased a gunman and placed him under arrest. when they got back to the car. he was gone. >> he was not in the car. somehow he was able to get out. of the police vehicle. >> reporter: in handcuffs behind his back. when a cay nonine tracked the s. it led to the garage with a shot up car. and bundles of heroin worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. as well as a pack alging area. several assault weapons. hundreds of round of ammunition. and several cell phones. police called in the swat team. while they await a search warrant. a dangerous scene to be searched

by narcotics professionals. >> just touching some of this pure fetae fentanyl. it could be deadly. >> back live. that is the get away vehicle. that's how police came to the location and finding a white car. that's currently being towed. the get away driver still out there tonight. cope in mind without a search warrant back there in the building, police can't up end anything. they couldn't open doors or open closets or open up drawers. so the amount of heroin is expected to go up the visit of the shooting is in stable condition. for now live in north philadelphia. >> busy night. more breaking news. two 16 year-old boys are dead tonight after a shooting at this intersection.

sky force 10 over this scene. this happened just before 9:00. witnesses say there was some sort of argument before the gunfire. police are looking for two men last seen on 12th street. be the first to know about breaking news. down load the app. developing story in montgomery county from the street to the front yard. police officers flooded a local neighborhood tonight. >> looking for three burglary suspects who broke into a home. went on run and crashed their car. >> that's where aaron is live tonight. a lot of activity for that neighborhood. >> we're standing right now where a lot of the activity was earlier this afternoon. around 5:00. we're near church road and paper mill road. walking down here this street was covered with officers. swarming here in this parking lot near the elementary school. also way back it's hard to see

there's woods. that's where one of the suspects was caught earlier today. around 5:30. talking to a few residents today. many captured all of this activity on their cell phone. >> reporter: you can hear the concern in their voices as thaz watch cop spoeding down the street. there's an all out search this afternoon. several neighborhoods were blocked off. residents were uneasy for hours. >> in more cell phone video given to nbc10. jennifer was driving through a neighborhood swarming with investigators. she told us she saw one of the suspects run across the street. followed by officers. >> they were running around with guns. a big hunl gun. little guns. zernl searching everywhere. speeding down the street. i'm shaking. >> reporter: officers canvassed every inch of the year. with guns out looking for two

men and a woman. the thieves broke -- one was caught in the area near a school. on church road in ore land. around the at the same time school butses were dropping kid off. >> there's police everywhere. we have to get into the house. >> you can hear the panic in her voice. tonight in the last hour we continue to see officers go up and down here. searching for the two suspects. they are still on the run. a man and woman. now to your first alert weather. linger rain caused street flooding at the jersey shore. this video is from long beach boulevard. most of that rain has left the area. >> much cooler weather is on the way. tammie souza is here with your neighborhood forecast. >> it's not going to be 75 tomorrow like today.

south philadelphia. bringing down the high incarceration rate. and promised a tougher crack down on crime. >> a scare for a family after police say two masked men barged into their home and ended up stealing their dar car. the masked men broke into the house around 10:00. while a mother, her boyfriend and two kids were inside. the men took the boyfriends car. his car keys. before running off and stealing the car. no one was hurt. police are looking for a red dodge charger. also new tonight. police are serging for the driver of a vehicle that hit a woman and took off. it happened near 56th street. victim is 25 year-old woman. she's listed nd critical but stable condition. police are looking for a dark colored mini van. good news for south philadelphia reck center. forced to shut down. some programs will be able to

right now at 11. ransacked ask stolen thieves were able to rip off does nsz of people just by cutting a hole in this fence. >> customers at a storage facility have lost their personal property. and a lot of money. >> denise nakano is there live tonight. you spoke to the man who discovered the break ins. >> he was the one who made the call to 911 to get the ball rolling. we had people coming in all night tries to get into the closed facility. to be meet with gate closed and a sign that says no access. >> reporter: people who use the self-storage are locked out of their own storage unions. >> i don't know what to do. >> reporter: a statd police investigation led to the closure. one victim says he called 911 after discovering dozens of self-storage units including his own broken into and damaged. >> it was all over the place. all smashed up.

stuck inside the gates here. and can't get it out because the gate is locked. state police investigating trying to get a hold of the victims. tonight a cemetery restored. what was once broken is whole again. in mount caramel. volunteers worked to repair headstones which were vandalized at this jewish cemetery. 500 headstones knocked over and broken. now the grave sites are fully restored thanks to an out pour of support and donations. a push to strengthen the states hate crime law. the new bill takes it a stp further. adding ancestry. mental or physical disability. sexual orientation. as well as gender or gender identity. the bill is still in its early stage. and hasn't been debated yet.

offshore. earlier tonight it moved right on up the jersey shore. it's cleared out of the area. you can see towards toms river and ship bottom. a few sprinkles there. where you see the band of cloud cover in the fog. otherwise we're clear. we have some more showers developing across central pennsylvania. they're not making it into our area. what we're watching is the center of the storm system. that purple that's snow. across the michigan. it's pulling cold air down into the ohio valley. that's why we'll be a bit chillier. let's go ahead and run through what's going to happen. the front passes through and we wind up with sunshine tomorrow. the winds turn to the north and northwest. and looks like we'll be clear at least through the first half of the weekend. it will be chilly. look what happens. saturday night and sunday and monday. here comes another storm system. we'll rerack and replay the entire thing. if you're going to the eagles game sunday, you'll need to

he stood up to north jersey special interests to increase funding for our schools. he stopped christie's commuter tax, saving south jersey residents over 200 million dollars. and he led the charge to pass paid family leave. aarp applauded sweeney for freezing property taxes for seniors and cutting prices on prescription drugs.
